I booked an STI screen through the website, which offered two clear options: “STI screen” or “individual test.” I selected the screen, expecting it to cover all the relevant sites, as is completely standard. However, when I arrived, I was told it only included testing for one site, and I’d need to pay double the price for a full and proper screen.
I felt completely misled by how this was presented online. When I raised my concerns politely in person, there was no understanding or sympathy - just a blunt response from the management. I left feeling conned and let down.

Thank you for your reply. However, there was nothing transparent about your booking service. It was misleading and I wasn't offered a refund or even any sympathy or resolution beyond publicly claiming to be empathetic on trust pilot, which is disappointing. It's been weeks and I've not heard from your company so I assume there is no intention of actually addressing my complaint, only an intention to publicly claim that you care about it. I look forward to hearing from you via email if you actually want to take my complaint seriously, and I if I haven't heard from you then this is why this complaint will remain on trustpilot.

Sign up easy, making appointment easy. Doctor was very friendly and understanding.
Letter produced and recieved with 15 minutes. I paid only £20 more than my NHS GP practice who offered turnaround time of 10 days.
Would use again in a flash

I had a very unpleasant and unprofessional experience with DocTap today. I booked a 15-minute teleconsultation and logged in early, 5 minutes before the start of the call. I waited but doctor was late. She showed up when there were less than 10 minutes left. When she appeared on the video, I could see she was rushing and frankly looked very unprepared to take the call. I also could not hear a thing she was saying. After a few attempts of her trying to fix the technical issue (my audio/video was working fine), she then abruptly left the call. Not sure what was going on, I emailed DocTap asking to reschedule or delay the call but did not get any response back. I also tried to call them but had to wait quite a long time to get through. Eventually when I got through, the rep told me that the consultation was already over and I had to now book a NEW appointment and pay AGAIN the consultation fee?! When I asked what would happen to the fee I had already paid, she told me to send a separate email for a refund and that I needed to wait until this gets approved? By that time, I was feeling like I was robbed. How do you conduct your business like this? I was feeling quite sick and needed to consult urgently to get some medication prescribed. You did not even bother to follow up with an email. I already requested a full refund but of course, I have not heard anything back. Pls refund soonest since I definitely won't recommend to anyone to use your services. I am so disappointed.

It's just excellent service - I booked on line at 8.15, had a video appointment at 8.45 and my pain relief prescription was available by 9. To be fair to my GP NHS service they phoned me at 12.20 -but I didn't know if they would or if so when! I slipped on Saturday pm and needed painkillers and if I'd had my wits about me I would have contacted Doctap immediately but I just didn't think! The NHS only offer, at weekends, huge undignified waits with miserable pain after you have struggled to get to A&E.

24 April 2025 - I had my smear test appointment booked and completed by Dr Lakshmi Kumar at Canary Wharf. This was my first time having it done outside the NHS and I was pleased I choose to go private this time. Dr Lakshmi Kumar first talked me through the full process (as I explained to her, due to a very bad experience. I stopped having it done for almost 10 yrs) and carried out the procedure very carefully and for the first time I wasn’t left feeling like I would never had this done again. Thank you so much Dr Lakshmi Kumar. I have recommended DocTap to my family and friends as I’ve had nothing short of an exceptional experience attending their Canary Wharf office each time I’ve attended.

Don't waste your money on this company! The Doctor refused to prescribe an ointment which I requested based on the results of my lab even though she initially agreed to offer it. Avoid Dr Achetu Ella, she over complicated the situation by over analysing the results of my nose swab and requesting I contact the lab for more detailed results which clearly the NHS will not do.

Fast and easy!
Was gaslighted for 2 weeks at my GP who refused to give me an appointment for an obvious infection. When the infection spread and again I was refused in an appointment, my husband booked me a 15-min call at DocTap with Dr Ayomide Noah. In the next 15 minutes I was diagnosed and got my prescription right away. No waiting, no headache, no gaslight. Best service, will definitely use again and recommend.

