Top tier product, but now getting too expensive.
Let me start with the positives. I've been using ESET products for well over a decade, and I have very little criticism of the security software itself. It's an excellent product, arguably one of the top three in its category, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for first-class protection. Unfortunately, that's where the praise ends.
Over the past few years, ESET has become increasingly expensive, to the point where I can no longer justify the premium, particularly as a single home user. While I appreciate the quality of the protection on offer, there comes a point when the cost simply outweighs the value.
Then there's ESET HOME, which, quite frankly, is an absolute shambles. It's unnecessarily complicated, remarkably unintuitive, and astonishingly unfriendly to the average user. For a company that produces such excellent security software, the poor experience offered by its account management platform is genuinely baffling.
However, what ultimately pushed me over the edge was the relentless barrage of subscription renewal notifications. Constant pop-ups, sometimes several times a day, reminding me that my subscription is approaching its expiry date are both intrusive and thoroughly irritating. Yes, I'm aware these notifications can be disabled, but frankly, I shouldn't have to go out of my way to silence such excessive reminders in the first place.
A single email reminding me that my subscription is due to expire, followed by one final notification when it actually expires, would be more than sufficient. I don't need to be continually harassed into renewing a product I've been faithfully using for over ten years.
Regrettably, I won't be renewing my subscription this time around. It's a shame that such excellent security software has been let down by increasingly steep pricing, a convoluted account management system, and unnecessarily aggressive renewal reminders.

Subscription issue
No cause for complaint until now. I have automatic renewal for my subscription and this was confirmed as usual with an invoice a few weeks ago. I just returned from holiday, switched on my laptop, only to receive a message from ESET telling me that my subscription is overdue and I no longer have protection!!?? Still don;t know why.
