Bought a Stratford 2+1+1 recliner over…
Bought a Stratford 2+1+1 recliner over 15 years ago and found it very comfortable and top quality baring in mind this is in an occasional room so barely used at all and is still like new! Recently bought a Stratford chevron 3 seater to complement the existing Stratford and Boy was that the biggest mistake ever! Zero Comfort, No Back Support, gap between both seat cushions goes straight through so good by TV remote and hands when getting up??? Something defnatly gone wrong here!!! Now either it's a Reject passed to a retailer for quick cheap disposal or Gplan is going down the Pan? Either way a reduced price of £800 for a sofa with less comfort than an Orange Crate is kinda Disgusting!!!

We’re very sorry to hear that your recent purchase hasn’t lived up to expectations — especially after being so pleased with your original Stratford suite for many years. We completely understand how disappointing it must feel to find the comfort and support different from what you remembered.
As your sofa was purchased through one of our retailers as a clearance item, it’s likely to have been a made-to-order piece originally manufactured for another customer, as our orders are all bespoke. Each of our retailers manages their own clearance sales and pricing, and we appreciate this can sometimes lead to differences in specification or comfort.
Furniture manufacturing has evolved considerably over the last 15 years — from the materials and fillings used to the design and comfort profiles — so newer models can feel quite different from older ones. That said, we’re genuinely sorry this one hasn’t met your expectations.

A beautiful well made sofa
Took a long time to find a sofa both myself and my partner found comfortable and in just the right style to suit both our tastes.
The second we saw and sat on the G-Plan Austen large sofa in the showroom, we both knew it was the one.
It arrived after 6 weeks build time, However we noticed that it had a few defects in the seat stitching and build of the seat cushions, which when checking the showroom example again was unique to ours.
G-plan have been fantastic, they sent somebody out to inspect and immediately told us they would arrange a brand new replacement, no quibbles or issues.
Our replacement arrived this week, very impressed with the service and the quality of the sofa we now have.
It will last us many years. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy our next sofa with you.

I ordered 2 Ridley Vintage sofas
I ordered 2 Ridley Vintage sofas, which I really like.
First sofa is fine.
The second sofa, the left handside base of the sofa, the foam was softer and less ridgid. The stitching was not even.
After a report from the upholsterer. GPlan have happily agreed to replace the sofa. Very pleased with the outcome!

No Support - Expect Back Ache!
We purchased a 2 seater sofa and 3 seater reclining sofa Nov 24 and the 3 seater is shot - has been for months! No support what so ever and that is without using the recliner function! You back aches after sitting on it for more than 15 minutes! We both work full time and aren't overweight so there is no reason why the support is so bad. It sinks so badly, like sitting in a hole. If this was a cheap sofa we might have expected it. But not when you pay thousands. Furniture Village seem uninterested in helping so we might have to try and go down a more formal legal route. Did not expect such poor quality from G-Plan, these sofas were meant to last us years! Would not recommend. We haven't even finished paying for it!

Malvern 3 seater sofa
Lovely piece of furniture, fits in my room perfectly, r/h recliner seat is ideal. Most of all I love the high back that supports your neck and head, so many versions these days have such short backs which offer no support above the shoulders.

I was very pleased with our electric…
I was very pleased with our electric recliner that was purchased in Feb 2025 but it has already failed on one side of the recliner and we are waiting for a furniture technician to come out and repair, not a good wait time three weeks with the one half of our two seater sofa stuck in the reclining position, I was not expecting this from GPlan

Replacement feet
We had inherited a G plan 4 priece suite but unfortunately some of the plastic feet were missing. I contacted GPlan and without hesitation they sent replacement feet free of charge! Polite and friendly customer service agent. Fantastic service.

Great G Plan Response
Unfortunately, on a leather sofa I purchased almost 8 years ago,a minor fault came to light. I contacted Customer Services at G Plan and the response was great. A technician was arranged, a diagnosis was made, the minor repair to the frame was actioned and the problem resolved.
I cannot speak highly enough of the G Plan Customer Service agent for the excellent response.

Wow they're slow!
I ordered an Elevate chair in mid August, expecting the promised 6-8 week delivery period. Apparently the fabric I chose (sorry, I didn't want tweed) requires extra time and I've now been told that, because they import the mechanisms, my chair won't be coming till the end of November...!! I still want the chair but three and a half months is a crazy long delivery period!

We ordered 2 Riley sofas
We ordered 2 Riley sofas. 1 a static and the other a manual recliner. We are an elderly couple and are unable to use the manual recliner. A complete waste of money. This was £800 more than the static and now we can only use this as a static as it is too difficult to use. Our strong 6"2"son could hardly get the back to recline.
The technician came to examine the sofa and removed a spring but it has not made in any easier for us to use.
We strongly feel we should have been advised by the retailer 'Doorway to Value' we would find it difficult to operate and that a power one would be more suitable. This was in no way suggested nor did the salesman encourage us to try the model in store. He gave us a demonstration and made it look so easy.
This reflects more on the point of sale than on Gplan but be warned if you are of a certain age or perhaps not quite so mobile you will find it a complete waste of money as you will not be able to operate it.
Doorway to value have offered,after our complaint,to order a new power recliner and charge us an extra £800. This would only have been an extra £250 at point of sale. Totally unacceptable when it is not fit for purpose.

We’re particularly sorry to hear that the recliner has proven difficult to operate. While we’ve not received similar feedback about this model elsewhere, we absolutely appreciate that individual needs can vary, and that a manual mechanism may not be suitable for everyone.
Our expectation is that suitability, including differences between manual and power recliners, would be discussed and demonstrated in full at the point of sale. While we would never want to speak on behalf of any of our valued retail partners, we do rely on them to provide guidance based on each customer’s requirements.
We genuinely regret that the recliner has not met your expectations and that it’s not proving usable for you. Your comfort and satisfaction are very important to us, and we’re sorry that you feel let down by this experience.

The sales person was polite and very helpful. The after sales team were extremely helpful. We found a mark on the arm of our recliner chair, they sent out a technician to look and it, and he sorted it. This was all done after two weeks from delivery.
