By All Means, Avoid LyteHosting – My Experience as a Nigerian Web Developer

I am a professional web developer, and my company is a duly registered limited liability company in Nigeria. We build, deploy, and host websites for clients as part of our business.

Over the years, I have deployed websites through providers such as Namecheap, Bluehost, and Vercel without any issues. Wanting to support a Nigerian hosting company, I purchased hosting from LyteHosting. Unfortunately, my experience has been one of the most frustrating I have encountered.

Only two days after purchasing the hosting service, LyteHosting suspended my hosting account and repeatedly demanded additional verification, warning that my service would remain suspended unless I uploaded government-issued identification and business documents.

To comply with their requests, I submitted:

- My National Identification Number (NIN).
- My company's Certificate of Incorporation and CAC registration documents.
- An explanation that my registered company is legally authorized to build, deploy, and host websites for clients in Nigeria.

I also explained that, as a web development company, I host multiple websites for different clients. It is neither practical nor reasonable to expect me to obtain and submit every client's CAC registration documents simply because they are hosted on my account.

I repeatedly requested that LyteHosting carry out their own manual review of the domains and hosting account to determine whether there was any evidence of fraud, phishing, or any other prohibited activity. If they had identified a specific concern, I was willing to cooperate fully. Unfortunately, these explanations and requests appeared to be ignored, and I received no meaningful response addressing the information I had already provided.

Instead, my hosting remained suspended despite my efforts to verify my identity and my company's legitimacy.

As a business owner, this experience was disruptive, unprofessional, and damaging. Hosting providers should have transparent verification procedures, communicate clearly with customers, and investigate accounts fairly rather than repeatedly requesting documents while leaving legitimate businesses without service.

What concerns me most is that this does not appear to be an isolated incident. I have come across reports from other customers describing similar experiences involving account suspensions after payment, excessive verification demands, and difficulties resolving their cases.

In my opinion, LyteHosting's business practices raise serious concerns. Customers pay for a hosting service only to risk having it suspended shortly afterward without a fair resolution. In my own case, I lost access to a service I had paid for and did not receive a refund. Based on my experience, I believe anyone considering LyteHosting should exercise extreme caution and thoroughly research other customers' experiences before committing their websites or business to the platform.

If your business depends on reliable hosting, responsive customer support, and fair treatment, I strongly recommend evaluating more established hosting providers with proven and transparent verification processes before choosing LyteHosting.

They suspended my hosting account for nothing, they couldn't provide any reason or prove of what i did that made them to.suspend my hosting unnecessary excuses now evidence or reason what i did after frustrating me to get id documents they demanded and i got the documents ready to submit and this was what they told me again

As stated in our official compliance notice issued on June 6th, your hosting container was flagged by third-party global security networks for violating our Acceptable Use Policy (specifically regarding phishing signatures and deceptive financial/crypto service emulation).

Because of the severity of this network abuse type:

Your hosting account under our server infrastructure has already been permanently and completely terminated.

Once an account undergoes terminal erasure due to severe fraud or phishing compliance alerts, it cannot be reactivated or restored under any circumstances, regardless of verification documents, corporate registrations, or legal IDs provided afterward.

Since the server data has been wiped from the partition and the termination is absolute and irreversible, no verification process can override this security action. Your domain name registration remains under your independent control, but it can no longer be hosted on our server network.

Great CS always makes the difference in a business. LyteHosting's team is great at listening and working with customers to get the answer, which is why we will be doing repeat business with them.

I like that they commit to using humans to resolve customers problems and not bots which can leave a customer unhappy. The time of reverting back to customers complaints is very commendable.

I believe they have few, if any, technical team members in this company. I bought a hosting plan, encountered a technical problem, raised a ticket, and didn't get a response or solution for up to 48 hours. As a result, I had to purchase another hosting plan elsewhere, not once but twice. Several months after the first experience, I decided to give it another try with my client's website. Unfortunately, two days passed without any solution or response, and I had to go buy another hosting elsewhere with my own money. You could take the risk, but I hope you have backup funds just in case.
