It is really nice studying with lingoda. There is an exact schedule you can follow which makes it so easy to go ahead. I am always looking forward to my next lesson. Also sometimes groups are rally small (just two or your alone) and then you can speak so much which is amazing!

A great start to my English learning journey
I have only been using Lingoda for one week, but so far I am really enjoying the learning experience. I like the teaching method and the way the lessons are organized. I am a mathematics teacher, and my goal is to improve my English so that I can teach mathematics in English in the future. Didn't really research enough but seems a bit of a scam. I paid for 40 lessons but didn't realise I had to pay at least 80 euros a month subscription otherwise I can't use them. Wouldn't recommend

Our courses are structured as a monthly subscription format that automatically renews every 4 weeks. We aim to be as transparent as possible about this setup, which is why it is noted on our pricing page, during the initial payment confirmation when signing up, and in the confirmation email sent after purchase, which explicitly lists your next billing date. We apologize if this was still not clear at the time of your signup.
We recommend downgrading your current subscription to our smallest monthly plan. Your credits themselves remain valid for 1 full year from the date of purchase, but an active subscription is required to access and book classes with them. Keeping the smallest plan active ensures you keep access to your existing balance without committing to a larger monthly cost.

Endlich auch trau' ich mich auch zu sprechen :-)
Ich konnte mein Französisch innerhalb des halben Jahres, in dem ich bei Lingoda bin, deutlich verbessern und insbesondere meine Scheu zu sprechen ablegen. Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten Lektionen vor- und nachzubereiten. Den Lingobot finde ich super, weil er einem die Möglichkeit gibt das Gelernte auch schriftlich und mit etwas mehr Zeit zu üben. Was mich ein bisschen "stresst" ist, dass man immer wieder neue Lehrer:innen hat, weil die Stile doch teilweise sehr unterschiedlich sind und man sich aufeinander einstellen muss. Cool wäre es, wenn man sich die Lehrperson aussuchen könnte.

The teachers are great. I also like the Lingobites and other learning tools to review the learned knowledge. I am very pleased that I am flexible to use the 12 credits throughout the month. For now all good. I still need to built the routine to study every day a bit.

It is great to hear that you appreciate the 28-day credit cycle. The idea behind our monthly subscription is to help students build a steady routine by giving you a set number of credits to use each month, which you can also carry over into the next month as long as your subscription stays active.
If you ever find it tricky to keep up with your schedule, there are a few simple ways to adjust your plan. You can easily switch to a smaller monthly plan, pause your subscription for up to 28 days when you need a break, or convert your group credits into private class credits to use them faster.

Classes itself and teachers are very good. However, I encountered lots of technical issues after moving from Zoom to the "Classroom" to the point that I could not attend several classes. It seems like there is no fix available. In addition, it is difficult to pause the subscription when having too many credits in my account as I would lose all of them.

Having technical issues get in the way of your learning—and missing classes as a result—is frustrating, and we want to help make this right. Our support team has already been in contact with you, and our developers are investigating the issues you encountered with the Lingoda Classroom to find a solution.
Regarding your credit balance, we have already postponed your next payment date by 3 months to give you time to use your accumulated credits. We also recommend converting some of your group class credits into private class credits at a 3:1 ratio, which you can use to attend customized or regular private classes. If you cancel your subscription, your unused credits will not disappear—they remain valid for 1 year from the purchase date, though an active subscription is required to use them.

Lingoda is great because of
- very small classes
- real teachers get you talking
- by & large, they talk in the target language only
- you can book classes whenever you want
- it has a very well structured curriculum on slides that can be downloaded for preparation and review
- disadvantage: no real homework, especially no exercises besides more classroom slides. But teachers often refer to external online resources
In short: better than in-person classes such as Volkshochschule and definitely better than Duolingo
