It is a scam. This site is operated by a company that has several sites that function exactly the same way.
As far as it being illegal.... that's a gray area that can go either way however this company is based in the country of Cypress and I doubt whatever fat ass is running the police force down there is interested in anything other than bribes. And the FBI isnt sitting around trying to find something to do. Members of the Trump administration will keep them busy for a while.

People start messaging you immediately but you can’t do a single thing within the app unless you pay. Any other dating app let’s you operate within the app without having to pay.
The people who message you speak broken English or just flat out don’t make sense. You message them and they never reply.
Worst dating app ever. To be honest, it’s not even one. Save your money.

Tried to sign up and made a profile. I got called sir several times while I’m the phone and I am a woman. Somethings seems fishy to me for real. I would not trust maturedating.com
Update: still unable to delete my profile for some odd reason. If this continues I will seek legal advice.

Why oh why didn't I read these reviews…
Why oh why didn't I read these reviews on this fake company before handing over my money. I am a new widow of just 1 year & requested widowers only but when I viewed the men on this site they were mostly singles or divorced. I cancelled my subscription within 30 minutes of paying and can't get them to answer any of my emails. I feel they have robbed me. I am going to put in a dispute with my visa card. Please don't go near this company, especially if like me you are grieving, it means nothing to them to add to your upset.

This is a scam and is dangerous, they are located in Bulgaria
This is a scam. not a legitamate business. Took 4 payments from my card over a week period and I was hit with fake profiles many many times, upon emailing company to get refund they go silent, Handed the fraudulent payments over to the authorities and they inform me they are in bulgaria. Crazy nowwhere should a british company that looks like australian website be taking payments from a place in bulgaria. Stay away, they are dangerous and I received a call from one of the fake profiles claiming love and marriage within 2 days of talking. his accent was disturbing his english very poor and he did not match a captain in the US Marines. Where do they get these pictures from that they post on the site. I informed the dating site and amazingly they didnt care and said he checked out legit. This happened with 2 army soldiers profiles that contacted me. The site is dangerous and not real. Find another.

Big Scam! All females ask same questions, same way. Then after 5 minutes of chatting they all say Oh Gotta go! Be back later!! then boom gone! i called them to cancel after charging me 7 dollars and spoke to this really wicked btch who just kept talking and talking and talking when I said please cancel this effective now...she just kept speaking over the top of me with her script. I had to tell her to shut the fk up. 4 times!! then I said NO, NO, NO NO each time I said no to her offers she just kept throwing more offers. Finally I just had to tell her stop talking and said cancel me now! then she said she would cancel me and sent me an e mail stating it was canceled. If they charge my card again I will personally pay a hacker to destroy that website to pieces! STAY AWAY!!!

Don't waste you money. Full of fake profile and lots of bot messages from the mostly fake female profiles. I joined for a week but informed bank never to allow any payments to clear from my account. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The site should have been banned, fake profiles, bots galore
