Update: while IPSY has issued a refund and a representative has taken the time to thoroughly explain their processes to me, both of which I do appreciate, it's clear from the many reviews this year alone that the issues (both diverse and overlapping) run deeper than what I experienced and there are multiple areas for this company to re-evaluate. IPSY may or may not already be internally working on such problems, but I believe it's important that potential customers have a well-rounded understanding of the state of the business as it is currently; for this reason, my review stands.
Original: I forgot to cancel my IPSY order before the next charge came in. When I was notified of the charge and it was noted that the order would not ship for another two days**, I immediately reached out to cancel the shipment and receive a refund. I received a response the day the shipment was scheduled to go out (yesterday) and told I wouldn't even be able to return the products for a refund once I received the package.
**It's worth noting, with prior orders the package was assembled/finished two days after the charge email, but the shipping itself began 5-8 days after said email. As of today, I have not yet received a shipping confirmation for this month's order. I also see a completely blank order history on my account now, even though I received orders the past two months.
This was my email response, to best reflect my thoughts:
"The greed is blatant. It would take very little on the part of IPSY to have their system send out automatic notifications so subscribers can cancel before being charged. There aren't even emails between the previous month's delivery and the next to act as an indirect reminder to cancel prior to being charged for the upcoming shipment; even if there were, they would not count as explicit warning of an incoming charge.
While I accept that I forgot to cancel before being charged again, I do not accept that IPSY can't take any responsibility for the lack of effort on their part to prevent this.
As I mentioned before, the order had not shipped at the time of reaching out, which is its own complaint; however, although I may not understand your shipping system, the inability to at least return sealed products/unopened packages doesn't say anything more than prioritizing profit over clients.
And at the end of the day, if profit is what really matters to IPSY, the business will likely ruin itself as the disinterest in continuing subscription-based services continues to grow among the general population."
Two stars only because the products themselves seem nice, but I don't know nearly enough about skincare/makeup products to speak to their quality/worth.

Prices increased the same month I started, and I honestly wouldn’t have enrolled knowing it was that price. Cancellation is difficult and customer service is non existent. App is glitchy and awful to navigate. Truly an awful experience. I’m STILL trying to cancel and it says my next payment is June. If I get charged I will be disputing with my bank and reporting the company for fraudulent activity.

Everything was fine with my first two Ipsy Original orders, plus I've bought over $200 from the shop that I was pleased with.The issues started when I upgraded fron the Original to the Extra subscription.I read that the deadline to upgrade for the May box was April 25, so I did this on April 24. This was to replace my Original subscription, not in addition to. Much to my surprise, I received a message that they were sending me an Extra April box ( in addition to my April Original). They chose my products.One of the main reasons I upgraded was so I could choose my 3 full sized products. When I checked out the products to choose for April to get an idea of what brands they carry, everything was already sold out. Pretty sure I'll be getting the leftovers, plus now I'll be charged for 2 boxes for May at $32 each.I've already spent over $200 in their shop in addition to my subscriptions so this was not in my budget.
So to summarize:
1) I upgraded my subscription from Ipsy Original to Ipsy Extra starting in May.
2) Even though I'd already received my subscriptiin for April, they went ahead and sent an additional box in April which won't arrive until May.
3) I'll be charged double for boxes I'll receive in May.
4) I chose this upgrade so that I could choose 3 of my products, but for the April box, I was not given this option.
I plan on cancelling my subscription as soon as I see what's in this April box. If I don't like the products, they will be returned
Their BOT was pretty useless.So is customer service.I messaged them right away concerning this matter before it was shipped and they refused to do anything.

The only reason Ipsy gets two stars instead of one is because their shop has a lot of great discounted items that have introduced me to products that I am willing to buy at full price. Byroe, Fenty, etc. The actual delivery service isn’t really all that personalized, too many white label products, and the energy that I had to invest in talking to a customer service rep just to actually get
my shipments delivered to me was mind boggling. The package never comes, you write to inquire about it, they make you wait two weeks, and then you get a replacement package that has none of the stuff you chose- just a bunch of useless leftovers and broken bronzer samples. More than half of the packages over a two year period would never have arrived if I hadn’t stayed on top of it. This has happened to so many people, I have to assume it is part of their business model.
My advice: Sign up for the service, after the first shipment immediately cancel the monthly shipment and stick to their store. Those orders always arrive for some reason, and they offer a lot of good stuff. Be aware that they make it tricky to cancel. Read everything so that you don’t do it incorrectly. And never click through their email Ads or they will automatically sign you back up for the subscription!

I was excited to try Ipsy when i first heard of them, now experiencing their services..i would not return or pay for a subscription. I did not receive everything i paid for..my first package was missing several items and after multiple attempts at email and customer support..i receive via mail 1 of the missing items. I was then informed that my other missing items wees out of stock..and would NOT receive that product in the future (something about product discontinuence) was never offered refund or alternative replacement product. They just took my money for products i partially received. I tried for months after that to get someone to help..no luck...i would NOT recommend..i still haven't received and been about a year now..

