Just moved house. I was charged £63 in admin charges for my campervan insurance. If you think you are going to make any changes mid policy, you really need to check their terms and conditions on admin charges, they are eye watering. This will include adding drivers, removing drivers, moving house. Be aware.

It was brilliant getting through to a human being without any telephone menus, and throughout the call Will displayed a thorough knowledge of the insurance quote process and was able to help me with sensible answers to questions no other insurance brokers had been able to help me with. I feel confident that the quote he has provided me with is based on full and sound information, that I have declared everything honestly and that if I accept the quote there won't be any nasty lashbacks later - this was very important to me. I was fortunate to speak fairly speedily with Sam who patiently went through the process of finding me a home contents package to suit my situation. He did this with admirable efficiency as well as courtesy and made me feel he was an advocate for me not just a Howden’s representative and advocate. That is also a rare quality these days. I was referred to Howdens (Maidenhead) by a friend who uses them. I spoke to Jed and he was able to organise two new policies for bike and car - the car policy was actually cheaper than my current year !

They made buying historic tractor insurance so easy and were very obliging to email me the necessary papers to meet the legal requirements. Really helpful and nice people to deal with. Pleased they have kept high st offices- should I need to visit in person.

I've bought insurances from Howdens Chichester for many years when they were A-Plan. This year my home insurance renewal was nearly double last year's. Paddy at Howdens tried extremely hard to find out why it was so high, especially as I had got a whole list of offers via Confused.com, some a quarter the price.

I elected to go with one and paid my annual policy. But to our horror a week before our current insurance (Integra) expired we had a water leak somewhere between ceiling and roof. As we had home emergency cover we claimed on that but the plumber and roofer who investigated couldn't find the problem. We were told to deal with things ourselves. Which we did. A plumber cut a hole in the ceiling from which water gushed out of a broken joint.

Our new insurer (PolicyExperts) cancelled our cover and Paddy was very helpful offering useful guidance on dealing with insurances and how to get insurance cover to fit our needs.

Completely screwed over by Toyota Insurance - Howden’s to the rescue!
