Kian was very polite and helpful in my search of a new property
Awful. Raised rent extortionately, expected me to know to increase my standing order payments somehow before I’d even received the updated tenancy agreement. Rude and insensitive, told us we were in arrears and expected us to find the extra money despite it being their mistake. Avoid.

You get what you pay for :(
I was so excited to come across a company service like Howsy to manage my rental property after years of overpriced London estate agencies commission fees. But I was really disappointed with Howsys service.
They take AGES to reply to emails about property problems and you have to constantly chase them to reply.
They also at the end of my property’s tenancy deducted hundreds of pounds off a deposit of £750 that was owed directly to me, deducting tax where it was not taxable, double-charging me twice for repairs I had long since paid for and when I queried that along with proof of payments from my account they took weeks and weeks to refund me my money they had wrongfully deducted and not once did they apologise to me for all their mistakes.
I say you get what you pay for and would rather pay higher comission for a reliable service of property manager. Would not recommend:(

Howsy worked hard to get to a position where she had moved out, they then claimed costs against her deposit for me and provided me with the written evidence to support my successful small claims process.

My year living in a property managed by Howsy was genuinely awful. The house we moved into was dirty, moldy and damaged. After reporting damages it would take months to get a response, if at all, and would require multiple emails and phone calls.
Our housemate was disabled and forced to sleep on a broken bed, which left her in daily pain. The people at Howsy did not care and made no effort to fix it. We ultimately had to contact the landlords directly who provided us with a bed and removed the old one.
The landlords repeatedly complained about Howsy, and on the very rare occasions handymen were sent round to fix things, they complained about them too. Howsy are bad for tenants, bad for landlords, and bad for anyone tangentially associated with them.
In a final and humorous endnote, I left a complaint on another review website last year mentioning the above, and Howsy replied below saying they would get back to me about the complaint. They never did, and I cannot say I was at all surprised. If I could score them lower than 1/5 I would.

This business model is a hostile experience for customers and makes the whole process of being a tenant a deeply unpleasant experience. Staff who do not care, a model that blames the customer and puts all the burdens on you, even for arranging visits with inspectors, and a really poor level of data accuracy.

Only positive is the low managment fee but outside of this, landlords need to invest much time due to incompetent in chasing and chasing to get things actioned in a timely manner. Even after many follow up’s, there is a regular theme of cherry picking and responding to some aspects and ignoring other aspects. Often it has taken months to get a response after many follow-up’s. Extremely poor systems and communication!
Have previously escalated the matter but poor service levels remains. Clearly not a sustainable fix!
Makes me think all the 5 star reviews on google with only 1 review people are fake reviews to drum up Business!

Very disappointed with service over the past couple of years so will no longer be using Howsy - I have been let down with poor contractors who have overcharged and duplicated work and it took over a year and numerous attempts to secure a refund of costs incorrectly deducted from my account. To top it off I cannot get a response to my recent emails, or a phone call answered, to find out where my flat keys are despite checkout being conducted over three weeks ago - I have a new tenant to move in in two days and no keys - wholly unacceptable!
Edit: Phone was eventually answered and Charlie was helpful in getting a clerk to deliver one set of keys today which allowed me to move in the new tenant. Still need a further set returned. Checkout was also poorly performed with an incomplete reconciliation to checkin inventory and lots of obvious cleaning oversights. I will be managing the property myself going forward.

Extremely unprofessional and has cost me a lot of time and money that my move in appointment was delayed from the 1st August to 3rd. Was informed of this delay only one day before, and only after I had to call to confirm.
On top of that, I was not informed of what time I can move in until 5pm the day before the move in date. And I was given just one option, 6:30pm, an extremely late timing to move and exactly during rush hour.
Expressed dissatisfaction to Howsy who could only offer "The experience you had here was obviously not ideal and I do hope we can begin on a better foot moving forward."

Too many contacts BUT no reply even after many times email communication, do not want to return keys when the letting contract finish, absolutely will not use this on line letting agent again!!!!

Yet another one star review and well deserved. I booked a viewing with Howsy and the agent didn't even bother to turn up. I even had a text message an hour before reminding me of the viewing. I stood there in the street like an idiot for nearly an hour and a half and two other people came for their viewings in that time. Tried calling but as it was a Sunday the offices were closed. I tried to leave a voice message but as soon as the beep happened to leave the message I was cut off. I got back and emailed them telling them what had happened and said I was still interested in the property. They couldn't even be bothered to reply and apologize. All I can assume is that they had let it to someone else and couldn't be bothered to let me and the others know that the viewing was cancelled. This is the last thing you need when you've been evicted from your home and desperately need somewhere else to live. TOTALLY unprofessional. Disgusting behavior. They obviously don't care about people once there is no money in it for them. VOID OF ALL EMPATHY. All it would take was to make a 15 second phone call, a text or an email. They did NOTHING. Avoid them at all costs.
Like many others, I wish there was a zero star option. They don't deserve 1 star.
*UPDATE. These clowns responded to my review the next day and claimed someone would be in touch. As predicted, 5 weeks later, still nothing. All they are doing is public damage control, they had no intention of contacting me. Shows what blatant liars they are and again TOTALLY unprofessional. If you are reading this Howsy, seriously, don't bother getting in touch with me, you're done. Too little too late. Despicable behaviour.

Such a amazing company they have been so professional, helpful, understanding, kind and friendly i can't fault them at all only praise them, they managed the property with the up most professional standard and even went out of their way to resolve issues and help me in time of great distress, i am sad that i am not longer with them but i would highly recommend them and would be happy to live under there management anyday i would even rate them top 2 landlord or management i have ever met
