The cable isn't very good quality; this is the second time it has broken in less than three months. I bought replacements, and the same thing happened.

The wire on the Smart Butterfly is made from flexible carbon steel that is designed to bend and give during play. That flex is a safety feature for your cat, and it also means the wire is a consumable wear part — the same way the butterfly refills wear out. The good news is that the wire is replaceable on its own, so you never have to buy the whole toy again.
If a replacement wire wore out unusually fast, we genuinely want to look at it. Please email us at support@evoset.ca with your order number and we'll check yours.

Nice website & friendly staff
Nice website & friendly staff. Fast response & fast delivery. The cat Butterfly Wand is amazing. Great quality & works great. My cats love it! So interactive for them. They can play on their own while it’s in the stand or I make them jump & chase it with the hand held option. Charges in no time. Great original idea for a great toy.

Fluttering butterfly cat toy ✅✅
I bought the fluttering butterfly cat-toy, which my cat absolutely loved! Unfortunately, he loved it a bit too much & kinked the wire, which made the butterfly flutter less. I emailed customer care and received a reply almost immediately, giving me a few different options. On realising there was a kink, the CSO immediately arranged for a new assembly to be sent, no questions asked. The turn-around was amazing, the customer care was immediate and my cat Rudi is happy again now that his fully-fluttering toy is restored. I couldn't ask for better support, and the butterfly toy is pretty cool too!

Probably wouldn't recommend this toy
My cats love this toy, but it doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to. The base doesn’t move at all while they’re playing. I have to push it myself, which defeats the purpose.
The battery life sucks too. I charged it and left it unused, and by the time I put it back out for the cats, it was already dead. It can’t even hold a charge when it’s not being used.
The cats liking it doesn’t make up for those problems. I wouldn’t recommend this toy.

Thanks for the honest feedback! Quick tip on the battery: the toy has a standby mode — a quick press only pauses it. To fully power it OFF, press and HOLD the power button for 5 full seconds until the light goes out. Left in standby, it'll keep sipping battery even when the cats aren't playing.
Same goes for the base movement — it's motion-activated, so it kicks in when your cats get close and bat at the butterfly. If it's sitting still with no cat nearby, that's it saving battery, not a fault.
Give the 5-second hold a try and you'll see a big difference in battery life. And if the base still isn't moving during play, email us at support@evoset.ca — we'll sort it out. 🦋 — The Evoset Team

We've just added a quick-start tip to every Butterfly order: press-and-HOLD the button for 3 full seconds until it starts moving (a quick tap won't start it), plus clearer charging steps. It worked well and my cat loves it but the wand won’t recharge anymore after 3-4 charges.
Spoke to support and have since gone to the cord that came with the wand and seems to be charging ok. Be sure to use the original cord everyone and you have a red charge light.

The impression that the toy is a bit bigger and stronger quality yet I was disappointed with how small it is and the tail got broken easily by the cat it was not a good concept as per our experience I hope to see better quality in the future

It didn't work for my cats.
Update - Absolutely blown away with the near immediate response to my review. The company reached out and are sending their best selling Smart Butterfly Cat Toy. In this day and age it's refreshing to deal with real people!! My two ninjas are eagerly awaiting their new toy.
Unfortunately my cats would not go near the toy. If I recall it was advertised as 'whisper quiet' and it may be if used on carpet. I have only hard surfaces and the noise that it made was very offputting to my crew.
Even if they had played with it I would have had to limit the amount of time they used it because the noise was really irritating. I didn't return it because it seemed like a hassle so I plan to find a friend with a carpeted area in their home to give it to.

Hi Miki, thank you for your feedback! The loud noise and strong vibration happen when the wand head isn't fully assembled and locked into the base socket. When it's not fully attached, the motor vibrates against the base instead of smoothly fluttering the butterfly.
