Terrible experience with Fortify, please AVOID at all costs
While traveling earlier this year, I sadly had all of my luggage stolen. I had to (out of a very tight budget I had carefully saved for my travels) panic buy all of my essentials – like underwear and clean clothes and toiletries for the remainder of my trip. It was a really horrible experience, and although I felt very vulnerable I also felt safe in the knowledge that I had chosen a trustworthy insurance company that I was confident, after reading their wonderful advertisements, would cover any unfortunate happenings while I was away.
This could not have been further from the truth. After painstakingly compiling a list of all of my stolen goods and the total cost of my loss (£1861.15), I submitted a thorough and detailed claim and waited nearly two months for a response. At first there were not enough claim handlers to handle the amount of claims as many had quit, so there was already a backlog. I had to regularly call up for any updates, as weeks would go by with no contact - on the last call I was told by a confused employee that I would hear back by the end of the day, as if my claim had been forgotten. This morning, I received one short email confirming the insurance company would pay me £287 to cover my losses. Despite this company assuring me I was safely covered during my travels, it turns out that only 15% of my total loss would be compensated. Some of the items I had claimed for weren’t even mentioned. I expect no time at all was spent assessing my case – they have just dismissed my claim and offered me, frankly, an insulting amount in compensation.
I’m thoroughly disappointed and have been left feeling that not only have I been the victim of theft but the sad victim of a company that has no integrity and loyalty to their customers.
I would not recommend this company for your insurance if you’re due to travel any time soon. Please put your money elsewhere with a company who will offer you respectful and decent compensation should the worst happen.

Web site.......Telephone numbers either not answered or just messages that have nothing to do with the department you rung. Are they still in business or winding down? Would love to hear from others...imagine if you were ringing from abroad after a bad accident or missed flight!!
Was a very bad company
Was a very bad company. I will never use it again, they did not cover certain trips even if you are stranded there. And then they point out why it is not covered, and when you correct their mistakes in grammar and interpretation they use different clauses to make their point instead. It looks like they just do not want to give you any money as an insurance.

Rock Insurance – Fortify Travel Insurance - The worst customer service I have experienced in 27 years!
If I could have given Rock Insurance/ Fortify Travel Insurance -100 that would be too good, in comparison BT and Barclays overseas call centers would rate 10/10 against this bunch of muppets!
I went online and searched on comparethemarkets for travel insurance and I selected the one that was 4* (goodness knows how they got 4 stars!) So I paid at 8:15am and the receipt said the policy certificate would be emailed to me, at 8:50am I rang the customer service line (lines open at 8am) and was on hold until someone answered the call at 10:24am!
I explained that I had not received the policy certificate and I asked why the delay in answering the call, in the age of modern communications, Anthony the operative states, “well it was a Bank Holiday yesterday!”
With that response and the extremely poor service I told him to cancel the insurance policy, goodness help anyone using them if they have to make a claim, their overseas mobile phone bill would be massive.
I own a business and I understand a minimum level of customer services has to be provided even when everyone is maxed out, but Rock Insurance /Fortify Travel Insurance fell way below the acceptable level.
Avoid Rock Insurance/ Fortify Travel Insurance, there are other insurers who value your custom and will treat you with the customer service YOU deserve.
I broke my ankle in Cambodia
I broke my ankle in Cambodia, and while they covered the medical expenses they refused to cover the entire cost of my flight home using vague policy points to justify their decision. They also didn't manage to arrange a flight home before my visa expired which resulted in me having to arrange my own way to Bangkok via bus (it took 16 hours).
When I raised my issues with the company I was never given a proper explanation as to why they believed they were right.
They will twist and turn the policy wording to worm their way out of payments. Avoid them at all costs.
I'm quite pleased with the customer …
I'm quite pleased with the customer service. I made a mistake on my travel insurance, I emailed the company and even though it was a bit late they had no problems with changing it for me.
