I needed expert guidance on choosing a brand name in French, and working with Gurvan was an excellent decision.

The consultation was incredibly insightful, and he went above and beyond by providing additional naming options and valuable context I hadn’t considered. I highly recommend him to anyone.

I have been working with Gurvan for a while now and am delighted to have found such a good French instructor. His lessons are casual and fun and tailored to the student’s ability. But they also inspire and encourage you to stretch your mind and speak out of your comfort zone. He keeps the conversation entertaining and light. I really think speaking with him increases confidence and puts one’s knowledge into action.

Great teacher, my son Daler had got DELF B2 from zero level in 2 years, with 3 times per week lessons. Very polite, kind and structured, with good methodology, knows English and Russian as well. Strictly recommend for learning French!) 🇫🇷

I do not know many students that like learning French. Which makes the work of Gurvan even more impressive, as he is able to turn the kids and make them willing to spend time with him learning French.
I appreciate the fact that Gurvan is flexible and he is able to accommodate schedule changes on a short notice. Overall the communication with him is a breeze and most importantly my son goes in and out of the lesson in a good mood.

My son doesn’t like to learn very much, but he learns French with Gurvan with pleasure. He improved his knowledge of the language very good. He wants to take final exam in French at the end of the school. Thank to Gurvan!

First things first: I have a PhD in German Language and Literature, so please consider what I write below not only my personal, but professional opinion.

Gurvan is hands down the best French tutor I’ve ever worked with. His teaching approach focuses on what really matters first: reading and, most importantly, speaking. Grammar is introduced naturally along the way, without pressure or dry explanations. What you actually learn is how to speak French.

The process feels very intuitive—almost like how children learn a language. You absorb patterns, sounds, and structures naturally, which makes speaking feel effortless and real rather than forced or academic.

A truly unique advantage is Gurvan’s ability to speak almost every European language. This means explanations can always be given in your native language, removing confusion and making learning much more efficient and comfortable.

If you’re looking for a natural, effective, and confidence-building way to learn French, Gurvan is exceptional.

I’ve had French lessons with Gurvan via Preply and it has been a very positive experience,
I was very nervous and had not had language lessons for many years, but Gurvan made things comfortable and enjoyable from the first lesson,
Highly recommended!
