After years of struggling with QuickBooks as a self employed sole trader, I can confidently say that it was a frustrating experience. The platform felt overly complicated and cluttered, making it overwhelming to navigate, especially after they changed the layout. Just the thought of using it would cause me stress and cause me to have anger issues. However, discovering Coconut has been a game changer. Its simplicity and user friendly design make managing my finances a breeze for MTD, especially on the go with my phone. Transitioning from QuickBooks felt like moving from piloting a spaceship to now flying a single seater microlight airplane—much more enjoyable and manageable. The difference between the two is staggering!

The app is so easy to use and quick , a great experience , I would recommend this app to anybody , kind regards Paul

Coconut has a friendly vibe and I find the interface understandable and engaging. My main bank account is not yet able to link to my Coconut platform, however I know Coconut are working on this and meantime the transactions can be entered by me. A standout feature is my various income streams can all be accommodated within one single subscription - there are other MTD providers who don’t do this.

Signed up with a first year free code which showed amount to be paid on screen as £0 but the full subscription amount was taken.
Emailed the company, no answer. Replied to the email they sent with the paid invoice. No acknowledgement yet.

Easy to use and great support

Tried closing my account 3 times, with no response and my account has not been closed.
My free trial runs out tomorrow and I haven't managed to get through to anyone for weeks - only AI.

So far its been a really programatic setting up the free two year deal- Cocunut with Zempler
Supposed to be free but
now they are trying to take £159 ?

The best bookkeeping account for sole traders! I recently signed up to coconut after a very frustrating experience with QuickBooks - who messed up my account upgrade, lost a lot of my data and provided little customer support. After a lot of trial and error with many platforms, I found coconut to be the most easiest and efficient to use for all sole traders. Highly recommend them.

As a sole trader I’ve used many accounting softwares in the past & coconut is by far the best, most straightforward & reliable. Being able to attach my receipts, so not having to keep the paper copy is a game changer for me. I am able to connect all bank accounts & assign transactions to business/personal, it’s also useful to see how much of a turnover & profit I’m making. Would highly recommend! Thank you Team Coconut

I found it quite difficult to navigate certain parts of the app to begin with but the online help guides are really handy, loses 1* because I am unable to pay for the self assessment version monthly and I can’t afford to pay for the year outright while my business is still early days and Christmas coming up etc

I wanted an accounting software which was easy to use for me personally which it was seems I only need money in money out software with the ability for receipts invoicing and now the dreaded MTD hahaha
Highly recommended if your a sole trader looking for the same as me

As I can't reply to Coconuts reply, I am doing another review, as I am fed up trying to speak to an ACTUAL person. I have just uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of Coconut, and guess what it STILL DOESNT WORK PROPERLY!!!!
Can someone at Coconut try this app on an android device, like others have said this has gone on for well over a year, and I have complained several times, if someone took the time and effort to call me we might be able to rectify this. A lot of us are paying for a service that can be properly used. It really pi**es me off that they can't sort this. I really hope that some of us get a refund for the months that we havent been able to use this app correctly.

Really good affordable product, very simple perfect for a sole trader. Jumped in board ready for MTD! Intelligent at sorting through transactions and knowing which items are income and transfers. Very happy

Great bit of software. 5*

Absolutely terrible. I have an Android phone and as someone else said, when you try and scroll down the list of transactions to maybe add a receipt or just check through them, it keeps jumping back to the beginning until you are screaming with frustration. I have reported this issue for over a year, and it just keeps getting worse. They keep saying the same thing, and today it was ..we have just discovered what is going wrong in the android app. Well this is over a year and they keep saying they will fix it. As it is it is unusable and I have wasted days trying to get somewhere.
Maybe it's just Android but that's a lot of people and I have an expensive phone.
I have totally had enough.

I’ve played around with lots of different accountancy software and none of them match the ease and simplicity of Coconut. I’m a freelancer and find it hard to keep track of several different accounts. I love how you can connect all accounts - even personal ones - and assign transactions quickly.
It even tells you how much you need to put aside for HMRC, as well as create invoices.
