This trip was absolute perfection! Barbara was wonderful to work with. She asked questions to understand what our family was looking for in this experience and really listed. Every detail was thoughtfully planned. The hotels were great and in the best locations for us in every city. The tours and the tour guides were fantastic. This was without a doubt the easiest trip I have ever planned. My entire family loved it. We can’t wait to visit Greece again. And when we do, we will definitely work with Barbara and Greece Insiders again.

Our group of six women just returned from a wonderful Greek vacation designed by Greek Insider’s talented travel specialist, Ms. Marianna Loupou. She deserves the highest praise for her creativity, attention to detail, incredible responsiveness, professionalism and sweet nature. I will be handing out Greek Insider’s, and specifically Marianna’s, business information to everyone who asks about my trip. When I began planning our holiday I contacted four travel companies and asked for a plan within a certain budget. I let each agency know I was contacting others. I communicated that we hoped to go to Athens for a few nights and then on to some of the Cycladic islands--we were open to all suggestions, but we thought that a mix of activities and down time would work best. It was immediately apparent that Marianna would be our choice, she understood her mission! Even then I was nervous about committing to an overseas agency, although Greek Insiders has great reviews, we picked Marianna and her agency. All of my worries proved to be unfounded. Every hotel was fantastic and the mix of activities and tours was perfect. Marianna is a delight to work with and a credit to Greek Insiders.

Our family holiday was organized by Marianna. She built a great, stress free itinerary for a family of 4, with 2 teens. We had just the right mix of history, local culture and free time. We spent 13 days across Athens, Naxos, Santorini and Crete. We had walking access to food and sites at all the places we stayed. We stayed in a combo of locally owned and operated hotels and suites. We wanted food tours, art workshops and cooking experiences. We got them all. We had pool access and beach access (in certain locations). Our excursions were a mix of private and group. All transfers were smooth and when needed - flexible. We had great tour guides everywhere. Everyone was hospitable and helpful. We ate incredible food. We learned a ton. We loved everything we saw and did. If you want an authentic experience for yourself and/or others, Marianna is an incredible travel specialist. We will return to Naxos and Crete - our favorite places.

A trip of a lifetime! We had such an amazing trip to Greece, and a huge part of that was due to the thoroughness, thoughtfulness, and kindness we received from Greece Insiders. Everything was meticulously planned, adjusted, & executed by Julia. She worked with us up front to plan the perfect trip for our family, synced up with us several times before the trip started, and stayed in touch with us during the trip. We even got to meet up with her for a few minutes while we were in Athens, which was a nice personal touch. Every part of our trip was so well laid out, documented, etc so once we started it, we really just had to read the daily agenda prior to starting the day, and then just go experience it & have fun without having to worry about taking care of anything. Would HIGHLY recommend Greece Insiders for anyone who wants an amazing vacation to Greece to really get a feel for the beautiful country, including seeing the local culture, food, history, etc.

We loved our luxury trip with Greece Insiders! Eleni arranged a trip for us that gave us a mix of everything we asked for: history and museums, food and wine tours, gorgeous beaches and of course shopping. She found guides for us that were knowledgeable, friendly and imparted a warmth that was well appreciated. At times the trip challenged us, but we met those challenges. We were a tour of women united by family and friends as close as family that came to feel as if Greece held family too. The special touches began on day 1 with a welcome box.

Athens

All I have to say is we survived the Parthenon...more than half of us were not fully prepared for the difficulty of this tour and the other half had seen the Tik tok video. It was an amazing thing definitely worth visiting. At the top it's level and you can catch your breath. Before that it's chaos, slippery marble, steep inclines...after my panic attack though I appreciated it. If you have a fear of heights be warned...I've climbed steeper but the slipperiness adds another layer to the anxiety. On the plus side, everything else was smooth sailing for me because it was nothing compared to the Parthenon.

Alex was a wonderful informative and caring guide. He tried to look out for our comfort and give insight into Greek life as we walked to the Parthenon gates, at the Parthenon and later at the museum. The museum was probably too much for us after the Parthenon though.

Joseph was a patient, unassuming guide whose food tour set the standard for food in Greece. This was the best calamari, my favorite bean dish, roasted eggplant and baklava. There were so many choices in the appetizer portion of this progressive dinner...we went on to delicious tacos and dessert at different places.

Naxos cultural tours

Naxos was incredible and we felt like family. Our food tour was enhanced by our delightful guide, Ariadne. We loved the dessert and will be searching for that in the future. The cheese shop had so many spices and other delicious goods we brought some home with us. The olive bread was a tasty treat and several of my family bought more breads at the bakery. Dinner was also delicious and the atmosphere added to it. I have to say though that the unique citron, both dried and as a liquor as well as the rakamelo were true highlights. Ariadne timed our ascent to the temple as the sun was setting providing another gorgeous view and pictures. I can't put into words how special this tour was for us. We had a lot of great guides, but she was our favorite. We were also able to pick up some well crafted mementos and learn some historical facts especially at the girls boarding school. Thank you so much Ariadne! Thank you and the others for so welcoming our all women's tour. Efcharisto polli!

