Over roasted the coffee I ordered. A couple of bags of Medium Roast Gesha was roasted dark with oils evident on the surface of the beans. No good for pour over coffee.

Their coffee compared to the major brands is so much better. They are more competitive. When you look at the major brands, such as Starbucks, Seattle's best. They sell 12oz bags at a higher price than Don Pablo's 16oz bags. I've been a Don Pablo customer for over 13 years. I like a Dark Roast. Don Pablo's coffee is high in flavor and low acidic content. Most major and small roasters when you ask for Dark Roast , it's bitter and very acidic. I drink expresso daily. I'll have regular coffee about 5- 7 cups a day. I have an amazing coffee maker that grinds the beans fresh for every cup.
I was going to give it 4 stars originally because the past year has been difficult being on subscription shipping. I changed it to 5 stars only because of the coffee. I ordered from Amazon, it was a bit more expensive and at times they didn't have the roast I liked. But Don Pablo far surpassed any of the local and supermarket shelf brands. The best is usually worth waiting for

I waited a year and got no coffee. I kept calling them and they said it would be soon but it never showed up. It was a $220 order and I think all he's doing is making interest on people's money. I will never order from these people again. The coffee is great but the owner sucks. This is nothing but a scam. If you really like the coffee buy it from Amazon.

Ordered over the years. Great coffee but delay in shipping gets worse every time. This time it has been a month. Called and told supply chain issue and offered a refund. Cancelled the order and received an email verifying cancellation. Now to see if I get my money. I did notice that the weekly promotional emails that I have been getting for years suddenly stopped. Not sure if just me? Not a good sign. Buy at a store but not recommend buying from their website.

I want to add a comment to my previous review of 02-26-26. Why does Don Pablo send emails to their customers, if they cannot deliver....I should unsubscribe from their emails. It is frustrating & insulting to their customers.

The coffee is great quality. However, I can no longer rely on the company to actually ship my order. I've had to cancel 2 orders due to extreme shipping delays (though they always charge my card as soon as the order is placed).

My most recent order was placed on Oct 8. By Oct 22, the order still had not shipped. When I contacted customer service to ask about the delay, this was the response I received:

"Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for the delay. We estimate your order will ship next week. We can offer you a full refund if you wouldn't like to wait. We are waiting for a shipment of coffee coming from Colombia and your order will be shipped as soon as we get it.

You can also reach out to Darron Burke, our founder, directly, at dburke@ burkebrands.com to help expedite your order."

It was a red flag when they suggested I email the founder directly. Why should I need to do that? I decided to wait a few more weeks. By Dec 15, the order STILL had not shipped, so I canceled for a full refund.

I will not be ordering from them again. Which is sad because this was my favorite decaffeinated coffee for many years.

This is a review of Don Pablo, Pablos Pride Guatemalan whole bean coffee.
A few year ago I reviewed this particular whole bean coffee and I was not very kind, so I decided to revisit it. I purchased a two pound bag from my local Sams club. This two pound bag was purchased for $18.99 or 59 cents/ounce. When I got it home and opened the bag I was greeted by a very fragrant sweet aroma of freshly roasted coffee. The bag itself was of a very high quality re-sealable mylar/foil with a standard degasing valve. The package had some basic information about the company and how to brew the coffee but no real information about the coffee inside other than 100% Arabica, Guatemala single origin coffee and an expiration date of 11 months in advance.
The coffee beans looked to be roasted on the darker side of medium and had a very slight almost non existent oil sheen. The beans seemed to be of a high quality but I did find a few defects and these could have come from shipping damage.
I ground 66 grams to about 770 microns on an Ollygrin BG710T conical burr grinder, this would be setting 12. When grinding the coffee, it had a very nice sweet nutty coffee aroma. I brewed this coffee with 1.2 liters of cold filtered water in a Cuisinart CPO850 Precision Pour Over automatic drip coffee maker. This particular brewer tends to mask or hide the aroma of the coffee being brewed but I was still getting a good sweet, nutty, cocoa coffee aroma.
Upon cupping this coffee the aroma was of a roasted nut basic coffee aroma with a baking spice twist. Drinking this coffee I found a nice velvety medium mouth feel, well balanced, virtually no acidity with a mild not lingering cocoa finish. The SCA rates coffees with a cupping score of 80 or higher as specialty grade coffee. Using their scoring method I would rate this coffee with a cupping score of 88. It should be noted that I am not a coffee professional and this rating is only my opinion.
I am glade I went and revisited this Pablos Pride Guatemalan whole bean coffee it turned out to be a very satisfying cup of coffee worthy of you table anytime of day. At $18.99 for a two pound bag or 59 cents/ounce it is a good value and comes highly recommended.

