Total scam: ordered a free trial, didn’t like the product and called to have subscription (that you start the moment you give your credit card) cancelled- they said I had two options :1. Pay 9.99 usd return fee + shipping cost to return the sample 2. Pay $29.99 usd to keep the product and cancel subscription. There is no mention of the option 1 cost related on their website. I called them on it and they waived the 9.99 return fee but I am still having to pay to return the sample. TOTAL SCAM STAY AWAY. The oil smells bad anyway and I found it too greasy

I love the product. However, when I received the package there was an item missing. The package was also thrown on the porch and not put in the mailbox. The package was damaged as a result.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. As more than 50% of reviews say, THIS IS A HUGE SCAM!!! Stay far, far away from them. Once you accept the promotional 1 ounce of oil, you are then somehow set up with a monthly subscription which you have to cancel within a certain period of time, and also return the product. They supposedly send you an email with this information, but I did not get it. When you contact them to ask about unrecognized transactions ($100+ USD each), they tell you that all they can do is cancel your 'subscription' because the time has passed to give a refund.

I came across this brand on TikTok and I thought I’d give it a try. I’m BLOWN away how amazing it is! I suffer from dry patches not just on my face but on my hands and heels. Essence of Argan Oil literally worked instantly. The application was not heavy and it was not greasy and absorbs effortlessly into your skin. The smell is pleasant, natural and not overpowering. I will not use anything else to moisturize. Even better you only need a very small amount so it lasts a really long time! I’ll never get another brand. Fan for life!

I didn`t think that argan oil could transform my skin so quickly! I see an outstanding difference in the quality of the drugstore oil compared to the one Essence of Argan sell. Well....it`s really worth the price. I use it as a night moisturizer, to enhance my body lotion and as a hair oil. I love it - it supremely hydrates and repairs the skin and hair. Would totally get another skincare product from them!

I was conned into believing I was getting a Free (paying only postage) sample of Essense of Argon to try.
I was charged postage but didn't receive anything.
However, 2 weeks later without my consent I was billed for $159 using the same authorisation details given for the sample. Even my bank, which I advised on the same day the debit came through, have been unable to obtain reimbursement.

Ordered a 'trial' December 10. Cancelled the trial same day by e-mail. Apparently they sent an email back saying they don't accept email cancellations. And why do you think they make you phone? Cue the hard sell, and no written record. How convenient.

They continued to send for three months despite additional attempts to cancel. They even sent another bottle after they had sent an email confirming that they had cancelled the subscription.

And the money-back guarantee? It's a scam too. They can keep sending you bottles, and for each one you need to send it back - but only after phoning them to get an RMA number, and paying for it to be sent back, and then having a 'return' fee deducted when they never should have charged anything in the first place.

It was very interesting talking to them. Normally when you talk to an online merchant about a chargeback through your credit card, they immediately become reasonable. Not Argan. They just double down and say they've got lots of experience fighting back against customers - that's maybe the only thing that's true!

Update after company response - I had called and talked to the company prior to placing the review, and they had every opportunity to make things right. It seems their business model is to offer a low-cost trial to get your credit card, then send costly monthly subscriptions and make it as hard to cancel as possible. Then when people complain, they will offer a one month refund (but only if you pay to send back what you didn't order, and if they admit to receiving the package back). Meantime that let's them keep all the money from the months they refused to cancel the subscription. I've looked into them more since the review, this company is operating on a very large international scale, with unhappy unwilling 'customers' in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, USA, and many other companies. My next stop I think is our small claims court - it needs to be something where it costs the company real money and they can't tilt the whole thing in their favour.

