This product was very helpful in managing my parent's trust after she passed away. Like many others placed in this situation, I had no experience and the product helped me put together a task list and manage all the information I needed to keep. About the only thing that I would have liked more of was how items applied to a trust, rather than an estate that goes through probate. But it didn't stop me at all from executing all of the necessary tasks and tracking all the associated information. Well worth the cost!

Becoming the executor of an estate was a financial coming-of-age project for which I felt distinctly unpreprepared. Although I am working with a lawyer, I have found EstateExec to be a valuable tool for organizing my efforts and keeping track of all the many, many details. The "tasks" tab has helped guide my work with helpful information. EstateExec is like TurboTax for an estate executor. I'm grateful that such an easy-to-use tool has been available.

I am the executor of my sister-in-law's estate in another state. Her sons are her heirs and in their 20's so completely unaware of the many things that had to be done. In addition to being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic so I was not able to travel, my appointment was delayed due to the shutdown of many state and local offices. I had searched for estate checklists and was told by her attorney they did not have one. EstateExec proved to be a breath of fresh air. The timeline and due dates are fantastic as I can anticipate important paperwork deadlines. Who knew 9 months after death was important? The software also allows me to open a separate account for managing the trust that was set up for my nephews and keep track of real estate in multiple states. I will recommend to anyone who has an estate to handle.

EstateExec has been a tremendously valuable tool for me in helping a first-time executor understand and organize the estate process. It has also helped get through the duties as personal representative/executor quickly and accurately. Of particular note is the ease of sharing the data, process, and progress among the heirs to preclude any frustration or misunderstandings. The sample estate is a great way to learn to program without worrying about impacting one's data, but the flexibility makes correcting any errors with the estate quite simple as well. The only thing I would do differently in the future is to get started with EstateExec further before the passing of the decedent to ease accurate capture of the estate assets and liabilities.

I was looking for more guidance on how to organize the information I had to accumulate for my mother's estate and came across this. What REALLY impresses me is that you can drill down on any topic and they have links for more information and what is required by law for YOUR STATE the estate is in. I have two handbooks that tell me everything that needs to be done, but they are general, not state specific and that can save you a lot of grief and time.
I loved that it gave me a task list to follow and I can check off things as I complete them. I've never used Quickbooks, but I imagine this is similar to this. It is worth the money.

I was searching for an easy to use, trustee software solution to settle my fathers estate. After looking over a number of different options, I chose EstateExec. Its super easy to use, has a nice pre-populated task section to leverage, generates reports, tracks activities, and has great customer service as well. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to tackle the task of settling an estate!

I knew I was my Mom's Trustee and SOME of what that entailed. But when you're dealing with your loss, and you have some tension in your family, doing it right the first time is important.

I had googled Trustee responsibilities and found checklists and steps, but I didn't feel comfortable that it was a complete list.

EstateExec is the complete package. It includes tasks, timeframes and reports. I love the idea that at the end of the process (I'm 43% along after 3 weeks!) I will be able to not only generate reports, but also know how much to disburse to each beneficiary. The Task Notes column is a great place to include who I spoke with, notified, etc, to give more of an explanation of the task.

Matt followed up with to see how I like the program and what improvements I'd like to see. One thing I mentioned was the ability to upload documents to the program, so I could keep things like the House market analysis or appraisal so I could keep everything in one place. That benefit would increase the price of the software, so, I'll just keep that in my own folder!

I highly recommend this program, especially for first-time Executors/Trustees. It's easy to learn, inexpensive, and will give you peace of mind once you reach 100%!

Finding this was a godsend. As a first time executor, I was overwhelmed with details during an emotionally fraught time. I am grateful Estate Exec exists as it both simplifies and informs the tasks of estate management. The ability to tailor it for the individual state was a great help as well. Estate Exec has been a blessing. My father passed away just over two months ago, and I had no idea what all was involved in settling an estate. I stumbled across Estate Exec while I was looking for a self-help book regarding being an estate executor. The task list has been invaluable, as I had no idea that so many things needed to be done. I have really appreciated the recommended time line for each task also. The pop up boxes with explanations have also been helpful, as well as the fill in the blank format. Estate Exec has been worth every penny of the license fee.

A friend asked me to serve as executor about a month before he died, and I'd never served as an executor. Started doing my research as soon as he asked, so I knew there was a good deal of organizing and documenting necessary regarding settlement of an estate. Was about to start building spreadsheets when I thought "Bet there's a solution out there", and a quick search brought me to EstateExec. Easy learning curve, logical organization, and a great price. At this point (about 3 months of use), I've used the software for data entry and task tracking. Next up, generating reports, and so far, it looks like it will make the job relatively quick and easy. Glad I bought it and recommend it to anyone who has to be an executor.

Calling all State Representatives! You want to buy the Estateexec software. I found it while looking up how to keep track of my representive fees in MA. The different subject tabs keep everything in order and effortlessly move you through the whole estate process. There are helpful tips to help along the way. Also a timeline review to keep you on track. In my opinion the price is a great value for the product benefits. I recommend this software to anyone in the process of settling an estate. It gives you the knowledge, tools and ability to navigate through a confusing and difficult process.

