Simple examinations will not provide sports certs for over 40s
The website references providing sports certificates for a number of extreme sporting events, including the Marathon des Sables. What it fails to mention is that they will not issue these certificates to anyone over the age of 40 (ie. c.60% of ultramarathon runners) without ECG, blood testing, echocardiogram.
I needed a certificate for a 50km trail race in France and unfortunately wasted my time attending this appointment. Blood pressure, radial pulse and other tests were performed, all satisfactory, but this was not enough assurance for the doctor to sign the statement that "examination by Doctor does not reveal any indication against the practice of running in competition"
For reference, I run 3,000+km per year, have run 6 marathons in the last 3 years (all with sub-3:30 times) as well as numerous other competitive races, all with no resulting health complaints.
Given the above, I would suggest that anyone over 40 seeking a certificate for endurance sporting events seeks another route to obtain it, irrespective of their level of fitness or experience.

Whilst we recognise your regular participation in marathons and endurance activities, this decision was made due to the specific physiological demands associated with the nature of the ultra-marathon.
We understand that this was not the outcome you had anticipated and our medical director has contacted you personally with a more detailed explanation into the reasons behind the doctor's decision. We sincerely hope this provides you with clarity on the situation.
As we were unable to complete your marathon certificate, we have processed a full refund for your consultation.

This means that your bank is temporarily holding the funds and these be will promptly refunded to you directly from your bank provider.

Useless App & fraudulent
Useless App & fraudulent. I booked paying €84 Euro to meet Dr Patel at Flaxman Terrace, unable to find the location, called help desk but all in vain, no one answered.
Beware & don’t use this.
As a tourist in london, I directly went to UCLH , they treated me immediately with zero cost & just paid for antibiotics.
They can’t refund me

Friendly service - negative result
Easy to book and friendly service. However, the issue I had was an academic and administrative one. Which wasn't handled great.
I mentioned exactly the wording I wanted. This was not replicated, resulted in the whole process falling apart. I understand it is at the doctor's discretion. I really wished it had worked out.
Ended up paying for a consultation that didn't amount to anything but wasted 2 weeks of my time, which is extremely unhelpful and frustrating.

Great support and ease of booking with same day appointment available. The entire team were great, and felt valued.
Really helpful with a minor amendment required to referral letter due to a mistake by myself, amended quickly and efficiently, no chasing!

Excellent affordable private GP service
I have used DocTap twice in Hammersmith. I was seen by Dr Nitin Mehra. I booked a 15 minute appointment both times and the doctor did an thorough and efficient examination and prescribed medication which has helped with pain relief. Highly recommended.

Dr was very professional
Saw Dr. Patel in Kings Cross. Couldn't have been better. Got seen on time, very professional consultation, prompt tests booked.
The door to the premises is locked. I was waiting on hold to the number in the email for several minutes before I got lucky and slipped in behind somebody coming out. Once inside the receptionist tells me I should have knocked on the glass. Not sure how I was supposed to know this.

Very good experience using Doctapp
Very good experience using the Doctapp service for the issue of a Sporting Medical Certificate. Customer service was responsive and helpful via email and the overall process was smooth and easy. Documents I needed were available immediately. Consultation at Wimpole Street convenient. I would use it again in the future.

Terrible
Changed my appointment time/location without notifying me on the phone & then did not do the right thing & re-arrange to a time convenient
Original appointment was changed for a poor reason
as well (feels like they didn't have many appointments in the location so moved the nurse somewhere else despite my appointment being confirmed)
Wasted time & now have to wait days for refund

A member of our support team tried to call you to reschedule your appointment but was unable to get through. We later left you an email to notify you of the change and requested that you contact us to reschedule your appointment to a time/place that suited you.
I can assure you that we would not cancel our sessions unless we have no other option, unfortunately in this case the Health Care assistant had to cancel due to illness.
We understand the inconvenience this may have caused you and therefore refunded your appointment in full.
