I would highly avoid this company worker by the name of Mikey is a dirty little sexual harassment sex pest! When it turns out he also has a partner and new born baby at home. Knowing I’m a married women would not leave me alone on social media! Mans a creep! I’d advise no women to be home alone and let this man work in your home. Avoid and find better company is my best advise!

We've used Edinburgh Sash & Case quite a few times, but the latest job really exceeded our expectations.
We had two full S&C windows replaced with double-glazed units. Scott (the joiner) and Sean (the painter) could not have been more careful and diligent. They took time to thoroughly cover carpets and furniture before starting, ensured the windows were properly installed and painted, and made sure we were happy with the result before they left. A really good job, and very happy with our new windows. Will definitely use them again!
This company fitted our windows in 2018 and until we contacted them recently to advise that we had two blown windows we were satisfied.
Their response to our approach on this issue was "Can I just confirm, were these windows fitted by ourselves?" This from a director of the company.
No reply was received to our confirmation that this was indeed the case and we had to chase. We were then asked to complete a snagging link.
Under the scope of warranty shown on the link this states "The tradesperson will attend the property and attend to the reported issues. Any issues not covered by the guarantee will be charged at £0.96 per minute + VAT. Please note that if none of the issues are warranty repairs there will be an additional call out charge of £65 + VAT."
We found that their 7 year guarantee only covers standard double glazed units, which we thought we had, which have a sightline of approximately 11mm. However for low sightline units only a five year guarantee is offered and apparently we only have low sightline units.
As our original quotation did not mention anything to the effect that we were not purchasing standard double glazing units we questioned this and the response was :- "Low sight line units are any units in astragalled windows - it is only 1/1 style windows that have non low sight lines" Anyone who understands this response I suspect must be in the double glazing business.
We reverted again with the question as to why their quotation did not detail the poorer quality windows and simply refers to double glazed units, but this is not something that the company is prepared to answer.
Having paid in excess of £10,000 for two bay windows we would have expected these to last 20/25 years and not to expire within a seven year period.
The company did offer to provide us with a quotation for rectification but this is not something we will be taking up.
Unfortunately the double glazing industry is effectively unregulated and Edinburgh Sash & Case do not belong to any trade body which might arbitrate. Given the probable lack of repeat business their attitude appears to be "new customers only"
Anyone dealing with this company needs to consider the phrase caveat emptor.
We have been really impressed with the quality of the work and in the months since our windows were replaced, we have noticed the improvement. We face the North Sea, so this is important.
However, we were less impressed with the office: demands for money came with short notice periods given for payment; we got one request for final payment that turned out not to be final; and no-one took the trouble to ask were we satisfied with the work when final payment was requested.
We asked for a written guarantee, but were told the guarantee is on the website. This is true, but we wanted a signed document that we can pass on if we sell the house. It eventually arrived in the post yesterday, two months after the work finished.
It seemed there was a lack of project management: the whole thing took nearly four weeks, though we were initially told installation would take 9 days. It turned out that they hadn't included painting in that estimation, and there was a gap of a week between installation being completed and the painting starting. We wouldn't have minded if that had been our expectation from the outset.
We had a really poor experience.
We had to pay upfront.
Once installed, and snags were noticed, they walked away.
Each window was close to 4k. So for that money, we had expected more.
They were also really rude to deal with.
I would like to warn people to carefully select a firm, we wish we d known.
We've been complaining about multiple misted units since having all of our windows replaced. The companies response is that "they are not misted enough"
I thought windows were supposed to be clear?
We have several units that are completely misted permanently. This is made worse as they are part of windows that have upper and lower units so when one is clear and the other is totally misted it looks awful.
All we have asked for is someone in a position of authority from the company to come out and discuss the issue. So far they have refused.
Avoid at all costs!
We had our windows replaced this summer and were very happy with Innes the joiner as well as the painters Ken and John. All of them punctual, friendly, thorough and hard working. We were a bit concerned about the T&C requiring full payment just as the work had started. However, there was no need to worry that they would leave the job unfinished. When there had been a slight misunderstanding on draft proofing, Innes came back and did the extra work required. And when seagulls made painting outside the dormers impossible, John came back and completed the work two months after they had expected to finish the job. Highly recommended.
We have now had all our windows installed by Edinburgh Sash and Case and whilst the individual product quality is really good, the fine detailed precision and communication was not great.
Frustratingly the fittings we had installed on our windows a few years ago didn't seem to be available and we therefore now have different handles and latches at the front and back. The various fittings have also been put in slightly different places on each window and are wonky, so they are not symmetrical or level. When we had the windows installed a few years ago the simplex hinges had been installed too close to the window and marked the wood black and also took a small chunk out of the wood.