2nd cultural tour
We enjoyed this tour very much, though it was a bit more walking than expected. We learned about the Mediterranean lifestyle and the inner workings of an olive mill. More importantly we got to sample olives and a traditional meze which several of us are still trying to incorporate into our daily life. Elizabeth did a good job.

Flamingos another Naxian establishment that truly welcome our all women tour! We loved the food especially the cheese pie and snapper and were invited back the next night for dancing! My family and I dancing in a circle over broken plates to traditional music is a memory I'll treasure.

Santorini

This all day tour with Panos (and George our driver) was a mix of humor, history, knowledge and fun that made him a close second for favorite guide. We rocked our way with our own Playlist set up his blue tooth to the highest point in Santorini, a Greek church, and delicious food bites. Also shout out to Giovanni and the chef for welcoming us and our excellent meal. We are the same truly G. Panos, Kalimera, Kalispera, Kalinichte, Efcharisto, Kali Orexia, Parakalo, Yassas, nero, sami, Ne, Ohi, Yamas, and Opa.

Barbara and Greece Insiders planned an incredible trip for our group of 17, spanning different ages and interests, and she was able to make everyone very happy! The hotels, transportation and excursions were seamless, and the itinerary and app made everything easy to follow. Highlights included Chania, visiting our family village in Archea Eleftherna, and an unforgettable farm-to-table experience at Peskesi Organic Farm. I wanted a local travel agent for our trip. I chose Greece Insiders based largely on Trip Advisor and Trustpilot reviews. It is so hard to make sure you are getting a trustworthy and REAL agency when working solely online, so I wholeheartedly recommend Greece Insiders.

They were so helpful coordinating the needs and wants of a group of 10, including two people in their 80s and two teens. They asked our interests, physical abilities and number of days and provided several trip outlines to choose from. They offered different levels of cost and when we questioned one or another item, she gave us her reasons for choosing a hotel or tour, gave us more economic alternatives and left the decision to us. They recommended not going certain places unless we had enough time to really experience it. They even forewarned us of the difficulties for elderly or people with disabilities at certain sites.

The agency provided an app with all of our day to day activities outlined, contacts and locations defined and recommendation for food. We really appreciated all of the advice and information we needed about how things are different there.

We mostly kept to $$ restaurants because we don’t need extra fancy but even considering that all of the recommendations we tried were delicious. I would like to give an extra shout out to Fusionelle restaurant in Santorini. Fresh, delicious, friendly for a good price. I can’t say enough! Get dessert!

Barbara at Greece Insiders kept in contact throughout the trip to check on us and provide any help we needed. The whole group felt comfortable knowing we had a local contact in case of problems, questions or emergencies. We were very happy with the service and attention of Greece Insiders. Our Trip: consisted of 3 nights in Nafplio, 4 nights in Athens and 3 nights in Santorini. Greece insiders coordinated all transport, hotel and tours. They even provided a gift box. We were happy to be located in the center of each town where we could easily walk to what we wanted to see.

We opted for one free day in each location to rest, wander or do whatever we found interesting. I definitely recommend that. A tour every day is too much even though there is so much to see. In fact one tour in each place is enough. There is so much to see you can find it right around the corner.

Transportation was a large, clean and comfortable van with a professional and safe driver. Water and stops were always offered as needed.

We stayed in Amymone and Adiandi in Nafplio. A quaint and comfortable hotel with a B&B feel. It was located right in the middle of town and easy to walk to everything.

Titania hotel in Athens. This hotel had either really good or rather bad reviews online, (seems they underwent improvements last year) so I was a little worried, but the hotel was great. Clean and comfortable with a beautiful rooftop restaurant looking out onto the Acropolis. Large breakfast bar and easy to walk to many different parts of the city, restaurants and points of interest. We did not walk around very late, but it seemed like a relatively good part of town. Everyone was friendly. Even though we were warned of pick pockets in the Flea Market, we kept our $ and phones in our front pockets and had no problems.

We did choose one expensive hotel, Katikies Garden Santorini, based on location and recommendations. It was a lot more than we normally spend, but it was fabulous and we enjoyed splurging there. The rooms all varied because it was an old monastery, but each was spacious, clean and comfortable. Each room has a whirlpool with either a rooftop or courtyard lounge area. It was a little too cool to enjoy our whirlpool, but lovely to relax there with the family. If it was heated in cool weather it would have been perfect! The pool is an infinity and the perfect place to relax, swim and have a drink. As soon as we got there we thought the hotel was so lovely we didn’t need anything extra, the hotel itself was enough. The lobby is the main entrance to the alleys and dumps you right above the main shopping and food area. Only a short walk to the caldera edge. We took a catamaran tour that was amazing, but the day was clear and sunny and I’m sure that made a difference.

Thanos was amazing! The experiences he set up for us made us feel like VIP's. He was able to pivot and help us when there was an issue with one of the ferries. I felt like I could reach out any time. Everything was perfect! While Greece still would have been an amazing trip without him, he took all the pressure off me to organize things and allowed for a truly relaxing and epic time. I can't thank him enough!
