Absolutely horrendous experience!! My mother sold some of her jewellery as she no longer wore it but wanted a fair price. We received a ridiculously low offer which was insulting so asked for our item... Vis mer

It is what it is..
I was very happy to have such a fast efficient service but rather disappointed at the low payment for what I sent.
Great service and fair prices
After a mix up with my first package to this company things got sorted relatively quickly and I felt confident enough to order a second selling pack. The price offered for my goods seemed fair and once I accepted the offer the money was in my account promptly with no fuss, I found don’t sit on it to be a good organisation to deal with and have no hesitation in recommending them.
Impressed
I heard an advert on the radio about Don’t Sit On It and thought I’d give the company a try. I had some old cameras sitting in the cupboard that were gathering dust, so posted them to Don’t Sit On It. The following day, I received my offer, which I accepted, and the money was in my account immediately.
I am very impressed with this company and will certainly use them again.
Shame there's not less than a 1-star
Shame there's not less than a 1-star
Sent info pack and instructions prompt and keen with follow up emails/texts!
I sent a few items first to "test the system"
I had post office receipt so knew items had been signed for
Did not receive a call/offer as promised straight away
When i did chase a valuation it was £1 - yes £1 for 1 gold bracelet, 1 plated bracelet , silver spoon and a collectable coin! Naturally i asked for them to be returned
must cost them more in postage and admin than it's worth?? Will not be using again
Beware! Will try and give you as little as possible!
So the good points:
Quick to receive pack to send items off
Polite & helpful interactions over text with staff
The bad points:
Initially offering ridiculously low offers, I had two 18 carat white gold and diamond rings and one 9 carat white gold ring with diamonds. They offered £159!
They then upped this offer saying they could replenish & resell the items and offered me £263.
I refused this offer and asked for the items to be returned, which they were and I was pleased to see they were packaged well.
I took my rings to a local company who checked the rings and instantly offered me £425, nearly triple the first offer!
He put my offer figures into the computer and told me the percentage value that don’t sit on it were getting and what I was getting:
First offer - 70% them, 30% me
Second offer - 50% them, 50% me
His offer - 10% him, 90% me
I wouldn’t recommend don’t sit on it/text gold!
Communication was swift
Communication was swift; I took 10 days to pack my items & they didn’t chase me for an update during this time. Paperwork was simple to complete & easily sent items back via Royal Mail (no cost to myself). Received a generous quote the day after posting my items & money in my account a few days later. Highly recommended this Company.
Derisory Offer! Avoid this Company!
I had never used any service like Don't Sit on It before, so took care to read the reviews beforehand. They were divided into two sectors, those praising the service and happy with the amount they received, and those who were definitely not happy. So, I approached with caution, but still with some optimism.
Being fairly knowledgeable about the value of my items (I have sold similar on eBay before) I had a rough idea of what they were worth - between £7-£15 per item, depending on make, condition, age, size etc. The whole bundle was worth between £200- £300. I knew I wouldn't get anywhere near that, but had mentally decided to accept any offer over £50, as I felt that was a fair price: this way, Don't Sit On It would make a very good profit when they sold everything on, and I would have some ready money towards my latest vet bill.
The process was straightforward, the service was speedy, and I was quickly sent a text offering £2.55. Doing the maths, at £2.55 per item that would have given me just under £80. Very satisfying, but the text was unclear whether the offer was for £2.55 for each item or for the lot.
I therefore replied saying that before I could decide I needed clarification. I stated that I was assuming the offer was for £2.55 per item, but please could they confirm this? Back came the reply it was £2.55 for the whole lot. Which worked out at about a derisory 7 pence per item. Not acceptable. So I replied politely saying it was far too low, and stating what I felt to be a fair price, and if they couldn't meet it then please to return my items. Back comes what was very obviously a scripted reply "we want the money to go to our customers not on postage" and the employee was "sure we could negotiate", (which briefly raised my hopes that this time I might be offered a realistic price) ... and then went on to offer me just £5 for the lot! Just No! So I texted back saying unfortunately that was not enough, so please could they return my items.
My parcel took considerably longer to be returned than to be delivered. I had, of course, cleaned and polished all items before carefully wrapping them in bubble wrap, and securely packing them. When they came back, they were poorly packed ( the parcel was rattling -never a good sign!) and everything was filthy. Goodness knows where they had been. 11 of the items were returned damaged, and of these, 5 were beyond repair -as if someone had taken a hammer or similar implement to them.
So rather than making some money with Don't Sit On It, I have actually lost around £40 on the items that were damaged beyond repair. And that doesn't begin to account for my time I shall have to spend mending the damaged items that are repairable, and the loss of value as they are no longer "undamaged" vintage pieces.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
BEWARE!
Money in bank within minutes of accepting offer…
Was very easy to do and they were very efficient. Money was in the bank in minutes of accepting offer
So at the moment of this message being…
So at the moment of this message being written, we were offered a very very low number for a 9ct Rotary Watch - which is fine, Thye offered we declined, but they have ignored every message to return to us, texts, email and phone calls, when you sell something it tends to be because you need to raise money, so ok fair enough you have your business model it doesn't suit us but you did say you would return the goods immediately if we weren't happy with the offer - but no communication apart from the same offer being sent to us, very worrying to say the least

