Warranty Repair on 35-year Old Jacket
My 35 year old tin cloth jacket lost a button due to normal use. The fabric is so thick, no one will work on it. After a couple of years of not using it, I realized there was a Lifetime Warranty on the jacket. So I filled out the forms on the Filson website, followed their instructions and, voila, I have a repaired jacket. Not only did they attach the missing button, they also reinforced another one that was starting to come off and they treated the fabric to some new wax. It took about a month from the time I sent it in to the time I got it back. They met the commitments outlined in their process. I received the jacket back today and I can't wait to wear it. Nice job Filson!
No longer a premium product or experience
I've been a loyal Filson customer for years and have traditionally bought my sons a quality US made Filson product each year for Christmas. Sadly, there are now very few US made products in the catalog and the customer service experience proved equally disappointing. I will pay a premium for US made quality and for good customer service. My quest for another quality outfitter begins...I have unsubscribed from Filson e-mails. RIP
Slowest customer service ever
Slowest customer service ever. Had to return a Christmas gift. They confirmed receipt of the item on 1/8/24. It is 1/28/24 and they have not provided the store credit as promised. 20 days from receipt of the item and counting is unacceptable to issue a refund. Very disappointed.
Avoid at all cost
I decided in this era of cheap throw away clothing to invest in a high quality waxed jacket that would last me for many many years. Filson seemed to have the quality and pedigree and so I bought the Tin Cloth Field jacket.
Unfortunately the first time I went out in the rain, and it wasn't heavy rain either, the water soaked straight through on the shoulders and chest and I had to change my jumper and t shirt when I got in.
The canvas was not waxed properly in these areas and so the jacket is useless be a you can't go out in the rain and unless you spend a few hundred quid on a liner it's not warm either.
So I have a defective £575 jacket that has been hanging on a hook for 2 months.
It was almost impossible to get through to Filson EU, and when I finally did I was asked to fill out a repair form - quite why I don't know as the jacket needs replacing not repairing. As it's the only response I had received I filled the form in and sent it back. Anyway that was over 4 weeks ago, I have chased and got no replies.
So I've had to raise a complaint through PayPal in the hope that I can get my money back.
Do not buy from Filson EU. It's overpriced, not made in the USA as you'd think with the hefty price tag, defective and if you have problems you the customer service the worst I've ever experienced.
Buyer Beware, Horrible Cust. Service, Fraudulent
First order last year had to be returned, wrong size. Tried to call customer service, when they didn't refund money, for help but was told for several weeks, and dozens of calls, that nobody was available to help. Finally had to turn into credit card company in order to get refund. Don't think I would have ever gotten my money back otherwise. This year I tried to order something again. They immediately took my money but didn't ship anything. I've been trying to call for two weeks to talk to customer service but they still say nobody is available. This is by far the worst company I have ever ordered from. Even Chinese counterfeit companies have better customer service. I should have known better after last years experience. It looks like I am going to have to turn in a fraud case with my credit card company for the second year in a row against Filson.

I have to echo the comments of the review below. We’re visiting the city for New Year’s and Filsons was number 1 on my list to buy a Stetson. A $500 hat. The service was lack lustre at best. We were definitely an inconvenience to the young lady at the front counter. To the point of feeling looked down upon. I asked for medium sized hats. She presented me with large. I requested for colours but NOT black. I was presented with black. Disappointing.
It’s not the Filson I remember from 2 years back. There was a man there in his 40s who treated you as a client. It was that previous experience that brought us back to the store, but found it missing.
what a phony company!
Filson offers some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They do not answer emails, are unavailable to chat, and have a fraudulent IVR recording that makes it appear as if they can not accept your phone because they are business. Utter BS!
This is the worst company to order…
This is the worst company to order online or from a phone representative from. Multiple attempts at ordering Christmas gifts "declined" my credit card. The problem is they use a third party "Bolt" to process the online purchases, which then results in the order being cancelled. The absolute worst experience I have ever had. Save yourself the trouble and don't order from Filson. If their order process is so problematic, trust me and order from someone else this company is the absolute worst. So don't be fooled by their website. Just look elsewhere
Why did they abandon making quality products made in the USA
Apparently they don’t make any of their products in the USA now. It’s hard to justify paying a premium price for something made overseas of mediocre quality. Seems like instead of paying for a quality item, we are are paying through the nose for their marketing campaign and getting a cut rate product.
The process was simple with excellent work
The process was simple. Sent for a ship label (free) and then put my expensive Filson 30 year old duffle in the box with a explanation of the damage. In about 4 weeks was notified the repair was under their warranty..The leather D ring holder had ripped through. I assumed a stitch type repair, but when I got the bag back after being notified of the track number to my surprise they replaced the entire leather mount with new..It is as good as new and top notch work. The wait time is long though so send it in long before you decide you'll need it again..Sent it in 8/28/23 received it back 11/14 23..Not unreasonable in the least..
Shirt was made in an Asian sweatshop
Shirt was made in an Asian sweatshop. Had to pay $70 in duties and customs brokerage fees once it shipped from USA to Canada. Complained to customer service and asked why it is not made in the USA (as their advertising ortrays). Customer service ignored thesse facts when I exposed them.

