Oramai sono diversi mesi che adopero Macrium per backup e ripristino. Sinceramente mi sto trovando benissimo. Ottimo programma, semplice, veloce e sicuro. Consiglio.

be aware. you are buying a software to protect you in case of a disaster, in which your pc is out of action... you reach for the trusty backup....not even giving a thought to the possibility of the software not working.

3 days later you're still trying to get the "Emergency Kit" to actually start. nope. PR kit has problems with getting stuck on "adjusting power plan". the fix? turn off the option in the software and recreate the boot menu/USB stick. How? the PC is not booting.
find another computer, switch to PE version as recommended by their own support documentation.
That doesn't get past unlocking bitlocker, which is an optional requirement. it's on by default.
fix? log into PC and recreate boot....

I had to reinstall as 3 days trying to boot the emergency recovery disk to actually get to the restore is too much. There are many many people out there who've had the same experience... what do macrium do? nothing. it's not even a difficult fix, it's the core feature of the product. A life ring with no rope, that doesn't float.
if you read this before buying. DON'T.

Macrium backup is a superb product and the support is always top notch, I recently reached out wanting to add another licence to a 3 pack, the service I received was outstanding from Alex G, he focused on providing a solution that benefited me by offering me a 4 pack at a cheaper ongoing price than the subscription I was currently paying and honestly I did not expect that.

Very few businesses these days value their customers like that, I am a long time Macrium user and I really appreciate this loyalty from the company, this is outstanding service from a great company, I have tried several backup products but Macrium is at the top,incredibly powerful yet simple if you want it to be and combined with support staff that are professional and knowledgeable, thank you for your brilliant support Alex G

Habe "Macrium Reflect Workstation LTSC" am 24.8.2026 mit 3 Jahren Wartung gekauft. Da war bei Macrium wohl schon bekannt, daß, seit einem Windows Update vom April 2026 (KB5083769), das Mounten von Laufwerken nicht mehr funktioniert. Nun scheint es auch noch so, daß Macrium trotz der versprochenen 3 Jahre Wartung keinerlei Updates mehr herausgeben will. Unter "Long Term Service" verstehe ich etwas anderes.
Nachtrag am 24.10.2026:
Jetzt hat es wohl doch einen Patch gegeben. Ich hab die neue Version installiert und jetzt funktioniert
alle wie erwartet. Daher habe ich meine Bewertung von * auf **** geändert.

J'avais la version de Macrium Reflect 8 depuis plusieurs années. J'ai reçu un message très courtois m'informant de la possibilité d'upgrader cette version vers Macrium Reflect X. Je suis satisfait de cette nouvelle version que j'ai installée sans problème. Les contacts avec Alex G. ont été excellents.

Using this software for years, because its awesome and great. Let me explain: there are no alternatives to Macrium Reflect. You can trust your data to chinese companies that will fail you in most critical moment or break your PC. Macrium pretty fast, neat, and good working software for more than 10 years already. Its awesome software, sad, that pricing changed, and i can't afford that anymore, but i strongly recommend that software, because its saves from so many problems every single day with new updates from here and there. Just keep with Macrium USB Stick with their software in critical cases it will save tons of time & nervous & money for you.

To be honest, I was initially really annoyed that Macrium switched to annual subscriptions. But on the other hand, they do put in the work to keep the software up to date. With the previous licensing model, updates were performed within the version itself, but versions come to an end. To keep up, you have to purchase a new version again. As a result, I am now convinced that an annual subscription offers benefits for both parties: Macrium has a more solid foundation for the business, and the customer has a permanently up-to-date version. A win-win as far as I'm concerned. And let's be honest: Macrium Reflect is simply a top-notch product!

Nach mehreren Jahrzehnten, in denen ich nahezu alle bekannten Backup- und Imaging-Lösungen ausprobiert habe – von Norton Ghost über Acronis True Image bis hin zu EaseUS und vielen weiteren –, ist Macrium Reflect für mich die Software, zu der ich immer wieder zurückkehre.

Der wichtigste Grund ist die Zuverlässigkeit. Backups werden schnell erstellt, die Zeitabschätzungen sind realistisch und vor allem haben die Wiederherstellungen bei mir über die Jahre zuverlässig funktioniert. Genau darauf kommt es im Ernstfall an. Eine Backup-Software muss nicht schön sein – sie muss ein System zuverlässig wiederherstellen können.

