Garden Drainage Issue Solved by DIY Gardening
I contacted Daniel Woodley (from DIY Gardening) in September 2022, as we've had issues regarding garden drainage for several years. Previously we had work completed by a local landscape gardening firm who enlarged our soakaway and built new pipework at a cost of £7500, but the work didn't rectify the problem. We consulted Daniel regarding the issue, and he performed four ground percolation tests for us, which revealed that the soil was made from heavy clay and unsuitable for the drainage we had in place. Daniel liaised with the local water company as he was confident they would let us divert some of the water into their drain pipes. After meeting with them at our property to show them the results of the percolcation test, they agreed to let us divert rainwater from our roof gutters into the sewerage pipes. A third party completed the work in October and now in February 2023, it is clear that the work has solved the issue. Despite plenty of rain, our garden is much drier, and there's no standing water down the side of the property. The cost of all the work, including Daniel's fee and the third-party work, is around half of what we paid the previous company, who failed to solve the issue. I only regret not contacting Daniel sooner.