Signed up for a small trial sized bottle and the f#####s have taken me for a massive ride of being ripped off.
Initial Price of Trial was 1$19.52 plus Currency Conversion $0.59 on 22-12-2022. I did receive this bottle, however no invoicing, no receipt, so no way of contacting them, until I did a Goggle Search and found this page.
05-01-2023 they withdrew $163.18 plus Currency Conversion of $4.90.
Next Withdraw was 21-01-2024 of $169.99 plus Conversion of $5.10 which all totals to $420.89
I am on an Old Age Pension, I cannot be affording to be paying all of this for one bottle of TRIAL Argan. Over-drafts have also had to come out of my Account. How can people do this to the unsuspecting, they are rip off's and don't care who they hurt. I am hurting big time.
This i being reported to the Fraud Squad, My Bank at Heritage, and Consumer Affairs.
I have also noticed that every reply they have given back to Reviews, is exactly the same.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK,, I have not received these products, except for a TRIAL bottle. DO NOT TAKE ANYMORE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT.

You write the same reply back to everyone, and yet do nothing about the problem.
I contacted your Customer Service, who inturn says they don't handle this sort of thing, so why are they called Customer Service.

I will continue to post my BAD experience on Face Book and wherever so as every one know the SCAMMERS that you are, so every advertisement you write, I will be there.

Signed up for a small trial sized bottle and the f#####s sent a "confirmation" email with terms & conditions snuck in right at the bottom stating that you have 14 days to trial it and after then you will be charged full price. Who scrolls to the bottom of a confirmation email? Nobody, especially when it's not made clear it also contains Ts & Cs.
Spoken to a customer service rep twice and she was a rude arrogant b###h who would just talk over me without letting me get a word in and read off her script that I agreed to the Ts & Cs.
I did not agree to those Ts & Cs at the time of purchase which is when they should be made clear! And I haven't even received any product so how the hell can I try it & agree to continue?
$185 these thieving scumbags took from me!
I will be fighting this tooth & nail, going to call the bank and Consumer Affairs tomorrow. Anyone else in NZ had this issue?

BEWARE!!! This company is not only a scam company but they play on their words in the terms and conditions that you agree to when ordering. The "samples" "free trial" offer for free (only pay shipping and handling) is a joke. your account gets debited, you receive the product with only a couple of days to try it (given 14 days) then your charged the full price a couple days later. I have tried to reason with these people to no avail. The person I spoke to refused to think outside the box and strictly quoted the terms and conditions. Very rude and would not listen at all. Talked over me the whole time. I asked to speak with someone who has more power than her (just reading from a script) and was told she was the highest there at the time. I requested a call back which of course has not come as of yet, will be surprised if it comes at all. This is an unethical, deceitful, and disgusting way to treat the consumer. Shame on you for allowing this to happen. Believe me, I will fight you!

The Promotional Add for 'Essence of Argan Oil' is an misleading and unprofessional way to scam people out of money.

There really is no supposed 14 day Free Trial. I never even had my product for a week and was charged $150.00 CAD for a bottle of Argan oil that you can purchase many varieties in any department or drug store for much less. And then did not return it when they weren't even supposed to take it in the first place...what happened to my 14 day trial?? I didn't even have time to contact them whether I was happy with it the product or not, and they just took my money. Then I have to fight to get it back. I sent pictures of the screenshots i took with my comment on the Facebook post, as well as the date of my delivery from Canada Post, and the date they took the money from my credit card illegitimately.

I also was also interested in the promotional Trial kits they claimed to be offering at that time which I did not receive. That was the only reason i took notice was to try there Trial kit, had I known they were only going to ship me a bottle of oil I would have never even commented on the post which a member of there company even acknowledged.
I would never recommend this product or company. There PR skills are very unprofessional. Had they been honest, promoted the company based on trust and loyalty to customers they probably may have made a credible name for themselves.
Maybe you should try promoting your products through a small bottle legit freebie before just sending people a bottle of oil then take them for there money.

If you want to buy yourself some beauty products for yourself...Do Your Research First!!
Don't let That word "FREE" make you think your getting anything for Free...cuz first they take your money, then you have to try to get it back through all there loop holes.

This company will never make a name for themselves based on their performance. They probably will end up changing their name and call it something else to try to sell again.