My 82-year old Dad died unexpectedly on St. Patrick's Day 2020, just days before the COVID19 lockdown and as his daughter, the executor of his estate and someone NOT good at math, I was quickly overwhelmed by how to keep track of everything, including several early disbursements to my siblings due to financial hardship caused by furloughs during that chaotic time. I searched online on and off for 5 months and was shocked that there was nothing available to help "laypeople" with their estate settlement records. I was frustrated that my Excel spreadsheets weren't the right tool for expressing everything and I had fallen way behind. And then I stumbled onto EstateExec! Without this amazing software at its amazingly affordable price, I would have had to hire an accountant to properly document the confusing scenarios we had with 3 checking accounts and 3 siblings needing partial disbursements paid out during a global pandemic before all of the estate expenses were paid/reimbursed.

There IS a learning curve to Estate Exec, so it's not for complete beginners on a computer. But for anyone who is already fairly proficient at any type of office or financial-related software and willing to take the time to learn, Estate Exec will be the answer to your prayers. I was pleasantly surprised when I got a phone call from them a couple of weeks after I paid for my license, asking how it was going and if I had any questions. WOW!! I was so impressed!! We set up a phone appointment for the next day, and the rep answered all my questions and helped me understand the proper way to enter the handful of transactions I was struggling with. He even followed up afterwards to make sure all my issues were resolved, and did a manual reset on their end to flush out a stray transaction I couldn't delete on my own. Their level of customer service is outstanding and rare.

Estate Exec is WELL worth the small investment to make your record keeping easy to manage and understand. I love that all the reports our attorney needed can be created, saved as PDFs or CSV files, or shared with anyone. You can send links giving custom levels of viewing/editing permission to anyone who needs access. Do NOT waste your time trying to use Excel or any random templates off the internet. Nothing else does everything that Estate Exec does. I HIGHLY recommend it!! --Helen S

I would highly recommend EstateExec to anyone that is responsible for the handling of an estate. EstateExec is easy to use and the program provides you with a step by step process that will lead you through your duties as an executor or administrator. EstateExec was a huge help for me in keeping up will all of the assets, funds and disbursements. You will be able to provide your beneficiaries reports as you complete the process. I am currently in the middle of my duties and I am so glad I found EstateExec.

Very few people are prepared to be an executor. When my father passed away I was plunged into this world of legalities and paperwork. It could have easily swamped me, but EstateExec has allowed me to keep good track of transactions, what tasks have been done, and what work still remains. The list of tasks is particularly helpful, because it included some things I hadn't thought of, such as using a insurance finder service to look for insurance policies.

The program also allows users to generate reports for the attorneys you may be working with, or for anyone else who might want to know what's going on with the estate, such as other beneficiaries. I wish that it had an autosave function, but I was easily able to pick up the habit of saving frequently.

There's nothing about being an executor that is easy, especially if you are grieving a loved one. But this program is definitely keeping me from being overwhelmed. It's worth the price for any estate that is large enough to go through the full probate process.

Like most people who find themselves in the role of executor of an estate, I had no previous experience with the process. It's a bit intimidating, particularly if you are trying to settle the estate without the services of a lawyer. Several weeks after I was appointed executor I did a search for tools to help with the process; I mostly found the websites of law firms whose only advice was to hire an attorney. Fortunately I also stumbled across EstateExec, which promised to help executors with the administrative burden that comes with the role. Up until that point I wasn't doing a great job with my mishmash of spreadsheets and documents saved in Google Drive, so I signed up for the free trial. Within a week I was impressed enough by the application that I paid for the full service.

EstateExec is great. It won't settle the estate for you, but it helps you keep track of the financial aspects of the process. I quickly ditched all of my spreadsheets in favor of EstateExec. The application is set up track exactly the information that you'll need for your records. The only improvement would be the ability to save attachments (receipts and the like). Moreover, in addition to tracking the finances of an estate, EstateExec provides you guidance on the process itself - what you should be doing to move the probate process along, explanation of the various steps. Very useful.

All in all the cost of EstateExec is well worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the application to others.

Recently I was asked by the family to take on the role of Administrator of the Estate of their father after the appointed executor renounced. An estate that is fairly large with diverse business, real estate and other assets. I accepted the responsibility well aware of the challenges and duties.
I am presently retired but have a background in law and experience in estate matters. I practiced law for some 22 years and then served for 29 plus years as a Federally appointed Judge in Canada.
With this experience, I am well aware of the importance and responsibility of proper accounting and record keeping in estate administration. I also appreciate the fiduciary duties of estate administrators and executors.
To assist me in doing my work I did an internet search and learned of Estate Exec. I decided to try the Trial Program. I was immediately impressed with its ease of use, record keeping and other capabilities. I purchased a license after only about an hour of use. I am very happy that I became aware of the program and made the decision to acquire it.
The program makes it easy to manage the estate administration, generate reports, keep interested parties informed and answer their questions. I was impressed when contacted by customer support offering assistance.

I knew very little about how to set up the necessary documentation for an estate. I searched the internet and found a reference to EstateExec. I decided to look more carefully at the program and used their free trial version. It showed me the different types of tasks I would have to do and suggested in what time frame they should be done.

In using the program I ran into a problem understanding exactly the difference between executor expenses and cost flow entries. I wrote customer support and they corrected my error and explained the issue.

I have not completed my work yet but am a satisfied user. I like being able to print the various data sets in either Excel or PDF format. It makes it easy for me to keep interested parties informed. $99 well spent.

I’ve been pleased with both the capabilities of the software as well as the support provided. I’d had to have set up my own tracking tool and was in the process of doing so. The suggested tasks focused on the state of PA were very helpful. The ability to share the data with heirs without worrying about changes being added inadvertently has simplified communication. The cash flow tracking works very well.
