2000 tax debt then loose an extra 1000 which they cant tell me when it is

They asked 3 times if we had business receipts, we confirmed we had. Then, they said they lodged the return. However, they then 'unlodged it'?! And asked the same questions again!! We rang to complain and spoke to William, who said my wife needed to call(which she had already done 3 times), and he said she hadn't, even though I had a screenshot of the calls! When I complained to the manager Ilana, she refused to talk to me and hung up!! With friends like these...who needs enemies!!

DONT USE THIS FIRM!!!

The cairns office is unprofessional in my dealings and just pushed me and my tax returns back.

When complained to Head office the weakest excuse doesn't have capacity, so why is H & R Block opening a new office in Smithfield.

For any reader of this review if you have been unprofessionally treated and you clean prove this, report them to the Tax Practitioners Board .

It took 2 months to receive my tax returns when it was a simple in office appointment. Never using them ever again. Considering how the same thing happened last year too

I went to the H&R Block Noosa Civic branch in person to file for my tax return. The employees first remark to me was that I was "too beautiful to look at" while he stared at his computer. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and he then proceeded to tell me that he had been WATCHING me all day, while I was walking around the centre. At this point I just wanted to get the meeting over and done with so that I could leave as soon as possible. He told me that I would receive my tax return within at most 10 buisness days. After 14 buisness days, I had not received any of my tax return; so I decided to call the branch phone number listed online. I called a total of 11 times and was sent to voicemail each time. I was then sent an email after 15 business days telling me that they had finally completed the documentation on their side which was meant to be completed on the original day I went in person. Even now; 3 weeks after the appointment, I have only received one years worth of the three years of tax I filed for. I felt so dehumanised by the employee and reduced to my attire. After the initial appointment, I was so upset with the things the employee had said to me and way I had been treated. I would absolutely never recommend this company to anyone. I have never been so displeased by a service that I paid several hundred dollars for, from a company that claims to be professional.

Do not use this companey you are dealing with no english speaking, no knowledge of anything... waist your time. I am still hoping to deal with some decent accountant from overseas staff.

Applied to use the online expert service, but seemed to have limited expertise. Only used documents I uploaded and I had to ask specific questions to check if what had been entered was correct, as were a number of errors.

A number of agreed charges were added without any prior consent

Easy to fill in my tax return, easy to communicate with to provide documents along the way. Timely communication.

Absolutely the worst tax service I’ve ever experienced. Despite my tax return being very straightforward, they showed little understanding of the type of work I do and provided no confidence that they knew what they were doing. Paying $200 for such poor service was a complete waste of money.

I used this company over 35 years ago and hoped things would have improved, but unfortunately, nothing has changed. I won’t be returning and certainly wouldn’t recommend them to anyone looking for knowledgeable, professional tax advice.

Until today I was a regular returning client of H&R Block Marrickville in Sydney's inner west (and had left a glowing review on google in the past) but after my most recent experience I'll never come back. I referred my wife to see this H&R Block after years of positive appointments for my own tax returns, but today we had a really disrespectful experience with Ashwin Chaudhari.

From the moment we sat down he treated my wife with attitude and a condescending tone that made us feel unwelcome.

My wife came prepared, with itemised receipts for all her tax claims, and Ashwin spent 20 minutes discrediting every claim she had (including expenses that she has succesfully claimed for years), showed a complete disinterest in understanding her career or professional development, and even questioned her ability to send an email with relevant documents to their office address.

We got up and left mid-way through after being completely put off by his attitude.

We're no shrinking violets, but Ashwin, you need to seriously check your rudeness if you ever expect to retain clients. As a result, H&R Block has now lost two clients who would've been rusted on based on previous experiences. Good riddance, and I feel bad for the previous tax agents who provided me a top notch service. AVOID.

I just had a thoroughly disappointing tax return experience with Ashwin Chaudhari at the Marrickville branch; to the point where I had zero confidence my return would be done correctly and left halfway through the appointment.

I attended my appointment with my husband, who referred me as a previously happy customer, and from the moment we sat down, Ashwin gave me an attitude that left me with the impression he didn't think I had any idea what I was doing, and he thought I was an idiot. Right down to him not believing that I could type an email address correctly (and him checking I spelled it correctly) because an email wasn't coming through. It did come through, however, because I can, in fact, read and spell.

I came prepared to my appointment, with a detailed spreadsheet that I have used for many other tax returns, including an itemised list of my personal and business expenses grouped by quarter, my receipts, and all my other relevant documentation.

Ashwin then spent the next 25 minutes questioning everything, telling me that things that I have been eligible to claim in the past are not eligible and talking down to me as if I were a child.

He then said that I would have to go and come back another day so he could work on my return, despite my being only 20 minutes into my appointment that was scheduled for 60-90 minutes.

I felt so uncomfortable and belittled, feelings my husband agreed were entirely justified, that I no longer wanted to continue, and at that point had very little faith my return would be done correctly and appropriately, so I got up and left. I calmly told Ashwin the reason why, mentioned I didn't appreciate his attitude, and that I would be going elsewhere.

There was no apology or excuse made, but I will leave Ashwin to explain to H&R Block why one previously rostered on client, and a potential new one, will never return to this or any branch again.

I advise anyone who doesn't want to be belittled or seen as a nuisance to go elsewhere too.

Terrible service. They ask a question online ans I respond immediately. 2 days later they respond again, I answer, 2 days later they respond. To lodge a basic tax return takes forever. Bad advice, and have no idea about what you are able to claim. The worst decision to use this company again. Dont waste your time ETAX way better and know their stuff. I think these people are online overseas!

Super dodgy. Even after you say you are not proceeding with their service because their online system is inaccessible, and you don’t give them permission to retain your information- they continue to have your information to hound you about continuing with their service. Every time a different person is contacting you. I even had someone apologise and confirm my record has been updated as not continuing. And then since then I’ve been hounded again. I wish I’d known how bad they would be- don’t give them your information.

This is the worst tax experience ive had, it was extremly ling winded with nil regard for helping me. I would never again use this service, im pretty sure i was talking to multiple people over messages not 1 person. I asked for advice they did not provide any value to me at all. Total disgrace and waste of my time and money causing so much stress and frustration, do yourself a favour and give them a miss

Incorrect lodgement timing advice and incredibly poor communication after I emailed in March with no reply, then was told in April my FY25 return could be lodged under a May timeline.

ATO later showed April due date with interest applied due to it being treated as overdue, and I was informed the correct due date was 31 March.

Charged $519 for a simple return despite “from $109” pricing. Overall very poor value and misleading guidance.

Would not recommend H&R block and especially Five Dock branch to anyone.

All they do is put the numbers and ask you to pay.

Horrible customer service, managing team will gas light you if you have any issues with the service.

Avoid this clowns at all costs.

I would rate a zero if possible - never get back to me, people leave and just keep getting invoices to pay and no work has been done and have to move to another company

Terrible experience with no follow ups or professionalism. paid early and was now being asked to pay again. Incompetent and i have been contemplating legal action as I am over companies taking us for a ride........will never use them again. The reviews are pretty bad already, we need to tell everyone how bad they are and run them out of business...

My husband and I attended the Belmont branch to have our returns done. Paid on the spot. only to learn two weeks later that the returns were never filed. Have called and was advised it was done but then only one submitted. Called again and even after speaking to a district manager return still not filed. What a disaster.
