Non-existant care factor, non-existant customer service. Seem to be totally disinterested in building customer loyalty.

I would have given no stars if it were an option. Like most people who have rated DJ City on this website, I have had a mystifying experience ordering online with this company. They took my money and then couldn't ship due to a claimed extraordinary demand in their warehouse. I had neglected to check Trust Pilot because I thought a business with six bricks and mortar stores would have to be ok. Silly me....

Once I read the reviews on this site, I tried to contact them to push my order. I rang the 1300 phone number dozens of times over multiple days and never had an answer. I rang every store in Victoria multiple times and never got an answer although I did get the after hours answering machine at Oakleigh around midday one day. I emailed both the sales and support email addresses and did get some sporadic responses telling me that the demand they were experiencing meant that they couldn't tell me when my order would ship. These responses were from three random people who also work in the Victorian stores and I was never able to speak to any of them. I did manage to have someone pick up the phone in the NSW store, but that person couldn't do anything but send an email to the same place that I had.

There was no co-ordination in the responses I received. It was Groundhog day a number of times, where I was told the same thing by different people. Apparently the staffing is such that all the store employees are charged with monitoring the sales and support email boxes. They respond but don't do anything. There is absolutely no customer support workflow in this company.

After 8 days of no indication as to when my order would ship, I notified them by email that I wanted my order cancelled and my money refunded. Again I was told by email that they would do this, but again nothing happened. I then noticed that the status of my order was moved from "Paid Processing" to "On Hold". At this point they could have just cancelled and refunded.

I then started a dispute with my credit card provider and PayPal, and eventually received notification that they had done a PayPal refund. The reason given for the refund was that they didn't have sufficient stock to ship my order. This had NEVER been mentioned at any time, and indeed looking on the DJ City website at the time I received the refund notice, it claims that there are 23 items in stock across their warehouse and physical shops. Someone is telling porkies....

Some other observations include the fact that DJ City has a 5 star review badge on the front page of the website saying that there are 16K certified reviews of the company. That badge is not a hyperlink so the 16K certified reviews are not reachable that way. By googling "DJ City review" you can find a url to reviews are which obviously is hosted by djcity. There are at least 30 very positive reviews there praising the timely delivery of online orders in the same time frame that I placed my order, and where I was being told that they were unable to ship because of huge demand...

Again someone is telling porkies.

There is currently a "special offer" still on the website offering a "free gift" for orders over $300. In my first email to DJ City I questioned why I wasn't offered the opportunity to select a gift as my purchase clearly qualified. I was told that it was a promotion while gift stocks lasted and that they must have just run out. They must have just received more gift stock or...

again someone is telling porkies.

Once I started the dispute with PayPal, I decided to order the kit with StoreDJ. It took two days to have my order processed and delivered.

Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Purchased a Gemini AS-215BLU-LT from…

Purchased a Gemini AS-215BLU-LT from them. Did not last 9 months, contacted for warranty and had to post at my own expense. Coincidence it arrived damaged and they wont touch it. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend purchasing anything from them.

Average service

Good range of products but the main issue is either poor customer service at times (like not answering phone calls or emails) and not receiving order confirmations and/or shipping notices.
I've also heard from friends that there has being delays in shipping and sometjmes it's up to 6 weeks waiting.

Terrible service

Terrible service.
Ordered $1000 speakers, waited 2 and half months no emails or calls from the site.

They still hadn't shipped them out claiming I needed to go check the $ they deposited into my account to make sure the transaction is "legit".
I find that ridiculous as I had spent $1599 on decks at DJ city and they never made me do this.

Currently in a refund war unless they ship my products out.

Absolutely terrible online store…

Absolutely terrible online store management and customer relations. I bought a $420 interface online as it said they had multiple items in stock. After not sending any confirmation email I called up and asked if i could just pick it up in person, they then proceeded to tell me that there wasnt any of this item in the country and that there would be a two month wait. After two weeks waiting for my refund that they illuded to they won't write back to my emails or even answer their call centre phones... unbelievably poor service, borderline scam! I'm still unsure I will even get my money back. I'm sorry to say this but DO NOT SHOP HERE! I will continue to write these reviews until I get my refund.

Dont deal with them unless you enjoy watching your money going MIA

Ordered $700 of gear on the 10/4
Debited from my card on the 14/4
Received an email saying they wont ship it until I see some tiny credit transaction on my card in 1 to 3 business days - its their " security confirmation" - spoke to the bank and they have never heard ANY company doing this
After three emails and 3 business days later ( no mystery transaction )they refused to ship it and there is radio silence . I have reported it to VISA as fraud..waiting for the outcome

Great Experience at Smithfield Store

I've had a great experience with the staff of DJ City's Smithfield store. Though I should note that calling them at all is pointless because they never pickup, I do understand as essentially everytime I have visited the store they have been busy serving other customers.

NON existant customer service.

Ok where do i start this company DJ CITY is the worst of any company going around.DO NOtT
buy a single item off these guys. Their customer service is NON EXISTENT.
They dont answer phones.
They dont Return Emails.
THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY and from that point see you later.
I bought a 12 PA speaker i recieved it 3weeks later with the speaker cone hanging out of it.
The shop changed it over for a new one after taking it home and unpacking screws were missing from the back plate scratches were covered up with black paint yes it was a return .
These sort of company need to go into liquidation as it brings down the reputable companys doing the right thing.
It would be a blessing if all their stores closed and the company was liquidated.
Very Very unhappy customer.

Avoid this Store

Purchased a few items and product wise they were good
Unfortunately the service was terrible and wasn’t able to speak to anyone over the phone as it just continued ringing out. Left a message at the main store and nobody called back.
Send a handful of emails and with finally a reply saying your item has been shipped (over 2 weeks after purchase)
Would not recommend

Avoid at all cost

Ordered a pair of monitor speakers from them. They arrived defect and are extremely noisy. Sent them back. The store claims they "can't hear" the noise and sent them back to me, refusing to replace or fix.
I can now go and find a lawyer or sit on damaged speakers.
There seems to be method in doing this if you read the other review about this store. This is a borderline fraudulent operation that should be shut down by authorities.

DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE WELL BELOW EXPECTATIONS. Bought a product from Dj City and was concerned when I got it that it would not do what I wanted it to do. When I rang you could not get through to technical support - it just records a busy number with no queuing system. Eventually got through to someone instore by selecting a different number. I inquired about what I was trying to use it for and pretty sure the information I was given was wrong. When I asked to return it I was advised that they do not do returns. On top of that, the item was posted in a TAPED GARBAGE BAG!! with no protection.
