Love watching my impact forest grow and grow…
Stumbled across this site and signed up. Now I absolutely love watching my forest grow each month. It’s great that you can purchase extra trees and fund extra projects each month. I love being able to see a photo of my actual U.K. tree. Super easy to use and very satisfying to be able to track how each of your purchases is really helping the planet. Love it!

I started to look at offsetting my…
I started to look at offsetting my carbon footprint a while ago. I found this company quite by accident. Now I plant three trees a month, two abroad and one in he UK. I love that I get a photo of my UK based tree. And I can easily offset extra carbon dioxide via a wide range of different projects. Amazing company and website, that I am grateful for finding. I love the dashboard where you can see the Ecologi overall and your personal impact.

Looking forward to working together
I am just starting to investigate how we can work with Ecologi but I can already see that they offer much more than I initially thought they did. The process of contacting them and having an initial chat was really smooth. Our contact there is clearly extremely knowledgeable and it already feels as though we are in safe hands with a company who are making a genuine difference.

Started using Ecologi to offset Carbon…
Started using Ecologi to offset Carbon Dioxide produced operating our Taxi/Chauffeur company after discovering that despite having a Hybrid petrol car we produce over 1 tonne of CO2 a month.
Ecologi was simple to set up and make contributions to projects to reduce our footprint.

527% increase in cost of a tree .. because “inflation”
Oct-2021: £18.00/month = 48 trees planted and 4.6 tonnes of CO2 offset per month
Oct-2023: £18.80/month = 8 trees planted and 1.3 tonnes CO2 offset per month
The claimed reason for this change: inflation.
They are claiming that the past 2 years of inflation have caused:
- The cost of a tree to increase by 527%
- The cost of CO2 offset to increase by 269%
That’s ludicrous.
For context, the price of a loaf of bread in Oct-2021 was £1.06 and in Oct-2023 is £1.37 (i.e. a 29% increase).
They also shut down their community forum last year for some reason…
Trustpilot, I don’t trust the numbers of this for-profit company. And given the context, that is really upsetting.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, we really appreciate hearing from our community.
We understand that this is a considerable increase. It's important to explain that prior to this price change, only 2 of our 8 global reforestation partners were charging us less than we were charging our customers ($0.15 and $0.20 respectively).
Our other 6 global reforestation partners were charging us more than £0.24 per tree, up to £1.50 per tree from our most expensive partner. We were able to offer our customers such a low price per tree by averaging out the cost of all the trees we were funding. This means that Ecologi customers were able to fund trees that were much more expensive than what we charged for them. At the £0.24 per tree price, Ecologi customers were regularly funding trees with an actual price of up to 6 times what Ecologi paid for it.
Now, we continue to balance the cost of more expensive trees with less expensive trees in our global mix, but the price of some of the cheapest trees in that global mix is increasing (the majority increased by 5 times). Unless we raise our prices we will make a significant loss on every tree Ecologi customers buy - clearly this is not a sustainable business model. We want to be around for the long run, helping to direct funding to the world's most impactful climate projects. To do so, we have to make sure we set our prices at a point that means we are running a sustainable business.
Ecologi continues to provide one of the cheapest prices per tree on the market, despite this price increase. Not only that, but every Ecologi customer can rest assured that each tree they fund will be planted by an experienced and highly respected planting partner, in some of the highest quality reforestation projects in the world. We will never take decisions that lead to a reduction in the quality of the reforestation projects we support, even when it might mean a small decrease in price; we will continue to make the decisions we believe are best for our planet.
