Unacceptable
It's 10 mins past 12pm on a Sunday. I was told my delivery would be between 8am & 12pm. I've been waiting next to my phone for Mainfreight to call/txt all morning for a full house load of furniture to be delivered from IKEA. This took heaps of organizing and I haven't heard from them at all!!! This is unacceptable. No call, no information, no apology...NOTHING! Apparently I have to wait until Monday for someone to get back to me, and reorganize the whole thing...they think an AI ChatBot that doesn't even know what Country I'm in is good enough. If they deliver on Sunday's they should have a contact person available on Sunday as well. So very poor!!!
Poor Communication, No Transparency, Escalation Only After Pressure
I have now experienced delivery issues with Mainfreight twice within a short period, and the consistent problem has not been delay alone — it has been the complete lack of communication and transparency.
In both cases, tracking remained stuck in “In Transit” for extended periods with no meaningful updates. When enquiries were made, there was either no response or very vague information. Neither I nor the seller were able to obtain clear answers about the item’s location or expected depot arrival timeframe.
Delays can happen. That is understandable.
What is not acceptable is:
No intermediate updates.
No explanation of how linehaul freight tracking works.
No estimated timeframe when asked.
Escalation only after repeated follow-ups.
Courier becoming unresponsive until cancellation pressure was applied.
In one instance, the item was only “found” after the order was cancelled and a refund was initiated. That reflects serious internal tracking or communication issues.
A delivery company’s service should not be judged solely on whether the product eventually arrives. It should be judged on:
Transparency
Responsiveness
Accountability
Clear communication
If Mainfreight had simply explained that the freight was in a consolidated linehaul container and provided a realistic depot arrival window, the experience would have been completely different.
Instead, the lack of communication created unnecessary stress and frustration.
Until tracking visibility and response standards improve, I cannot consider this an acceptable level of service.

Totally useless delivery service in Nelson. Not helpful, wont go out of their way to help. Communication terrible..wont recommend

I had a big diesel motor transported from bluff to hobsonville Auckland. They collected it from bluff Thursday afternoon and it was in my possession Monday morning very reasonable price too. Fast, efficient, cost-effective. My first experience with mainfreight and in my opinion they are outstanding. Thanks guys

Anfragen nach Frachtpreisen oder auch Nachfrage nach einer Zusammenarbeit bleiben unbeantwortet und das schon seit mehreren Monaten.

Wat ben ik geschrokken van dit bedrijf
Wat ben ik geschrokken van dit bedrijf. Een externe bestelling geplaatst die door Mainfreight zou worden geleverd. Los van dat ze zich niet aan de gemaakte afspraken hebben gehouden en ik zelf achter mijn afspraak aan moest.. laten zij de bestelling uiteindelijk geschieden door een zeer agressieve medewerker die mijn vader van 65 jaar de stuipen op het lijf heeft gejaagd. Als ik mij wil beroepen op de klachtenprocedure krijg ik die niet. Al met al, als je een bestelling verwacht vanuit Mainfreight laat deze niet aannemen door een persoon die je lief hebt!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
If you value clear communication, accountability, and basic professionalism, avoid Mainfreight. We paid upfront for a delivery they did not perform, and getting a simple refund has turned into a weeks-long ordeal. We were passed between staff, given conflicting information, ignored for days at a time, issued a “credit note” instead of a payment, and still have not been refunded despite providing our bank details over a week ago.
For a global logistics company, the treatment we received was unacceptable. We won’t be using Mainfreight again, and I strongly recommend others consider alternatives.

Mainfreight Belgique: Equipe incompétente, qui ne respecte pas ses engagements et qui n'hésite pas à mentir pour justifier son incompétence. Un transporteur à éviter à tout prix.
2 orders. Both damaged.
I got 2 separate orders from 2 separate places, arrived 2 days apart, both damaged to the point that I can’t use them. One was a table with the top completely snapped in half. The other a couch where the bottom looked like someone slashed it with a knife.
What a ripoff Company
What a ripoff Company, quoted me $8000 to have a 3 Ton Komatsu PC30 Excavator transported from Auckland to Riverton New Zealand, Used another company called KW Road Haulage and it only costed me $2180... the Excavator itself is only worth a bit more than what Mainfreight quoted me lol.
Geen bestelafspraak gemaakt, product foetsie?
Ik heb bij Obelink een product besteld en deze hebben Mainfreight de opdracht gegeven om het product te leveren. Ik zou hiervoor een e-mail krijgen om een bezorgafspraak te maken. Ik heb geen enkele mail van Mainfreight ontvangen, en Obelink lijkt ook geen contact met ze te kunnen krijgen, want ik wacht nu al ruim een week op reactie wat de status nu is.
Ik heb via Obelink besteld omdat deze een snelle levering zou hebben en ik het product vorig weekend nodig had. Het ging om een powerstation voor een kampeerweekend waar ik graag off-grid wou staan. Nu niet meer nodig want ik heb aan de walstroom gestaan. Wat ook weer extra kosten met zich mee bracht, maar goed.

Horrible experience. They delivered the same order which consisted of 2 packages in 2 parts and 2 weeks later than planned.
Failed again
Again Mainfreight have failed to deliver in a timely manner. 6 days delivery timeframe from Sydney to Melbourne is unacceptable particularly when the shipment sits in the delivery warehouse for 5 days.