Dr Edwards was thorough, attentive and professional, and issued a referral for a scan. DocTap team were super responsive when the referral letter needed to be amended to provide additional detail. Together, this meant I was able to fill a cancellation, and have the required scan a couple of days after the GP visit.
If ever in need a 2nd opinion, a quicker GP consultation than local practice, or a direct referral, would use again without reservation.

Extremely disorganized if you want them to fill out a simple form for reimbursement for private health insurance.
The Doctor during the appointment said to send the form to support email - which I did - then they claimed that only the doctor could fill it so they suggested that I spend another 60+ GBP just to go back to the doctor (make another appointment) just to get the form filled out! I will now have to fill out a claim with my credit card company.
How silly and honestly a huge waste of time for everyone involved! Will never come back and for anyone who needs any reimbursement forms signed or filled, I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I went to the London Bridge branch and after reading positive reviews I felt assured I would receive a good service.
However, the doctor barely looked at me for the first 30 seconds of the appointment as she asked for my ID and then proceeded to speak at me at a million miles an hour. As someone with health anxiety I found this to be incredibly overwhelming. I had booked the appointment in a panic and when disclosing my anxiety to the doctor to apologise for potentially not needing the appointment she laughed at me.
The other issue I have is that I had selected I was there for a skin condition. All the doctor did was look at my skin, no dermoscopy was used which in my understanding for mole concerns you need to be able to see underneath the skin otherwise there's no point.
I am left wondering what I paid £64 for...
The only positive from my experience was the lovely lady on reception who made me feel very welcome (a big thank you to her!)

I've used DocTap several times over the last few years (both for me and my family/kids), principally where we haven't been able to easily get an appointment with our NHS GP. Highly Recommended. I've been unwell for a few weeks and couldn't get a NHS doctors appointment for 7 days. I was so impressed with Doctor Hawche, I got an appointment within 10 mins, and it cost £60 which I thought was very reasonable. The Doctor was so thorough and helpful, and extremely approachable. I will definitely use this service again, and would ask for the same GP by name, So Impressed.

Over the last couple of years, I've accessed DocTap over the phone and in person and have found their services to be comprehensive and outstanding. The care relayed by the team at the Hammersmith branch has been consistent. I feel listened to, cared for and followed up on promptly where there's been investigations and referrals required. Additionally, a very efficient services with slots running on time, good access to lab testing and imaging services, with prescriptions, consultation notes and referral letters provided promptly.

I am shocked at the quality of service and the incompetence of their staff.
I first went to the Liverpool Street branch for a check-up, since I noticed suspicious looking bumps on my thigh. The initial doctor dismissed them as folliculitis after careful inspection, and told me to return if they change size (this is a medical professional who refers to herself as having a Dermatology "interest" or sub-specialisation).
During this time I went on with my days oblivious to the fact I had an extremely contagious viral infection which I must have picked it up either via close contact with someone who had it at the gym or through sexual intercourse.
I returned to the LS office with another doctor (who again, is said to have an interest in Dermatology!!) only to be diagnosed with MC! And told that a) it's not an STI and b) I should not worry about the possibility of transmitting it via sexual intercourse.
Well guess what Doctor AC: after contacting previous sexual partners I've had between October '23 and January '24, it seems like it actually IS an STI and can transmit to other people fairly easily!
The other aspect to consider is that I am absolutely shocked how the second doctor told me that I should "just leave it alone" and it will clear on its own from my body in up to 2 years (!!!!).
Every single sensible piece of advice I can find points that I should eliminate close physical encounters for the time being, and seek immediate dermatological treatment. Would the good doctor be able to not have sex for 2 years and just wait it out?? Unbelievable.
So basically:
-- Wasted £128 on very, very poor service
-- Could have eradicated it in October if the first doctor would have been qualified to actually diagnose and prevent it from spreading to others and further auto-inoculation.
-- Was given incorrect and potentially hazardous information by the second doctor, before I asked for a recommendation to a Dermatologist to have the issue treated. Like I should have. In October last year!!!!
I will be writing officially to get my money back, and I am still pondering whether I should take legal action against them!
Trust me, the ease of booking doesn't make up for the rushed and poor quality service delivered. Go to a proper doctor!
