So we rented an RV for the first time for a weekend of dry camping out near Pozo.
The RV felt like it was going to come undone whenever we hit any bump in the road, everything rattles and shakes. It's an assault on the hearing! lol
Easy to drive, it served its purpose. Slept comfortably and happily the AC worked well.
If we were to ever do this again I'm pretty sure we won't. It's not for us.

My family moved from Maine to California and decided to use an RV for this amazing adventure. The staff at the Linden, NJ office went above and beyond with their assistance and truly made our journey possible. Thank you to Sabine specifically who was very professional and kind. The vehicle was very clean, easy to operate, and perfect for what we needed. The staff at the drop off office in Santa Fe springs were also very professional. I would definitely consider using their service in the future.

The motorhome was in good condition although a little worn out by the use, we had a unit with almost 70,000 miles and some years of use. Despite that, we had no problems in the 15 days we used it.

Alles in allem keine allzu schlechte Erfahrung, aber es gibt einige Punkte die verbessert werden könnten:
1. Fahrzeug-Übernahme (in Denver): ich musste das Übernahmeprotkoll vor Besichtigung unterzeichnen. Das ist absolut nicht kundenfreundlich: nach der Unterschrift hat man keine Möglichkeit mehr Mängel zu beanstanden! Uns hat man ein wesentlich grösseres Fahrzeug hingestellt, für uns mit Lastwagen-Lizenz war das kein Problem, aber es gibt Leute, die dürfen in ihrer Heimat keine solch grossen Fahrzeuge fahren (in den USA hingegen schon). Das kann bei einem Unfall zum Problem werden.
Bei einer anderen Familie (Termin vor uns) hat ein Rad gefehlt - die mussten dann nochmals eine Stunde warten!
2. Fahrzeug: die Wartung ist eher mittelmässig: bei unserem Fahrzeug klapperten beide Seitenfenster (sehr nervig - wir haben uns selber geholfen und Polster dazwischen geklemmt). Die Blackwater/Greywater Schieber waren nicht dicht. Kühlschrank war verrostet und es fehlte ein Regal. Polster im Innenraum/Bett waren schon sehr fleckig (ich bin nicht heikel) und das Geschirr habe ich selber nochmals abwaschen müssen.

3. Freundlichkeit/Hilfbereit: die Mitarbeiter machen Dienst nach Vorschrift, erwarte nicht mehr! Auch Zusatzleistungen gibt es nicht: keine Seife, kein Spülmittel, keine WC-Chemie, eine WC- Papierrolle für eine Mietdauer von 10 Tagen und 4 Personen…

Immerhin war die Rückgabe (in Las Vegas) unkompliziert: alles raus, Fahrzeug hinstellen.

Well organized motorhome with pipelines for hook up and fresh water, awning function, access ramps, easy service and refund for changed fresh water pipeline by checkout. Great customer service from beginning by instructing to the motorhome till the end of our journey. Care for the car and you will be cared by El Monte.

We had an absolutely amazing experience renting our RV from this company! Everything exceeded our expectations—from the quality and cleanliness of the RV to the outstanding customer service.

We traveled over 6,000 km through 16 states in 21 days, visiting some of the most incredible places in the United States, and the RV performed flawlessly the entire trip. It was comfortable, reliable, and became our home on wheels.

The pickup and return process was smooth, and the team was always helpful whenever we had questions. Traveling with our family was an unforgettable experience, and having such a well-maintained RV made all the difference.

Horrible-hot water didn’t work-shower didn’t drain-city water hook up leaked for 1 full day-flooded my campsite and my neighbors as well called roadside service-they were no help-had another night to stay-but had to rent a hotel room instead-will NEVER rent from El Monte RV again-I have a deposit for a rental in September-but after my horrific experience in July-I requested a refund-I have not heard from El MonteRV-that adds insult to injury-I’m very upset and my only outlet is to file a report with the better business bureau I want my deposite back NOW

I rented a very nice 24' RV, and the customer service at booking was excellent. Unfortunately, that's where the good experience ended.

I'm leaving one star because of how poorly things were handled when the generator failed. When it wouldn't start, I called the toll-free number and was on hold for over an hour before anyone picked up. I followed every troubleshooting step the rep walked me through, but we couldn't get it working. The rep noted on my account that there was a problem with the generator and told me to speak with the front desk when I returned the RV.

Without the generator, I had no A/C for the trip — a serious problem for four days in an RV.

When I returned it, the front desk had me stand by while they looked into it. The mechanic came in and confirmed there was a problem, telling me directly: "I did a master reset on the generator and it's working now." So the issue was real and acknowledged by their own staff.

The woman at the front desk was pleasant and professional, but she said her hands were tied and there was nothing she could do. I pointed out that I'd paid for four full days of an RV that was supposed to function — especially the A/C. Her only offer was a $100 credit toward buying an RV from them in the future.

I was blown away — and not in a good way. I paid for a working RV and didn't get one, and their idea of making it right was a discount contingent on giving them more of my money. How could I ever rent from them again? I won't.

