SAY NO TO DOUBLING AGREED PRICE
My fault, I failed to read the many trust pilot bad reviews prior to booking Handy Rubbish. Its crew arrived on time at the correct place and set about re-assessing the previously assessed charge by almost DOUBLE. Nothing had changed since a full set of photos had been submitted to James, John & Mr Williams. But they said the price agreed by Handy Rubbish was too low and must almost double. It seems Handy Rubbish made a low bid to get the job and now its crew wanted to exploit my vulnerability by jacking the price way up. I said NO, NO, NO!

Extremely dishonest company. Quoted me a per kg cost for rubbish removal up to £230 for 500kg. Knowing that I had less than 500kg I rechecked numerous times that a per kg cost would be charged and no more. On the day of collection collectors turned up 2 hours later than the booked window for collection & then told me they wouldn't weigh the rubbish, but charge the full £230. I wasn't happy with this so told them to leave (after numerous phone calls with the customer team, and a lengthy conversation with the person who quoted the per kg removal cost). Get a call from their team a few hours later asking what happened and why I'd cancelled - but only because they'd attempted to take a cancellation fee from my credit card which I had blocked. I explained I hadn't cancelled but they had tried to overcharge me on collection and I'd refused to pay their price. I was then offered for someone to return to collect the rubbish for £50 less - which would STILL have gone against the original quoted per kg price. I refused this and let them know I don't have any trust in their company, they'd wasted hours of my time that day and therefore would not deal with them any further. Avoid this company at all costs. A dishonest and unethical way of working.

Avoid. One of the companies that will quote you one thing and charge a lot more, like other reviews say, should have read them myself! No matter the precise description, no matter the photos, they overcharge. Absolutely horrible professional practice and you’ll never know what you’ll have to pay, it could honestly be anything.

Absolute scam- best avoid unless you want to get fleeced

DISHONEST BUSINESS - DO NOT USE.

Quoted £300 on phone based on multiple, detailed photos. Sub-contractor showed up and said they wouldn't do job for £300. When I said this is the amount that had been agreed they said "the office always do this" and left. I was extremely frustrated by the situation and when I spoke to Go Rubbish Go was told the price had increased to £760. As this was 2.5 xs price agreed I advised I could not go ahead and asked for confirmation I would not be charged. They have subsequently charged me £50 cancellation fee and the finance team will not return my calls.

I can see that this is a common experience, do not use this company, they will try to extort you.

They did manage to collect an old armchair on a saturday at a couple of hours notice. The collection crew were pleasant and professional. It was a bit pricey but I was happy to pay for a quick response.

ABSOLUTE SCAM OF A COMPANY

Do not use them unless you want to be ripped off, quoted us for 550kg worth of rubbish collection for £270, they arrived and then said it’s actually going to be £750, the person “James” then said they will only load 550kg worth of rubbish to match the quote… which they then proceeded to only load 1/8th of the rubbish and said that was what was agreed, ended up having to get them to unload the rubbish and go away.

They’ve clearly outsourced their customer service to another country and have no idea what’s going on, clear scam that they’re trying to pull, avoid at all costs

I called them on a saturday and, incredibly, they showed up less than half an hour later. Polite and efficient staff, good value for money, will definitely use again. My order reference was 178867.

The team that came to extract my corner sofa, were very friendly and helpful in solving the difficult problem of getting it out of my house, as it had to go through the back garden.
They even helped to fix my back garden door, which was damaged by the recent storm! So, I saved £200 as a handy-man offered to do ("rip me off" ), what I didn't have time/energy to do, for that price!
So thank you!

I explained exactly over the phone what was to be collected. When then came the price went front £244 to £750. I got it collected by another company for £350.

They scam then keep calling.

They then tried to get my negative review removed from here to make it look like they are a good company

Great service, excellent value. I read some of the reviews on here with a bit of trepidation, but my experience was first class. Really good communication with James, and then a much appreciated phone call on the day to let me know the guys were running slightly late. The guys themselves were friendly, professional and got the job done for the agreed price. I'd not hesitate to recommend.

Horrendous, horrendous. Horrendous avoid at all costs. They do not give you accurate information. They show up late, very very late, 4 1/2 hours late and generally very unprofessional. Avoid them at all costs.

The company is full of liars. They had said they would arrive in the afternoon, when we called them at 12, they said they'd be here by 3, then at 3 they said 5:30, the at 5:30 they cancelled. We were due to be out the very next day at 8am and the best they said they could do was 11-1pm.
When I requested that they turn up later in the day they told me that they stop collecting at 5. When I asked to speak with a boss, they put me through to a voicemail. When I called again I got through to this random woman who placed me on hold until the phone went dead. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

Needed to get rid of an old sofa bed. Booked an appointment and the guys came to collect it the next day. Simple, efficient and no fuss, great service and friendly people at the company. Would recommend!!!

Don't use them!

We had a agreed an estimate for removal. I moved all the items to the road to make it convenient for them over the week end.

By the Monday morning it seems the neighbours had taken 90% of the items leaving basically 2 (1 plastic shelf and 1 drum (mixed items) of the 18 items.

I tried calling to explain the situation and whether we can reduce the quote - they said no. I asked can we at least use the lower of the estimate and they refused and charged the maximum to my card.

Literally use anyone else!

Wished I had read the reviews before calling these con artists. Get a quote online for £135 then they call and say according to my pictures it would have to be £220 so I agreed. I moved the items into groups to make it easier to handle and collect only to be told when they arrived that the items didn’t match my pictures. It was the same stuff just spread out. Not the real con starts where the boss calls and gave 3 options, take half the stuff, increase the price or they drive away but charge me a £50 cancellation fee. When I said I wouldn’t pay any cancellation fee the rude guy on the phone said he would instruct his legal team to make contact. Avoid these con men like the plague and book someone reputable (or a skip for the same amount).

Atrocious service. Made simple junk collection arrangement through their website. On site tried to claim they were justifying making a 50% price increase by accusing me of lying. Refused any reasonable compromise. Eventually breached the quote and littered most of the junk in the communal areas. Needed to be reported to landlord and police for criminal damage.

Someone had dumped a bin bag of household rubbish in the front garden of my rental property in SW London, foxes had got to it, ripped the bag and scattered the rubbish all over the garden, there was also a dumped bag of hedge clippings and an old metal chair. I live elsewhere in the country so couldn’t do it myself, so I gave Handy Rubbish a call and they got there on the same day, cleared it all up, swept up to, took it all away, I couldn’t ask for more, £80.00, which I thought was very good. I would certainly use this company again should I get more dumped rubbish. Thoroughly recommend, thus five stars, thanks guys.

Racist emails sent to me have been forwarded to the police.

Now they are trying to get this review removed. I will not allow that to happen after their racist emails.

Booked collection and pick up was arranged for the same day. Good communication, reasonable cost and turned up on time. Polite collectors. Would use again.