We had to get a new frame put in for our bedroom windows, however, this has now impacted the way our shutters sit in their boxes and has left a gap on both sides because the frame is narrower. Our shutters have also been re-hung incorrectly and don't close as they did.
When we had the windows installed a few years ago, they got quite sticky as the brush seals had been painted over. This time round though, I have to say we were very happy with our painter Ken and his work. He was very approachable and keen to do a good job, which he did.
From our experience, paying for works that are yet to be done or that have only just commenced is quite uncommon. We received an invoice on the 2nd day of work and were told we needed to pay it on or before the 1st day of work. We were informed that this was on the T's & C's, however, the invoice stated we had a week to pay it. I made them aware of this and suggested they amend their invoice, however, it happened again when we were sent the painting invoice (again the invoice stated we had a week to pay).
Having said these things, the joiners were pleasant and took care to cover furniture before carrying out the works. They were efficient and punctual, arriving when they said they would.
A lot of minor issues which could have been easily resolved with a little more thought and consideration. Definitely something to consider before booking them in (especially if you are a perfectionist)!
We used Edinburgh Sash and Case (who are also ‘K-Constriction’) to renovate and/or replace where required all five of our sash and case windows and will definitely NOT be using them again! They sent an inexperienced joiner as the lead for the job and given how the windows have turned out, he was definitely well out of his depth.
Our shutters, which fitted perfectly before they did the job are now ill-fitting and two of them no longer close. One of the windows has so much space either side, you can literally move it side to side by a couple of centimetres, which also means they are no good for insulation.
When we contacted the company to complain, they said they could get someone out to look at a cost of £50 for the call out charge. We reluctantly agreed, but no one ever showed up.
The company also said that they use ‘Edina Locks’ fittings, which Edina Locks denies and the fittings they do use will start to discolour and rust within 24 months.
PLEASE AVOID USING EDINBURGH SASH AND CASE OR K-CONSTRUCTION

We recently have had our windows renovated and/or replaced. Adam the joiner and John the painter were absolutely fantastic. Always on time, did what they said they would do, clean and tidy after their work. From start to finish these guys were on the ball, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with. We couldn't recommend this company enough.
Quality product; skilled and efficient joiner; fine, careful work by painters; prompt office communication. A friendly, expert and reliable approach by the team overall.
If only having all work people in to do work was as good an experience as this has been. Polite, punctual and nothing too much trouble! Really impressed and glad I went with this company as you get what you pay for. Would not hesitate to recommend or use again, although as they have done such a brilliant job doubt I will need to!
We embarked on the replacement of all 11 windows in our Georgian house in May 2019. We opted for accoya which upped the price. The Edinburgh Sash and Cash salesman was also a joiner and he was fantastic. Unfortunately, this is where the positive review ends. Following a protracted installation the snagging issues weren’t resolved to our satisfaction. We withheld a percentage of the fee due to the attitude of the owner. Windows were ill fitting and corners had been “rounded” off. After a couple of the windows had been sorted we paid the remainder and vowed never to use the company again. It is almost two years since the windows have been installed. Two of the double glazing panes have blown and the fixtures, screws and locking mechanisms have rusted. Edinburgh Sash and Case did not use stainless steel screws nor properly sealed the wood and the acid in the accoya is corroding the metal. I urge anyone thinking of engaging Edinburgh Sash and Case to ask far more questions than we did and shop around. We have many more windows to install over the coming years and we will go elsewhere with our business.
Edinburgh Sash and Case refurbished all my windows and I can highly recommend them. The joiners Daniel and James, and the painters Gary and Stevie, did an excellent job, they were punctual, efficient, considerate and the windows look fantastic.
Edinburgh Sash & Case were recommended to us by a trusted tradesman from Grantown on Spey. From the outset they were professional. No sales jargon or hard sell pitch. We had eleven arched victorian windows refurbished (as we are in a conservation area). Their joiner and fitter, David Paterson, was responsible for surveying and fitting. He was punctual, professional and polite and did a splendid job. He kept us informed throughout the process and offered solutions to window fitments. Lastly, and importantly, when he had finished David left our home tidy and free of debris.
Highly recommended, we had problems with 2 other companies but sash & case came to the rescue with good quality workmanship and attention to detail. Excellent work.
Fabulous workmen who were thorough, reliable and unobtrusive! They did a great job and tidied up after themselves. Very pleased with bespoke windows and door. Delighted to recommend!
Very professional service at all stages of the job (upgrading of Victorian bay window from single glazing to double glazing).
Joiner and painter were both very punctual and extremely hard working. Always cleaned up before they left. Very willing to please and I am delighted with the end result. Great job!
Well done to sash and case great job no complaints.
