For the price off millboard you don’t expect 7mm gaps for shrinkage which they tell you is within Tollerance , too expensive for this problem unfortunately

We had Millboard decking installed by…GRK Build
We had Millboard decking installed by an approved contractor on 28th March 2019. We have now noticed the surface on the decking is wearing and showing the primer under the grey on the areas where we walk. There is only myself and my husband living in the house, so minimal wear and tear. Apparently the guarantee in total is 25years on a sliding scale. As the decking was installed nearly 7 years ago the guarantee only covers 80% of a claim, which I understand from the guarantees terms and conditions. However, after sending photographs and all the information required by Millboard they are refusing to honour my claim, only offering a resurfacing service at a cost of £152. I am very disappointed as I understood Millboard to be a reputable company. How wrong can you be. If you are thinking of having Millboard decking installed make sure it's in an area where you don't have to walk on it!!!!!

Hi Ann,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, and we’re genuinely sorry for the frustration this has caused. We completely understand why you feel disappointed, particularly when the affected areas are the main walking routes that appear have worn unusually quickly and you’ve chosen Millboard expecting a premium, long-lasting finish.
We also want to apologise for how this was handled. It’s clear that receiving an email response without first having a proper conversation added to the frustration and confusion about our proposal to help you. We’re sorry we didn’t pick up the phone sooner to talk it through with you directly. That’s the level of service you should expect from us.
To clarify one key point: this isn’t being treated as a warranty claim, so the sliding scale is not relevant here. The resurfacing option discussed was intended as a practical solution to restore the appearance of the boards, and the amount referenced was intended as a contribution towards the overall cost which we didn’t make clear initially.
Thank you again for speaking with us and giving us the opportunity to put this right. We’ve now agreed the next steps and will be moving forward with the resurfacing to help restore the finish as quickly as possible.
Warm regards,
The Millboard Team

Very happy with finished results
I found it very light and easy to work with. I love the look of it, looking quite natural wood. At first I was worried about water sitting on it, but I am assured that this is just for the first 6 weeks or so. It's a resin left from the mould and should wash off. Otherwise very happy.

Hello Adrian,
Thank you for sharing your experience – we’re delighted to hear you’re so pleased with the finished result. It’s great to know you found the boards light, easy to work with, and that the natural wood look has hit the mark for you.
You’re absolutely right about the early water beading — it’s simply the temporary release agent from the moulding process and it dissipates over the first few weeks with weathering. Once it does, the surface performs exactly as intended.
If you ever have any questions as everything beds in, we’re always here to help. Enjoy your new space!
Warm regards,

Excellent company, product, customer service and support.
The success of our recent customer projects owes a significant debt of gratitude to the Central Projects team, and in particular, to Rachael Davis. Rachael has been an invaluable point of contact, consistently demonstrating exceptional dedication and efficiency. Her role in liaising with the technical team to ensure accurate drawing approvals, and subsequently forwarding these to our suppliers, has been critical to maintaining project timelines. Furthermore, her prompt and thorough responses to all queries and emails have significantly eased communication challenges. Beyond these essential duties, Rachael has truly gone above and beyond by proactively organising technical staff for site visits on future projects. This foresight and initiative have been incredibly beneficial, providing crucial on-site expertise and contributing significantly to the smooth progression and anticipated success of upcoming endeavours.

Great company, very pleasant representative
Easy to contact. Unable to speak to who I need to speak to initially however they phoned me back that day and resolved my concerns by dealing with the installer themselves taking away the hassle from myself. Representative was very easy to deal with and understood my issues that I was having and how to deal with it.

Envello Shadowline installation in Seattle
We learned about Envello Shadowline siding from Fine Homebuilding magazine and contacted Millboard to request samples which arrived quickly. We loved the product both for its appearance and fire resistance. Our contractor had not had any experience with the product and Millboard provided very detailed installation instructions and any questions they had were answered quickly. It was installed vertically to mimic tongue-and-groove siding. It has been over a year since it was installed and we remain delighted with the appearance. Passers-by often ask what type of wood it is and are very surprised to learn that it isn't real wood.
