Horrible customer service

No Refund, No Support – Very Frustrating Experience

I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Ava Finance. I requested to cancel my account and receive a refund of $78.39, and I submitted all the required documents.

It’s been weeks of emailing and calling, and I still haven’t received any resolution. The lack of communication and support is extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

At this point, I feel ignored as a customer. I would not recommend this service based on my experience unless they improve their customer support and actually follow through on refund requests.

No support, app doesnt work

I signed up with ava to report my rent, paid the fees, linked my bank and what do you know all of a sudden it has connection problems. Customer service is a joke they will take for ever and give you a generic response and once they respond that is it. No more conversation follow up. So dont expect help. The website or app dont provide much information and if you try to cancel they threaten you that they will hurt your credit score. This app is a scam. There is no information on what does and does not qualify for a rent payment. Deceiving

Account & Connection Status
Our records show that you joined us on April 9th and successfully activated your Ava Card, which can be used for subscription services. We also confirmed that your bank account was successfully linked. Our system is designed to automatically scan connected accounts for rent, utility, and telecommunications payments to present them for reporting to the credit bureaus.

Payment Compatibility
Regarding your specific situation, you mentioned that you use Zelle for your rent payments. While we strive for broad compatibility, Zelle is currently not a supported payment method for rent reporting. Because Zelle transactions often lack the specific data tags required by credit bureaus to verify them as "rent," we cannot accurately report those specific transactions at this time.

Support & Communication
We noticed that you sent five inquiries between yesterday and early this morning. We aim to be as responsive as possible; however, as a small team, it can take our agents a little time to provide a thorough, non-automated human response to multiple consecutive tickets.

The Impact of Closing an Account
We want to address your concern regarding "threats" to your credit score. It is never our intention to intimidate our members. However, we are required by law to inform users that closing a credit account (like the Ava Card) can impact your credit score by:

Reducing your total available credit.
Lowering your average age of accounts.
Potentially increasing your credit utilization ratio.

This is a standard function of how credit scoring models work, rather than a penalty from Ava.

If you would still like to proceed with the cancellation since Zelle is your primary payment method, please reply to our latest email thread and we will finalize that for you immediately.
