Very poor. Paid for basic check then had to pay more to get the basic details. Website didn't update my report and I'm out the extra £4.99 their support doesn't open at weekends. Very poor. Avoid

They wont update incorrect vehicle records.
First of all had to wait for over a week to get a reply. When I did get one, the email was absolutely useless. I asked for them to at least refer me to the people that they took their information from and they just said from an insurance company. I had contacted DVLA made sure that all things are squared away (and they are) checked my logbook. This vehicle is clean, but they refuse to acknowledge.

Has information about my car that is false, asked for it to be rectified as legally obliged under GDPR and they wont as they say info came from insurance company ebmven though the car wasn't insured at the time. Now they don't respond to emails

HPI offered a 3 car check for £29.99 and I paid as I am looking to purchase a car privately. After the first check I entered a second vehicle to be told I have to pay £9.99. I challenged it and asked for a refund or allow me access. They refunded £9.99 thus ended up paying full for one check. Be aware, this could be an expensive way of checking your car. I'm off to Car Vertical!

When a dealer who was initially interested in buying my car, they told there was a mileage discrepancy. 3 telephone calls, 3 emails and £19.99 lighter (I had to purchase a report in order for them to speak to me about my own car) and despite providing them with accurate key readings including mileage from the dealership (who were brilliant and sent the report by email as I was on the phone to them) I still.havr not resolved this issue and cannot sell my car. NMR is a company run by HPI themselves yet they have confirmed today they cannot verify the mileage, do not guarantee their information despite claiming to (check the T&Cs) and i believe should not be publishing inaccurate and misleading information they have not verified. I am appalled by what they are allowed to be doing and so am contacting Consumer protection/Trading Standards as they are making money out of false information.

After waiting 30 minutes to get thru on the phone, it was waste of time trying to resolve a mileage issue, the person I spoke to wasn’t very knowledgeable and would investigate unless I purchased a HPI report. Completely useless as I was ringing up on behalf of my daughter !!

This company is not fit for purpose. Their data is not up to date and they do not answer the phones. However if you want to buy something magically all the waiting on the phone disappers. SCAM company. Avoid at all costs.

Top work. Used this one after having problems with totalcarcheck.com suppling me incorrect info that would stop the sale of the car and would do anything to help. Used this within 24 hours into was corrected. Top work

Wors hpi check website !!!! Absolutely rubbish!!! Pay for 3 you got 1 and totally mess with information!!! Don't use never again!! Garbage!

Do not use this Hpi check service. They are frauds and shameless people. Their offer of £29.99 for 3 Hpi checks never works. You will get only 1 report for £29.99 in the greed of 3 HPI checks.
I wasted £29.99 two times in the last two years. If you phone they company, it will be long hold for more than hours. Total frustration, dodgy and shameless.

Did an hpi check on a potential purchase, subsequently bought the car, by the time documentation from DVLA came through, tried to update the vehicle record but unable to do so, apparently there’s a time limit??

Waste of time. Consumer service is horrible. They have a website with a number which if called points back to the same website. They only provide support via web chat.

Had an account for years and honestly the set up and staff are a shambles !! Please avoid opening an account they do not deserve the business shoddy run company V CHECK OR EXPERIAN is who i will be moving to rude staff take payments when not due of your account and after reading their reviews we cant all be wrong !!

Their systems lag so far behind the DVLA, they do not appear to implement the updates given by the DVLA (although all their competitors have no problem doing this).

So I am currently stuck with a vehicle that I’m unable to sell because HPI holds the wrong information for it and has not updated from the DVLA.

Received a letter this morning from Solera asking me to confirm the mileage of a car that I'd recently sold. The car in question had previously had a private plate on it, but I didn't expect any problems as the letter recognised this giving both the private number and the previous DVLA allocated number plate. However it took me 4 attempts to get beyond the number plate entry because of the spacing of the letters/numbers.
Once past this point I answered all the questions but was unable to submit the form. It just came up with "Error: Sorry something went wrong please try again"
. What a waste of time! Solera needs to sort out it's IT.

Car was Stolen. Purchased a car from John Pye auctions who claim they had a clear HPI for the car. I sold the car on and within an hour the police had impounded it as they said it was stolen. I performed a check which did say it was in fact stolen. John pye sent me a copy of their report which does state the car is clear. HPIs response was well the police didn’t update us. They must of used a different company so not our problem you should of checked the car with us before purchasing it (despite they are supposed to be a professional car auctioneer) and there is nothing I can do. No car no money out of pocket over £2000. Conclusion HPI don’t guarantee anything and it’s too bad.

Received a letter this morning asking me to log in to the website and verify the mileage on a car that I recently part exchanged at a MINI dealership. One of Solera's vehicle dealerships has done an HPI check on it and they need it verifying for the National Mileage Register. The Mileage is available on the DVLA MOT website which is available to everyone and shows no anomalies? Sorry I won't be replying...

This company is shocking they should be barred from doing business have been trying to sell my car through goodbuycar and currently waiting on HPI removing incorrect mileage they have against car it's absolutely disgraceful that this company operate with impunity and stop honest folk from selling genuine car hope HPI read this and have the balls to reply

Had used hpi for years , but no longer
The app is totally not user friendly, it’s just about impossible to top up your account , no facility on the app and after 3 phone calls and 2 emails I gave up after no response back I now use motor check , very user friendly great app and reports
