Really horrendous experience with this company. Purchased a lock with Anti-theft protection just to have piece of mind that if something did happen I'd get some sort of compesenation to be able to buy a new one. That day came when someone cut my lock to steal my EBike when I was at the gym one day. As soon as I filed a claim the first reed flag was that they state it takes 30 days for them to respond. Then after finally responding they refused to pay because I couldn't send a picture of the broken lock that the thieve must have took with them -- despite sending the police report with the stated events and CCTV footage.

Can't believe it, simply do not buy from this company.

I took out ATPO insurance with Kryptonite, I had a claim at the end of December, I sent all the requested documents but the
only thing that bothers them is knowing why it took me so long between buying my
bike and buying the lock (6 months) except that I already had one but it was defective so I bought another one in December.
Since then Sandy has been playing dead, she hardly answers emails, I am going to start a process to be compensated, it is unacceptable.

My claim (Claim Number 110308) was approved over two months ago. While I have received the settlement figure, I have yet to be paid despite repeated assurances that payment is "being processed." This delay has left me extremely frustrated. I rely on my bike for daily activities and work, and being without it for this long has caused significant inconvenience. Customer service, which was initially responsive, has now stopped replying altogether. The lack of communication and action is deeply concerning, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this company. It’s simply not worth the hassle.

Sounds like a story of many. Lock broke; contacted them for a new one under warranty. Very delayed response asking for the inside lock size; after that, zero response. Big promises, and big expectations; no delivery. £15 bike lock from a local London shop has lasted longer with much better customer care.

Non-existent customer support; no response to several requests (réf. 493733 about APTO anti-theft protection program).
It's deplorable; I've never met a company that cares so little about its customers.

Nu har jeg i 2 år benyttet mig af en Kryptonite forsikringsgodkendt kraftig kædelås. Låsen har fra første færd været super besværlig, at åbne og lukke med den tilhørende nøgle. Nu sidder nøglen fast i låsecylinderen, for jeg ved ikke hvilken gang, denne gang kan jeg ikke få nøglen ud og nu har jeg givet op på låsen. Jeg køber ALDRIG igen en kraftig kædelås eller andet af mærket Kryptonite, låsen har vist sig at være af tvivlsom kvalitet.

I recently had two occasions to contact customer services. One was for advise on how to fix the barrel on my lock which had jammed & after showing digital images of the problem I promptly received a new lock FOC.

Then I needed to order a replacement key for another lock & after a problem with their site meant my payment could not be processed, they said they would process my request FOC.

Prompt & efficient service.

Seeing other people's reviews clarifies that my experience is not unique.

My Kryptonite lock has served me well for years until the key snapped in the lock and I could not get it out with tweezers/pliers. I submitted a claim and have heard NOTHING.

Very cheeky to claim to offer a 'Lifetime warranty'. At least tell us in the small print that it will take a lifetime to hear back from you.

I am a student, and I recently had my bike stolen despite using one of [Bike Lock Company's] locks, which I trusted to keep my bike safe. As a student, my budget is tight, and my bike was essential for getting to class and work.

I purchased this lock based on its security claims, but it completely failed me. I tried to follow up with [Bike Lock Company] for compensation or assistance, but they’ve been unhelpful and unresponsive, even though I provided all the required details and documentation. It’s incredibly disappointing that a company promoting their locks as "high security" won’t take accountability when their product doesn’t deliver.

This experience has left me in a difficult situation, and I expected more from a company claiming to prioritize customer security. Please, [Bike Lock Company], I need your support now more than ever.

Achat d'un antivol Kryptonite keeper 785 le 23 octobre 2023 à Neuilly-sur-Seine. Moins d'un après le barillet fonctionne de plus en plus mal. La clef se casse dans le barillet. Le service après vente de KRYPTONITE est sollicité. Sa réponse est :"Après vérification, la garantie à vie de Kryptonite ne couvre malheureusement pas les dommages résultant d'une mauvaise utilisation ou d'une négligence, comme c'est le cas avec la clé cassée dans le barillet".
C'est la première fois qu'on me traite de négligent. Si négligence il y avait, comment aurais-je fait pendant quasiment 1 an en utilisant mon vélo et l'antivol plusieurs fois par semaine ?
Bref, très mauvaise qualité de produit. Et très mauvaise expérience client. Mon vélo est toujours prisonnier du rack vélo. Marque à FUIR !

Absolute crap firstly couldn’t register lock online and bike along with the lock stolen. Couldn’t claim coz couldn’t register the lock 😡

I had my Kryptonite lock for over 15 years. The locking mechanism broke, I contacted Kryptonite, provided all of the required information and 3 weeks later I got a brand new lock. It just came via UPS. I bought the lock in New York, I now live in Croatia and they sent it, free of charge. Amazing! Thank you.

Ordered a replacement key, tooks months to arrive - replacement key doesn't even work.

Tried to contacting the customer service and i got one reply after 3 months, still no resolution.

They were happy to take my money for it though.

Shocking aftercare, non existent customer service

Registration for ATPO failed due to a technical issue with Kryptonite's website. I then sent them a service ticket on Aug 5 with all details to register for ATPO. It is now Sep 10 and I have received no response other than an automated acknowledgement.

I bought the Kryptonite lock specifically because of their ATPO program and the piece of mind it was supposed to deliver from carrying their "insurance" on my e-bike. I regret my purchase of the Kryptonite lock. In hindsight I should have gone with a competitor whose lock is better reviewed but who lacks an equivalent ATPO program.

I bought Kryptonite U-Lock in April. My bike got stolen and thieft cut the lock with angle grinder in a matter of seconds. I claimed it to the company as I bought ATP together with the lock. Since then I did't receive any answer to my claim no. 109762. It looks like they cash the money from customers and do not care about holding to the terms of the ATP.

I ordered spare keys - a right which was included with the lock i purchased, and after 10 months i still haven't received it! i can't believe it

Ich habe mir ein Kryptonite Evolution Series 4 Integrated Chain 1090 gekauft.
Leider kann ich mich nicht für das Anti-Theft Protection Offer registrieren, da meine Schlüsselnummer nicht akzeptiert wird. Laut den FAQ mache ich alles richtig, dennoch kann die Registrierung nicht abgeschlossen werden.
Ohne ATPO ist das Produkt für mich uninteressant und ich werde den Artikel wohl zurückschicken müssen.

I contacted this company via their website contact information about a bike lock i purchased that had been cut through in an attempted theft. The ticket was submitted on Aug 3rd (it is now Sep 5th) and I haven't heard a peep from them.

My bike got stollen on the 12/04/2024, barely a month after I purchased the bicyle in broad day light secured by Evolution Mini-9 U lock. I submitted a claim right away and never had any reply other than the auto response stating: "A 30 day waiting period from the date of the theft is required before we can process your claim (in the event of the recovery of your bicycle or powersport vehicle)". Today is the 2nd of September 2024, I have sent an other claim and chased every month the support address (12/05/2024 - 04/06/2024 - 04/07/2024). After having spent and lost money on a bike, a lock and an extra cover I can claim this company is not as trustworthy as it used to be.
