Hatchways is an amazing platform that bridges gaps not only in terms of skillset but most importantly in terms professionalism and how things actually work in the industry. I found it helpful despite having some years of professional experience. Finally, there team is genuine and talented. There maybe some people out there putting efforts to help us land a job but Hatchways is unique and just super awesome.

Hatchways has really helped me develop both as a job applicant and as a professional developer. They take a thoughtful approach to assist in your job search by taking the time to get to know you as a person, your technical ability, and what you want from a career. I find their technical vetting process is much more accurate and relevant than the standard online coding exams.

Shums was incredibly responsive, helpful, and supportive. He spent a significant amount of time reviewing my work, mock interviewing me, and connecting me with companies I never would have found on my own.

Hatchways helped me find a position in less than a month - in an economic depression!

They offer one of the best programs for new employees! I was able to get a new job after completing the co-op program in Hatchways, so I greatly thank them for their effort!

Hatchways was a great experience and they really helped me find a great full-time job as a software developer. Their co-op program helped me build skills I needed to stand out as a developer and they also helped me master the interviewing process. I highly recommend Hatchways for anyone especially if you are having trouble finding a job after university or Bootcamp. For the co-op program, you first build a full-stack application with other developers, then move onto an internship phase, and then finally enter an interviewing phase where you practice algorithms, technical and behavioral questions every week based on which companies you are interviewing with. I don't think I would have been able to land a job if it wasn't for Hatchways!

I was accepted into Hatchway's Coop program so that will be the focus of this review.

One of the reasons why I chose to accept the offer into this program was the fact that employers almost never provide you with feedback on why they didn't pick you.

As an example. I could have said something that killed my chances at getting a position and not know about it. Making that same mistake over and over would be devastating. Hatchways provided me with valuable feedback on what I should and should not say in an interview.

The coop program is divided into 3 phases, the first phase is to work together with a fully remote team to develop a working product using a modern tech stack like MERN. This phase gave me valuable insights into how an agile team functions, as well as how to work with co-workers. It also changed my expectations of what it feels like to work in a modern agile team. They provided a ton of feedback on what to do, how to do.

In the second phase, Hatchways connects you with a variety of partners so you could be employed on a contract for 3 months. Hatchways provides weekly checkups to make sure you are okay as well as remain there for you if you need help.

The third phase is supposedly resume refinement and more detailed interview preparation. I didn't need to go through phase 3. Which brings me to say that their program fees are very reasonable: only pay up to whichever phase you entered into. If you get a job anytime before that phase, you don't pay for it.

The key to their whole program is feedback feedback and feedback. As someone who doesn't have a CS degree and is almost completely self taught (never even went to bootcamp) the Hatchways Coop program accelerated my career by probably up to a year or two. Instead of driving around blind, having someone help you out makes things a lot easier

I think hatchways should be considered as an option in your job hunting strategy portfolio.

Hatchways is also operated by a leadership who cares about the people they work with. They feel very genuine in the way they try their best to be there for you when you need them the most.

I recommend them 11/10.

I had an amazing experience with Hatchways during and after my project-based course.

During the course I was trained on how to work effectively in a dev team - learned all about how to manage work flow, communicate with and support team members, do sprint plannings and daily stand-ups, ... honestly just about everything technical and nontechnical you need to be prepared with for your first dev job, especially in an agile environment. By the end of the course you'll have a project on your portfolio that you can confidently talk about in any interview!

Hatchways' help does not stop when the course is over, but continues until you land a job (of course only if you yourself put enough efforts into the process as well). They offered me interview preps which helped me a lot with my confidence, and I got my current job after the second interview they set up for me (which is an amazing job by the way!). Can't thank them enough for their enthusiasm in helping developers like me in breaking into the tech world!

Overall I am and will be forever thankful for what the people behind Hatchways have done that brought me to where I am right now - junior, yet a very good start, beyond any of my imaginations!

