Both drivers had wonderful friendly demeanors and expertly chauffeur
The busses were late arriving
The busses were late arriving, and there was no communication that they would be late. This made us late for our field trip. There was also a miscommunication about which busses should go where. After speaking with dispatch, the driver was told to take the kids to the new destination. When the first graders came out of the botanical gardens the second bus was no where to be found and was not answering the radio. Our drivers we had were incredibly rude according to our teachers, and I was asked by the teachers to NOT use First Student again next time. m

I called an hour before to confirm
I called an hour before to confirm, yet the bus was still over 30 minutes late after multiple phone calls to get them here. Once they were here the experience was good but we missed a lot of the field trip.

Our 2nd bus was over 45 mins late which pushed our field trip back over an hour. I was never contacted to say that there was an issue, I had to contact First Student. I believe that customer service should be the one of the most important standards of any company.
A very bad experience
We have been a repeat customer of First Student for many years, but this trip went very poorly for three main reasons.
1. Dropped/forgotten charter reservation. On the day of our confirmed trip, our two charter buses simply did not show up.
2. Difficulty in getting ahold of someone to help. I called the number given to me on my confirmations for day of trip questions. It was 2:00pm on a Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. It took over 40 minutes of waiting on hold until I was able to talk with a person, and when I finally did get ahold of someone, she couldn't answer any of my questions and had to transfer me to a manager. The manager was helpful. He apologized and confirmed there were no buses on their way to get us. That's really all I needed to know at that point. I had to get ahold of all the families waiting for the buses' return to let them know that they were going to have to come get their child instead.
3. Incomplete follow through on problem resolution. Since the Thanksgiving weekend was about to start, the manager said he would try to figure out what went wrong and call me back the Monday of the next week to try to make amends. That was very reasonable. But that Monday was two days ago now, and I have not yet received that call.
My experiences with First Student have been much better in recent years (there were similar poor ones in the past), but needless to say, this one took a few big steps backward.
