Fraudulent
I have been charged twice in one day from your business even though I have never used your services or even heard of it until checking the unauthorized transactions details, which says Etax accountants Upper Mount. Very suspicious that the transactions were processed at 3:30am and 4:30am.

Please let us clarify what has happened in response to your original queries - as a tax agent, we are registered to provide tax advice only. We do not hold a financial license which is required in Australia to legally provide financial advice, which is what your original questions related to. We apologise this wasn't made clear to you, when you first enquired with us.
In addition to the above, we have escalated your file to our senior leaders. We understand that one of them sent you a detailed secure message via your Etax account on Monday which provides some general information and some resources from which you will hopefully be able to get the assistance you need. Long-term Customer experience
I’ve been a loyal Etax client for the past 5 years, so this experience has been quite disappointing.
After paying the initial lodgement fees upfront, I was later told I needed to pay additional CGT fees before my return could be processed. This came as a surprise and feels unfair, especially since my tax situation is no more complex than in previous years, where no extra fees were charged.
To be clear:
I only had 10 crypto transactions, for which I already paid $50 to Koinly to generate compliant tax reports.
My share broker (Stake) provided full profit/loss and dividend calculations for free.
There was no material change in complexity compared to prior years.
At this point, I feel pressured into paying extra just to receive my tax refund, despite having already paid Etax in advance. I raised this concern via email and was told a team member would contact head office to see if the additional fees could be waived. I’m still awaiting a resolution.
As a long-term customer who trusted Etax enough to pay upfront, this situation has left a bad impression. If I were in their position, I would honour the originally agreed fee—especially when the complexity hasn’t changed.
I hope Etax reviews how they communicate fees and treats returning customers, as this experience has significantly reduced my confidence in their service.
Update - They reached out to me within 24 hours and waived off the CGT fees.

We understand one of our team leaders attempted to contact you last week but they haven't been able to speak with you. When we were unable to reach you over the phone, our senior accountant has followed up with detailed secure messages to offer a resolution to your concerns and progress your return. We believe you have now provided us with approval to lodge your return and we will lodge this as soon as possible.