Apparently this is an ongoing problem with donpablo. I've ordered coffee several times before and never had a problem till now. I placed an order on Nov 9 2025 and now Dec 10 and still no coffee. I reached out to them after 3 weeks and was told it would be sent in about a week. Haven't received it yet so just informed them to refund my money. I won't be ordering from them again. This is poor b usiness. If this continues they will be going out of business.

I refuse to ever order from this company. It was my first order, paying $60+ for coffee. Had high hopes but after 3.5 weeks with no delivery, I reached out to them asking where my order was. They made excuse and told me its common to wait 3-7 days to fulfill an order. Um sure, but I had been waiting 3.5 weeks. Then they said it'd be at least 1.5 weeks til they shipped. So 6 weeks of waiting... for coffee? Nope. I canceled my order. Hoping to see my refund tomorrow. What a pathetic excuse for a company. Never again and I'll NEVER recommend them. Customer service is awful.

Good coffee but don’t expect to get your order in a timely manner. Just cancelled our last order after waiting 6 months, yes 6 months with repeated assurances it was on the way. It wasn’t.

I love their whole bean decaf and I order the 5lb bag plus a 1lb bag, but I am coming up on 4 months waiting for my order. I just keep getting emails saying they have supply chain issues. I have called numerous times, but no one gives you any information onthe phone they just tell you they will send your message to shipping and have them call you, but of course no one calls back. I am debating on getting a refund, but I keep thinking ok maybe it will come soon. If I get a refund it will put me at the back of the line. In the mean.time I tried a different brand and it was terrible. I am now used to the strong chocolate and honey notes in this coffee. It is also a medium to dark coffee and the other I ordered was medium with fruit notes.

Was initially good but then my shipment began never shipping. So i took a break and went to another company and came back a few months later. Still an issue. Email says its going to ship and then weeks go by and never ships. Cant rely on them for my coffee anymore.

While the coffee is good and the price point great, they never ship on time. It can take over a month and longer to get a shipment. If they would only communicate with their customer base and just be honest it would help!

I ordered weeks ago and my credit card was charged immediately. I have been getting regular emails saying that they have supply chain issues.
I saw their low acid coffee in Costco the last time I was there and did not buy it because I expected that sooner or later I'd get my coffee. I decided to cancel the order because I figured out that if they really had supply chain issues I would not have seen the stuff in a Costco. This is too bad because I like the coffee.
I've decided in the future after this experience that any company that charges my credit card before they ship the goods needs to be eliminated from my list.

Placed an order over a month ago and I am still waiting for it to be fulfilled. They did take my payment right away but are blaming the delay on supply chain issues. It seems from other reviews those issues have been going on for years. I haven't cancelled the order yet, but am close. It does feel like they might be having financial difficulties and be headed toward another bankruptcy. It's too bad as I hear their coffee is good. I will update if I receive the coffee.

No customer service. It has been over 50 days since order and I still haven't received my coffee. I emailed them at the 30 day mark and there was no response.

Coffee is great but order fulfillment is beyond acceptable. To add to this frustration, now you can no longer speak with customer service or sales directly but rather a phone service center/person.
Going into 45 days since I placed my order and no sign of it being ship soon.
Don Pablo Coffee needs to fix this issue promptly or will lose customers.

I enjoyed my coffee when I first ordered from Amazon but after just receiving one order directly from Don Pablo I have been charged twice and received no product just emails stating there are delays fulfilling orders. I have canceled my subscription and managed to get my credit card refunded the two charges. Hopefully when things get straightened out I can be a customer again.

I received with much dismay your notification of yet another delay in fulfilling my order from March 4th of this year. I’m nearly out of my favorite and only coffee that I’ve been buying for the last 16 years.

The claim of supply chain issues doesn’t fly for me. Why even at the hight of the pandemic I had experienced no delivery issues much less one of 23 days so far. Additionally
I see Costco has no problem getting their order fulfilled by you and find it not coincidental since Don became a Burke brand.

So here it is not even 6AM and I’m once again asking for you to please expedite my order.
