Deposit? More like a forced store credit scam
I used the home try-on service from KARAAT, thinking I was leaving a deposit that I would get back once I returned the kit. Naturally, when you hear "deposit," you expect it to be returned in the same form you paid it. But instead of receiving my money back, I got a promo code that can only be used to buy wedding rings.
At the time of my order, there was no clear mention that my deposit would be returned as a store credit instead of cash. If I had known that, I would never have agreed to it. It feels like a misleading marketing tactic.
I’ve noticed that the website now states that refunds are given as store credit, but this information was not there when I made my purchase. I feel misled and disappointed.
Instead of my money, I’m stuck with a promo code I have no use for, as my wedding has already taken place.
If you’re considering KARAAT’s services, be aware that they may not be as transparent as they seem. If this can happen with something as simple as a deposit, who knows what else might come up? Thankfully, I only lost 100 euros — it could have been much worse if I’d bought something more expensive.
I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.