I had ordered with ipsy over 4 years ago. On several occasions I canceled my membership because I could not believe the amount of things they managed to screw up but you know what works perfectly fine? They're billing system. Yes there's nothing wrong with your billing system getting their money from you but when it comes to their orders you have missing items, Get bills for items that they don't have. They would keep setting the same blush duo. Never get my color tone correct, Forget about customer care.
I decided because I see a post on Instagram just to join them again and yup they managed to send my delivery 2 an address from 3 years ago despite the fact That I entered my new address manually. When I just logged in I could see my new address there but they sent it to my older so you have to waste your time with AI chat, the help to correct this because they don't have anybody working at the company to help you apparently.
So I'll cancel it once again because by the time I get help I, I will already be on a trip. And have to just ask for a refund and dispute the charges with my credit card company.. It's unbelievable..

I have never been more disgusted in a company in all my life. Second time in 6 months I've tried to subscribe to IPSY's Extra box and for the 2nd time in 6 months they have messed up my order (neither order ever made it to me) and they REFUSE to refund my money. They have taken my money and provided NOTHING. How does a company get away with this? Never again will I be fooled by them. Absolutely terrible service. Going back to Allure Beauty Box immediately!

My young daughter was on her phone and clicked on an ad for this company. Then all of a sudden, it created an account and subscription for her and charged her apple watch for the cost of the subscription. I tried to follow the instructions to cancel the subscription, but it only paused the subscription for 1 month. Then I communicated with a chat bot and it says it will cancel the subscription. I deleted her account for good measure and hope she won't be charged again. Scammers!

They basically take your money and offer zero customer service. They treat you like a sales funnel and that's it.
I don't feel like offering upwards of $500 annually to a company that doesn't care about its customers.
When I subscribed they immediately sent me the previous month's boxes with no choice on items. I emailed them to say I wanted to choose products per their service and didn't really get a reply - it was just a bot saying "I understand but....here's something cheerful!" I accepted it because I wanted to try the subscriptions by this company.
A few days later I signed up for beauty boost because it sounded like fun. Found out later they had a product in the boost I wanted to try. But the item wasn't in my box - I reached out to customer service and they told me my sign up was too late to receive the product for that month. Even though none of my boxes for the month had shipped at that time.
Suddenly they were more inflexible than a brick wall - either I got an AI bot acting cheerful while it totally ignored my concern/question, or a real person who treated me like crap - every message was glazed over with a syrupy sweet AI rewrite.

I’m so unhappy that I have attempted to cancel now for three months and I still continue to get charged. I have went through the app and Ipsy care. it is so hard to get a response or get anywhere, especially when you want to cancel or take a break. It’s super frustrating and makes me never want to come back.

I ordered these for two grandchildren who live in the same house. The older one was getting it for 2 years before her sister started getting them. When her sister started getting them, the older one no longer received hers. For six months I have been charged for both. However, no one is responding with a solution. They will not allow a phone call. You must use their AI. Then I have received 3 emails that say the same thing, Everything is fine. IT IS NOT. They have the WORST customer service I have ever dealt with. Do not order from them.

honestly, first off the overall rating of this company just shows how far people have gone to be ignorant. I do believe that in the beginning the products, both brand and size, for the price of the box were much more enticing but have any reviewers seen the prices out there? I believe they should have stuck with the one level of box, so the "original" and used subcategories instead of merch size. The focus would be less quantity/size and more on quality with quantity across the board. Otherwise, as a single mom of 3 sons living in the city...I'm ok with my monthly staying young {-looking} cost!😊

was a cute concept at first but items seemingly never align with my answers for the quiz. I asked for darker berries and neutrals and all I ever seem to get are pinks. I also get a lot of the same products just different brands, in my three months for having ipsy I’ve gotten three different cleansers and no other type of skin care. It also seems like they’ve sent significantly less this month compared to my last couple of months? Would recommend for one month but cancel immediately after, more than one month is not worth it.

I haven't even ordered yet and I'm not impressed. Why do you offer deals that are as low as 2.50 to get started and the other one is always 4$ but when its time to pay it's 35$ If you don't have a 2.50 deal or an actual 4$ deal to start then don't advertise that you do .

As a medical doctor who specializes in skin. Anti aging and all that it entails, I thought it might be fun and educational to use and evaluate products my patients are using as well as see ingredients/products trending. I continue to be extremely disappointed.. colors are always wrong, 2/5 products are actually full size, when paying for 5 full size products. I have received 5 eyeshadow palettes in the row and low quality/caliber products. I only stayed on this long because I have been too busy to log on and cancel. I have given so much away due to incompatible color matches and redundancy.

Oh Ipsy let me down big time .
One they have no customer support in place really, no number to call, it’s only emails that get answered every 24 hours, so even getting to a solution (if you do) takes forever .
For the last I’d say ehhh 8 months I was charged for my bag, never received it . At first they said the shipping address was wrong . Contacted the post office . Got it fixed . Still never received anything . Contacted Ipsy again, they said they “don’t do refunds” which really you don’t do refunds ?? What ? So they resent me a redo bag. Never got it . They kept saying the address was wrong but it was the same address as I was getting other mail from ?
After relentlessly trying to fix this situation more than the company seemed to care, I canceled and guess I’m out of close to $200 with zero product.
I will definitely be telling every single person I know to stay away from this company.
Completely terrible service overall. Can’t believe a company would screw over a paying customer like that, but it’s America so makes sense.