Buy using credit card to resolve
For those of you who’ve had a bad experience as I have I’d like to offer the following for those who don’t already know.
Buy everything on your credit card.
As long as you have emailed them and they have failed to respond within 45 days to your satisfaction your bank/credit card will officially withdraw payment and reimburse. Note. From the moment you advise bank/credit card of the issue a credit to the amount you spent will be applied to your credit card account. Filson (seller) then have 45 days to respond. I’ve had issues before with Filson EU and contacted the US and had resolution which you could also try. Good luck!
One Star only because I couldn't give a Zero
One Star only because they would not let me give them a zero. Worst company I have dealt with in 65 years. Buy anywhere else. The customer service will be better from the guy selling out of his car trunk. I ordered a hat 20 months ago and had to return it because there sizing is terrible. Needed size was out of stock for 20 months. Never received a notice when they were restocked. Spoke to customer support twice. I might as well have talked to a rock (maybe I did) from the response I received. We'll see when this one comes in if I can find anything positive to say.
Outrageous returns policy
I had to return two internet purchase items by post and they charged me £30. That must be the worst returns policy of any retailer

Colour for the Dryden bage in Whiskey is waaaaayyyyy darker than in the photos, its like two different bags. I like still it, but expectation was not managed and delivered. Not sure what they Photographed, maybe with a gazillion lumens. Not true to reality. Hate such misleading photos.
Update: Amazing customer service, changed the colour to the true one. Gives back 1 Star. Never had a company react so quickly. That is really cool. Also so far the bag is really good quality and everything worked well so far. So 4 stars
I too will never shop at Filson again
I too will never shop at Filson again. To top off my terible experience, I tried to review the product in question on the Filson site but was denied as they claim I didn't purchase the garment. I can clearly show pictures to prove I purchased the garment. In any case, I puchased the Oil Finish Double Tin Tan 30 Bibs. The sizing chart is completely wrong, there is no way this garment will fit over clothes as stated based on the sizing chart. But the real kicker was I was asked to send the garment back to Filson at my expense (since I live in Alaska) only to have the same garment returned stating the sizing was correct. When I hold the garment up against other pants I own the waist size is clearly off by at least an inch. Ironic, Filson garments so often claim to be Alaska tough but when it comes to customer service the Alaskan is treated very poorly. Filson cound learn from the customer service model of Crutchfield, they know how to treat a customer even if he lives in Alaska. Bottom line the garment may be nice but I will never know because I cant wear it, I won't ever buy from Filson again and there are too many good outdoor clothing companies to put up with the sevice I received at Filson..
I will never buy anything from Filson again
I will never buy anything from Filson again. I bought a flannel shirt (145.00 USD). I had worn it 3 or 4 times, nothing stressful like ranch work, tree felling, etc.
I made a sandwich yesterday, and one of the snaps just fell off. Customer service was agonizing.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed. Always been a massive fan of this brand until you try and repair your bag. Had it for over 8 years and the wear is showing. Great! BUT try and get it repaired. Big rips around the strap and the brass fastener has broken.. I don’t have the receipt for all those years ago and the london shop has now gone… so what do I do now? Filled out the form, sent the pictures and then A company in Italy got in touch and they can’t seem to do anything without a receipt either. So disappointing. Just does not tally with their company profile

Filson Short Lined Cruiser Jacket: doesn't stand up to anything. Seam opened on the front of the jacket not even after 6 months. 1cm hole right on the front. Store bought 2019 in Berlin, Germany. It makes me mad every time I see it, now I finally took the time to write the review.
