We stayed in the Portugal villa in May last year and were very impressed with the villa, service and everything from start to finish. The villa is modern but loaded with home comforts in a lovely area. We were a family of 3 teens/twenties and 2 fifties. The communication was brilliant from deposit to home time and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We’ve stayed at this lovely Villa twice now; first in June 2022 and latest visit was in July 2024. We would highly recommended KG retreats villa for a relaxing family or couples’ holiday in Portugal.

This really is the most luxurious and spacious villa, situated in a beautiful area (Porto de Mos Lagos) with stunning views and peaceful surroundings.

It’s only 50 min drive from the airport (easy to find), a quick 5 mins walk down the hill to the local beach with 2 lovely restaurants and beach bars, a short 20-minute stroll into the heart of Lagos with the bustling streets, packed with shops and restaurants.

The supermarket (Lidl) is about 10 minutes’ drive offering superb reasonably priced food and local wines. A local convenience store less than 10 mins walk, again offering everything you need.

The villa has been beautifully designed with stunning interior. It offers everything we expected and more! We were truly blown away by everything this modern villa had to offer.

You get the sunshine all day long, but at the same time the pool side also offers ample amount of shade to get the children out the midday sun! The pool is just as spectacular too.

I must admit I was initially apprehensive to stay in a villa as wasn’t sure about wanting to cook abroad - but this kitchen was an absolute dream to cook in. It had all the appliances I needed and with the gas BBQ right next door which was so handy. The open plan kitchen dining was perfect for hosting our family meals as we could still socialise with the family.

From the moment we booked the holiday; to check in and throughout our stay, we had excellent communication from KG retreats.

Everything we needed was provided in all the initial emails and the Instagram page had lots of links- useful information with suggestions for restaurants and activities to do- as-well as all the nice beaches to visit.

Off the back of the listed recommendations for restaurants… ‘Rai de praise’ was our favourite restaurants - it’s a little more expensive than other meals we had but they offered the most incredible sea food, and I would jump at the chance to go back. I’d suggest you need to book well in advance as it gets fully booked due to the most incredible sunsets and stunning location. If you’re going in the height of summer, I’d suggest booking 2 or 3 restaurants to avoid disappointment - Although we were a family of 6, so appreciate that’s a bigger table than most families.

We’ve loved both our family holidays here and it just felt like home where we could relax and unwind… we only wish we’d booked for longer!
