Clean car, quick rental but at our return difficult to locate the drop off parking without sign on the road

The first car you gave me was empty on ad-blue. I had to go back to the rental place and get another car, wasting my time. The car pickup location was at a parking underground that was quite far from the office of locauto. I was with several bags, 2 small children,so not fun getting to the car, having to take escalators, cross public roads and walk around to an underground parking etc. When i dropped the car upon return i was never given any proof of document that the car was returned on time, knowing you have a very strict policy on return times (grace period is very little) it was my upmost concern. The person that received the car for me at malpensa airport was not very welcoming, not talking much, very little explanations given during checkin of the car. I asked about some form of proof of return in time and goo condition and he just mentioned that i would get a document via email in the next 5 to 10 minutes. Its been more than 24 hours and still waiting for that document...other thant that the car was good.

Person at desk was not very friendly or personable. But other than that service was good. Our car had a low tire, si they switch it out for a better one.

we had to wait for 1h to get our car in Rome and the staff was not very pleasant, exept one after we complained that we were waiting stand up, no seats in front of them at 65+yes in the heat.

we got a very nice BMW new car for our roadtrip.

The return was very efficient and pleasant in Naples.
Locauto doesn't charge an upfront fee which is very good.
All in one it has been a very good experience.

The checkin option was very straightforward and the same as any other competitor. For the local city Rome Via Veneto pickup, the office was about a 10 minute walk from the carpark but very easy to get to in the Villa Borghese underground parking. The car was well maintained. and a reasonable price.

Returning the car was also super straightforward. Returned to Venice Airport simply head for parking 1 and follow the signs to the car hire return. Then the staff look over the car asked to sign a tablet to confirm the return review notes and we were on our way.

The experience was very bad at all
No good service no telephone reply .
I had problem with the car on my way to Rome when I arrived hardly to sorento me and the hotel tried to call you for two days no reply . After they reply your stuff told me to take the car to Napoli to change it means I must driver more then one hour to change the car even there is problem n it instead of being at her car to my place .
I didn’t drive the car only Rome sorento then back to Rome

Precisi e chiari

Absolutely avoid if possible, their service was highly unreliable. We booked an automatic transmission car months in advance only to find out on the spot that none were available, with no notification ahead.

Their proposed solution was that we find an alternative on our own at the competing neighboring car rental services (of course none were available last minute during weekend) or rent a manual transmission car at a higher price.

Having no other options to stick to our travel plans, we had to agree, resulting in uncomfortable situations in the busy streets of Rome. There is absolutely no space to refresh your manual driving skills. During pickup we noticed a foul vomit smell in the back seat which we complained about to which the staff only replied "car wash". When returning the car in ZTL zones, make sure the staff registers your car otherwise you risk a high fine.
