Handy Cleaners was kind, courteous, and reasonably priced. They cleaned my carpets for my end of tenancy, and made them look like new - after 2 years of having a dog. They worked with me on a tight time schedule as well, and made the whole process easy from start to finish. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Every interaction with this company was a pleasure. Our technician was courteous, skilled, thorough and respectful. The carpet cleaning results were great!

We had to get our carpet cleaned after our toddler threw up on it and it reeked! We attempted to clean the carpet but the stain was still there. The company was quick to respond, and they came the next day with a steaming machine. We ended up getting the sofa and pram steam cleaned as well. The service was relatively fast and the technician was very kind and gave us tips and handy information on different stains. The carpet stains all came off, as did the smell; the sofa looked almost brand new. We had to wait for both the carpet and sofa to dry for a couple of hours but luckily there was no smell of heavy cleaning products or vapours as we were told the cleaning was done with water alone. In addition we received a voucher to be used on our next cleaning service!

I booked handy cleaners on the advice of my letting agent in order to prepare my flat for rental. Apparently I did not articulate the specific phrase required "end of tenancy clean" that the company needed in order to quote for the work or to provide an appropriate service. I did explain the situation - that I was moving out and the flat was due to be let. I was therefore somewhat surprised when the flat was cleaned in less than 2 hours - very hastily - and charged at an expensive rate. When I complained I was villified by the company representative for having left some personal items in the flat - which I had already explained would be the case. This had no effect on the ability of the cleaners to clean the flat and therefore was a strange way to respond to my concern. I ended up having to pay them more money to rectify the job. The cleaners who arrived had poor understanding of English and a harried look about them. I have the impression from reading around and glassdoor that they do not pay their contracters well. I'd rather go to an individual or a smaller company in future who are more trustworthly and communicate more effectively. I would not use them again.

I have been using this company for years and they have always been very professional and thorough. Totally recommend them.

Highly recommend this company. carpet and rug cleaned today. The gentleman was polite, knowledgeable and provided a thorough cleaning service as well as helpful aftercare advice. Will definitely use this company again! Thank you.

Avoid at all costs

I cannot stress enough how much you should avoid this company. I paid up front for an end of Tenancy clean with carpet clean at a cost of £247.

The flat was already cleaned to a reasonable standard (bar the oven) by the previous tenant but I thought it would be good to give the place a once over prior to selling the property. I wish I hadn't of bothered.

I asked the company specifically for two things which I was told would be fine: 1) Clean the door hinges as the decorator had got some paint on them 2) pick up a few small items of rubbish in the garden (no more then one black bags worth, if that).

I was told that they would inspect the hinges and let me know if there would be any additional cost, and that the garden a little rubbish in the garden wouldn't be a problem. They visited the property and did neither of the jobs and also didn't touch the oven.

The company told blatant lies by stating that they didn't agree to pick up the rubbish in the garden and that they had it on voice recording. I asked them to share the voice recording and when I clearly gave them the time when it was said during the conversation they state and I quote 'I could not note any mentioning the rubbish'

Eventually they returned to clean the oven but the hinges and garden were not done.

Given the price paid and I was quite up front about what I wanted to done they were terrible. Not to mention the fact that the only area that need attention (the oven) was not touched. At this price you should not have to inspect to see if the work was actually done which cost time and money. Avoid!!

The company was very helpful and prompt in arranging a visit. The cleaner was efficient and helpful, and did a great job, even with marks I thought were very unlikely to come out. Delighted with the results.

One of their cleaners came to clean numerous medium sized rugs in our nursery school. He did a thorough job, worked hard and was very friendly.

I based my decision to use this cleaner on the previous Trustpilot reviews and score. I was wrong. One half of the team was diligent and the other took smoke and phone breaks frequently and had to be reminded to do certain things by me. After they left, I found mildew remaining in certain corners of rooms, vacuuming hadn’t be done everywhere, and windows hadn’t been done. To name but a few issues. My new tenant refused for health reasons to move in (mildew etc) before another clean was performed. When my agent emailed Handy, followed by me, for a refund, both emails were ignored. Overall, this was a very disappointing service.

I had my stairs and bedroom carpet cleaned and I am delighted with the results. My carpets look like new and smell lovely. The technician was lovely too and did a terrific job, I would highly recommend and will be using them again.

Appalling experience. Asked them to do an end of tenancy clean. A full re-clean was needed and even then, the house wasn't clean. They made excuses for the poor standard of the work, with an agressive and intimidating team leader. When the independent inventory professional identified bleach stains to the carpet, the company disputed this, blaming me for not telling the cleaners to remove the stains at re-clean (err... the dye has gone) and then saying the inventory professional was clearly biased. No interest in inspecting the damage themselves. I am bewildered by the positive reviews as given my experience, I would never use or recommend. And the inventory professional said I'm not the first.

Really impressed with the carpet cleaning service. Old stubborn stains were removed - like a miracle!