Hatchways is amazing. I can't recommend them enough to anyone who is in search of their first software developer job. Very friendly bunch of people, highly supportive. They understand where you stand and what you need. The interview preps and feedback are on point. Finding that first job as a new grad or a new immigrant is unbelievably stressful. I'm glad Hatchways made it their mission to help people like me.

And most importantly, you'll land a job.

Hatchways accelerated my job search tremendously. I got an offer from the first interview they set up for me. Their interview process is straight forward and they're super helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone trying to break into software engineering

Definitely recommend - they were absolutely stellar in helping me with my job search process. I found them as a bootcamp grad with next-to-no network in the SF tech area, and they helped me improve my interview process until I landed my first position a month later.

What they offer:
Pre-interview prep. They'll tell you what to expect in a given interview, as well as provide some background info on the company.
Post-interview unpacking. Shums was very helpful in helping identify why some interviews went poor, or helping me identify points where I could improve.
One-on-one sessions. We spent these sessions tackling things I struggled with, such as whiteboarding problems or other similar interview pitfalls.

Would recommend again, they were communicative and helpful throughout the entire process.

Making a career change is a difficult process, and I was incredibly happy to feel like I had the Hatchways team in my corner. From the practice of working on their assessment, to their time spent mock interviewing me to their encouragement and support, they were an invaluable resource.

I’m currently working as a software developer. I would not be where I am right now without Hatchways. The company-candidate matching system found the perfect company for me. Also, I was able to be confident in interviews with the interview preps by them. I reckon it is the win-win platform for both employers and candidates

Hatchways platform gave me hope and the excellent training that landed me my first job. I honestly thought it was all about getting a BSc to getting a job in this industry. Which is not true at all. With a the right roadmap and practice and hatchways connections can help you land your first internship.

I wish I had found out about Hatchways sooner. I joined their project-based development course, where I engaged in hands-on practice through which I learned a great amount. I got to work on a full-stack project with in-demand technologies. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to work in a small team, which definitely added to the learning experience as I was used to building projects on my own.

But even before I started the course, Hatchways was already getting me interviews. All of the companies that Hatchways introduced me to had very interesting products/services. The companies that they found were real hidden gems, as their job openings weren't always on common job boards. In addition to getting interviews, they also offered amazing interview prep sessions. They would always find time to work with me, which I am so grateful for. Thanks to Hatchways, I ended up interviewing at a company that I had been interested in for a while, and which eventually hired me!

Hatchways is a great way to start building up experience to help you land your first job. I participated in their project-based development course, where I built a project from scratch with a team of other developers under the guidance of the Hatchways team. This gave me experience working with many tools and technologies for the first time, as well as my first taste of collaborating with other developers in a professional setting. This combined with the support of the Hatchways team was what helped me get my first job in development.

Hatchways is awesome. They not only find you positions that you may not find otherwise but they take the time to coach you and make sure you are ready. Didn't take long to find a position that fit!

A good learning experience that helped me work with others remotely and helped me with technical and behavioral interview prep to get a job.

I only have great things to say about Hatchways. I applied last year shortly after completing a software engineering program. Since I didn't have any relevant work experience it wasn't easy to get that first job as software engineer. What I liked about hatchways was how much time they took to learn about my experiences, skills and interests. They were able to find several opportunities for me and even helped me prepare for the interviews. Throughout the whole process I learned a lot about my unique skills and in which areas I needed improvement. I ended up taking an offer from one of the companies that Hatchways matched me with and I've been extremely satisfied with the role. I can't thank them enough and I hope that they continue to help out other candidates that are looking for their first job!

When I applied to Hatchways, they gave me a very flexible coding challenge and I was assured that someone would personally read my code and make an evaluation rather than some auto tested software that just cared about answers. After a few weeks, they reached out to me and did one more interview before setting me up for interviews with a number of companies (one of which I work now because of Hatchways). The aspects of hatchways I like most was a faster streamlined process and that it helps with finding more interviews with startups. I am grateful that I applied through them to get to where I am now. I would recommend this primarily for college students that have the skill and want to work for startups and gain more experience.