I sent a large box of items on the 5 th June I have made 3 calls to which there was only a recorded message I have emailed twice and gone to the website and asked where my offer and still nothing / very disappointed to be honest it says on the advert 48 hrs but I’m still waiting it’s now 12 th ???

Appreciated small payment but was disappointed with it. I sent 82 items some of them were precious memories.
Good prompt service I think fair price
A fast and efficient rip off
Very fast and efficient, got my money within 60 minutes of "agreeing" valuation. BUT BUT BUT the offer I got was derisory, only about 8% of cost price and that's before allowing for inflation. These guys are on to a good thing - they get you to package stuff up and send it to them, then they offer a pittance which I reckon most people (like me) just accept as the easy way out and because its easier than having to go through the whole process again with another buyer. If you have items of genuine value DO NOT SEND THEM TO THIS ORGANISATION. They will rip you off.
Just as the radio advert states parcel…
Just as the radio advert states parcel arrives quotation given if accepted payment made. So easy
DONT NOT SEND YOUR ITEMS!!!
DONT NOT SEND YOUR ITEMS!!!
My boyfriend sent several silver items and a chunky white gold band.
They firstly offered an insult of value, of which he declined, they then offered a slightly higher offer, of which was still declined, my boyfriend stated there was a solid white gold ring, to which they came back and stated they missed that item due to it being stuck in the corner of the packaging and then therefore offered more, of which they were told we want the items back.
He sent off 7 items to only recieve 6 back, they are liars and from reading these reviews thieves too!!!
Avoid… I read the reviews before i was…
Avoid… I read the reviews before i was offered £11.73.
A massive insult. I asked for them to send my items back hey then offered £20.00. I couldn’t be bothered with all the with all their lies. It was only x3 items, that I didn’t want any way. Don’t get ripped off. Complete waste of time. Please save yourself the hassle.
Shame is a scammed.
Jewellery
It was simple enough to get in touch with Don't sit on it, within days the return envelope was sent to me. The contact that D.S.O.I made with me was excellent keeping me in the loop and the valuation for the items I sent was more than I expected. I have no problem sending them items again and recommend them to other people
Simple and stress free
It was very simple and stress free. The bits and pieces I sent off were lying around, hidden in drawers, broken and not being used. Far better to send them off and get some cash. What I was offered felt reasonable for what I sent.
Excellent service
Sent parcel on Tuesday and received payment on Thursday.
The silver cutlery wasn't needed any more and the cash was welcome.
Excellent Company and service
I sent my goods and within a few days I had an offer and after accepting the amount, the money was in my bank within 20 minutes! Excellent service! So easy to send as well - just take the filled envelope to the post office and wait for your offer! I would totally recommend Don’t Sit on it!