Perfekt ist Macrium dennoch nicht. Die Software ist sehr stark auf Windows ausgerichtet. Eine Unterstützung von Linux-Dateisystemen wie ext4 würde sie für gemischte Umgebungen deutlich attraktiver machen. Auch die Benutzeroberfläche wirkt stellenweise etwas technisch und erfordert Einarbeitung. Zudem könnten Marketing und Lizenzmodell aus meiner Sicht kundenfreundlicher gestaltet sein.

Ein weiterer Punkt wäre eine möglichst langfristige Kompatibilität der Rettungsmedien und Images über verschiedene Versionen hinweg. Diesen Aspekt habe ich bislang zwar nicht systematisch getestet, würde ihn mir für die Zukunft aber ausdrücklich wünschen.

Trotz dieser Kritikpunkte ist Macrium Reflect für mich seit vielen Jahren die Backup-Lösung, der ich im Ernstfall am meisten vertraue. Und genau deshalb vergebe ich 4 von 5 Sternen.

I had to open a customer service ticket with Macrium Software to resolve a complicated licensing issue I was having. The initial request was answered within a few hours on the same day.
Alex G was able to provide me with a solution right away and solved my issue. Very easy and very professional. It could not have gone better.

We had one decent experience with Macrium when it successfully completed one clone HDD to HDD. When we tried to make a second back-up clone, all manner of "error 9" "clone failed". Macrium support emailed a couple of suggestions and then, after these failed miserably, they started ghosting us. I submit that there is no support, customer service is a joke. We got one cloning done for the money we spent (almost the same as a local service, that is physical and cannot hide behind a keyboard). If I really had it in for someone and wanted to make their life miserable and their computer useless, I would recommend Macrium, or as we now call it "McRium".

I purchased a v8 family license, but unfortunately, it has turned into a bad investment. Microsoft has blacklisted a driver used by Macrium for mounting images due to security concerns. As a result, the core functionality of the product is essentially blocked on modern Windows systems.

My biggest frustration is that the company does not appear willing to provide a fix for this version. Instead, they seem to be redirecting customers toward purchasing their newer subscription-based products. I feel that as a customer who purchased a perpetual license, I should not be forced into a subscription model just to resolve a driver compatibility issue.

Thank you for the reply, but it is technically incorrect to state that the core functionality remains unaffected.

While you can still perform a basic restore, a critical component of backup software is the ability to mount images to browse, extract, or verify individual files. Because the specific driver used by Macrium v8 has been blacklisted by Microsoft due to security concerns, this 'mount' functionality is now effectively blocked on modern Windows systems.

This isn't an 'out-of-date' software issue; it is a critical compatibility failure caused by the driver security update. For a perpetual license holder, being told that the only solution to a broken core feature is to move to a subscription model is exactly the point of frustration I raised. Customers expect software to remain functional within the ecosystem it was sold for.

I made a single home license subscription thinking that I could always upgrade to 4 package license later. However I wasn't able to do that through website. I contacted support and I had immediate response email from Alex and was able resolve the issue by refunding single license in exchange for 4 seat license package. It was quick and easy process. Alex was very courteous and professional. I am very please with the support experience and the product.

When upgrading from Reflect 8 Home to Reflect X Home, I felt a lot of pressure because I saw this as a complex procedure with a lot to lose. That was not the case at all. I changed the new license key and all the properties from the old version updated the new version.
I have used this product many years. The product is reliable and very little support was needed.

**Excellent software and outstanding support**

Macrium Reflect X is excellent backup software: easy to use, reliable, and it works very well even over a network.

I originally had a Macrium Reflect X Home licence, but I later realised that I needed some of the additional features available in the Workstation edition. Since I still had time remaining on my Home licence, I contacted Macrium Support to ask whether there was any way to move to the Workstation version without simply losing the value of my existing licence.

Alex from Macrium Support handled my request personally and arranged a practical solution, even though this was not a standard upgrade path between Home and Business products. He was courteous, quick to respond, and very helpful throughout the process.

Thanks to his support, I now have a single Workstation licence with the features I needed, and I also have direct support available if required during the licence period.

The software itself is already excellent, but the quality of support I received made the whole experience even better. Many thanks to Alex and the Macrium team.
