We are 2020 Queen's Award for Enterprise Winners, specialising in the design and manufacture of Ballroom & Latin American dance shoes and make all of our shoes in Milton Keynes, UK. Our collection offers shoes for ladies, gentlemen and children and our shoes by worn by many of the world's leading dancers, as well as dancers from BBC's popular 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

Excellent product

Excellent product! My husband loves the shoes, but shipping costs were about half the cost of the shoes. If you can't find something closer to home, these are a great option!

Ordering locally is an option though! The link below is for our store locator and while you may not have a store that sells our shoes in your immediate vicinity, you could order online within the US and benefit from lower shipping costs vs. ordering from the UK.

I can't get an answer about the width…

I reached a helpful person via telephone. I was trying to place an order before I left town and in order to get the sale price. The e-mail reply just wasn't specific enough and I was getting frustrated. I placed an order for a latin shoe as well as a ballroom shoe I am hoping I was able to get the information I needed to order correctly

We're quite sad about this review. We'd received emails from you on Wednesday evening (28th June) about fitting advice and our team came back to you on Thursday with a comprehensive reply + attachments on the information that'd help determine sizes. This was in addition to directing you to all of the information on heels too.

And a couple of hours after these emails, you placed an order - and then came and added a 1-star review!

Sad to see. 1-star reviews are damaging and when our team have been responding in a timely manner, giving advice, and it leads to an order, it's just something that doesn't seem overly justified.

We hope that you enjoy your shoes when they arrive and that we get a more positive review then.

My favorite brand for dance shoes

I've purchased so many different brands of dance shoes when I was an amateur. Now I'm a professional and, in my experience, these shoes support my feet efficiently. I feel contained, secure, and stable. My favorite brand.

DHL import taxes are outrageous !

I bought dance shoes for 103 pounds and paid 25 pounds for transport of dance shoes to Netherlands. Import taxes would be low but I had to pay almost 50 pounds to DHL, that is 47% of purchase costs and sounds ridiculous to me !!!

Dear Udo,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry that you have had trouble with import fees. Part of that 47% will be the local VAT (because with Brexit now, instead of paying VAT to us, you pay it locally when arriving)|. I understand that will be 21% in the Netherlands.

There might be a clearance fee but this shouldn't be high. And you should not have paid duty, because the shoes are of UK origin. We recommend that you go back to DHL, and first ask them for a breakdown of the charges - because 'duty' shouldn't be on there due to goods being made in the UK (which are duty free as part of the agreement)

We are also working on some adjustments to our website which will soon allow for VAT to be paid on order for European orders (plus in the local currency) which would remove these issues. We're sorry that this doesn't help for this order, but we're making changes in order to make it easier for dancers in Europe to order our shoes, and keep costs as low as possible.

The heal is smaller than what I am used…

The heal is smaller than what I am used to and found it to be less stable than the shoes that I wore in the past.

Thanks for taking the time to review us. Tried to look up your order history via our website but seems this was the first order we have, so it's hard to see what you ordered before. The Contra shoe does have a slightly smaller heel in terms of surface area than the Gibson/Oxford shoe though, so perhaps you might have worn that before if this one feels smaller. Nothing has changed to the Contra heel shape/size, which makes us think that perhaps you ordered a different shoe before. I was amazed by the international customer service, with the care and competence with which they followed all the phases of the shoe change.

The ballroom shoes got the correct…

The ballroom shoes got the correct extra wide width as specified, the length is on the tight side, since there is absolutely no extra space at the toes.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Glad that the extra wide fitting is good, but if the length is tight then you may need to go half a size up because the extra wide fitting relates only to the width rather than the length.

I specifically ordered a narrow fit and…

I specifically ordered a narrow fit and the shoe came as narrow/wide as the regular model I have at home… basically I spent extra money to order from the UK specifically for the narrow costume making for nothing, huge disappointment

We're very sorry to hear that the shoes didn't fit and we do offer an extra narrow fitting too if things are not quite tight enough. Unfortunately we sent this order out on the 6th April, so we wouldn't be able to accept an exchange in June.