A very comfortable motor home. Not terribly difficult to drive, park, or operate. Huge blind spots but wide angle rear view mirrors are provided. Back up camera needs improvement and dashboard could be updated. No smoking allowed which is a problem for smokers on long drives.

Overall, it was a good experience. The RV was reasonably well maintained, although there is still room for improvement in maintenance.,

The RV was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for 6 adults for a week. The staff was helpful, and we truly enjoyed the trip we took in the RV. Thanks to their extensive information at the pickup site and online, we were able to use it as newbies with ease! We will definitely rent from them again!

We had to use El Monte RV after a last minute cancellation on a different company's RV. While we were super grateful that they had RV's available to rent and the staff at this particular RV center were fantastic, the process was a bit annoying. It felt like we were being "nickel and dimed" for a lot of little things. Each mile, pillow, towel, utensil, gallon of fuel... It seems like it would be easier to build a reasonable amount into the total price. It was $75 for a bedding set, so with a family of 6 we opted to go out and buy our own bedding which cost us closer to $200 instead of $450 but then needed to take time to go donate all that bedding before we left as we had flown in. It just seems like a waste of resources. The RV itself was fine, although it would be nice if they put a hard copy of directions or a manual in the RV as where we were traveling did not have cell service to look up the QR codes that were posted in the RV. Again, overall, positive experience... some things just left a bit of a sour taste in the travel mouth.

The briefing on the handover of the motorhome was complete and friendly. There were no outages during the tour.

I booked an RV from July 24th through July 31st for a family road trip from Denver to Yellowstone. Before booking, I was assured that all of their RVs were no more than two years old, which gave me confidence that the vehicle would be reliable. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be our family's first RV adventure and a memorable vacation turned into a series of mechanical failures that disrupted our plans almost every step of the way.

1. Coolant Leak on Day One

Shortly after picking up the RV, we stopped at Costco in Denver to buy groceries. While my family was shopping, I stayed in the RV with the kids. When they returned, we noticed fluid leaking from underneath the engine compartment. Upon opening the hood, I found that the coolant reservoir was boiling and spraying coolant.

I immediately contacted customer support, but it took approximately 2–3 hours before I was able to reach someone and receive assistance. The support team could not identify the root cause and simply advised me to purchase coolant from a nearby gas station and refill it. This delayed our departure by almost half a day, leaving us stranded in Denver until the evening.

After inspecting the vehicle myself, I discovered that the coolant reservoir cap had not been properly secured, which appears to have caused the coolant to leak. This is something that should have been caught during a basic pre-rental inspection.

2. Generator Failure on Day Five

On the fifth day of our trip, the generator failed at the exact moment we needed it most. Throughout the trip, I had reserved RV sites with full hookups, so I had never needed to use the generator until we planned a scenic riverside stop to cook lunch and spend quality time with our children.

Instead, the generator would not start. To make matters worse, we were in an area with no cell phone reception, forcing us to abandon our plans and drive until we found a signal so I could contact customer support. Although the representative eventually helped resolve the issue over the phone, we lost the opportunity to enjoy one of the experiences we had specifically planned for our family vacation.

3. Water Pump Failure on Day Six

The most frustrating issue occurred on the sixth day while we were driving back from Yellowstone to Denver. Our plan was to drive most of the day, stop somewhere safe in the evening, cook dinner in the RV, spend the night, and complete the drive to Denver the following morning.

Unfortunately, the RV's water pump failed, leaving us without running water. When I contacted customer support, the response I received was shocking. I was told, "You're due to return the RV tomorrow morning, so why don't you just drive it back as it is?"

This response completely ignored the fact that we were still in the middle of our trip and relying on the RV for basic living needs. Without running water, the RV became practically unusable for our planned overnight stop. We were forced to cancel our plans, purchase dinner from a restaurant instead of cooking as planned, drive approximately nine continuous hours back to Denver, and pay for a hotel because the RV was no longer suitable for overnight use.

Overall Experience

I rented this RV because I trusted your assurance that your fleet consisted of vehicles less than two years old and would be dependable. Instead, I experienced multiple mechanical failures throughout the trip, each of which disrupted carefully planned family activities and caused unnecessary stress, delays, additional expenses, and lost vacation time.

This was our family's first RV vacation, and we had looked forward to creating lasting memories together. Instead, we spent a significant portion of our vacation troubleshooting vehicle problems, waiting for customer support, changing plans, and dealing with preventable mechanical issues.

I understand that mechanical failures can happen, but three significant issues during a single rental—especially beginning within hours of pickup—indicate that the RV was not properly inspected or maintained before being rented.

Given the repeated failures, the disruption to our vacation, the additional costs we incurred, and the poor response we received from customer support, I believe it is reasonable to request appropriate compensation for this experience. I hope you will review this matter seriously and work toward a fair resolution.

My experience this trip was great I had no problems or issues. I got rv on schedule it drove perfectly everything worked good return it no problems.
