They were not able to take my call, unless it was to make a payment. Paid for the policy and no card has been delivered to us, they don't answer calls and the website is useless.

THIS COMPANY ISN’T REAL!! I picked it on marketplace coverage . all their in- network are out of date , local dentists say they don’t know why they’re listed as in network. They never answered the phone when I called several times all of January . I switched to anthem for 10 dollars more upon reading other horror stories about dentaquest on Reddit.

I have TennCare DentaQuest and my child has a permanent molar that needs a crown and they're going to deny me and send me two packets of paper that say exactly the same thing not only did you waste paper but you're not helping anybody you're telling me that my child has a baby tooth that needs a crown when in fact it is a permanent tooth and you won't help why do we even have you all I see is a bunch of excuses and all this paperwork here your tooth must have a lot of tooth missing from a cavity or have a lot of damage from being broken and can no longer be fixed with a Feeling it can't be fixed with a feeling that's why we're doing the crown does my child's tooth have to be falling out this is not an adult this is a child we're talking about I'm appalled by your lack of care so far all I see in your brochure or your packet that you sent to me is a bunch of excuses on why you won't help people why do you exist I'll get my child taken care of I don't need your help I hope other people read this review

I have been using this dental insurance for several years.This year I have been disappointed by their service.

I was urgently in need of a root canal for my teeth.But they told me that it is not covered by their insurance. I asked for their advice,could not get.

Denied for a procedure that was medically necessary then had to talk to a judge to appeal I never had any issues with any other insurance they are terrible better off going through another insurance these companies are money hungry and trying to keep money in their pockets they don’t care about people’s health I’m reporting them to the BBB

DentaQuest is entirely ineffective. I used their website to find a prosthodontist in March 2024. That was a waste, so I officially asked for help on May 6, 2024, and called every two to three weeks to follow up. They referred me to one individual who was retired and another who was a regular dentist and could not assist me. It's now October 22, 2024, and they still haven't found anyone. They hung up on me twice today. The third person said there is no time limit on how long they can take to find someone to help me and they will notify me when they find someone. They can take as long as they want. They also refused to escalate my call. So frustrating!

Awful, awful customer service! As someone else said - I would give them a lower than one-star rating if I could.

I have tried several times to get help gaining online access to my account. Twice they have “opened a ticket” and told me I would be sent a resolution or a status update email in 24 to 48 hours… nothing either time. It’s been six weeks since the first “ticket” and four weeks since the second. I have not received any sort of communication at all from them (other than mailed paper invoices for my premiums, of course!)

Now, when I call, I get an automated recording saying “We are experiencing unusually high call volumes. Please call back at a later time”, then they hang up. I have tried calling at various times during business hours on multiple days and have even tried getting someone in another department, but receive the same message and disconnect every time. Maybe their systems are so bad that many people are experiencing the same issues as I and they indeed are being besieged with calls and cannot handle them all - who knows.

It’s not hyperbole to say they are literally impossible to reach!

Wow called Dental Quest to schedule and appointment only to wait 45 minutes then they hang up your call to avoid speaking to people I could only imagine how many times they done this procedure to people to avoid doing their jobs.

I’d give them lower score if I could I choose them as my insurance and got locked out of there website emailed them called them sat in hold for hours spent over a week trying to contact them to pay my premiums. I gave up getting different company. The marketplace needs to remove them completely and not offer this insurance

I would 100% like to commend a customer service employee named (I may not spell correct) Kadeesa H. I was quite traumatized today from being told by my new dentist, after just getting all my teeth removed last wk that I was denied dentures. Traumatized!! She was beyond compassionate, so understanding, unbelievable. Just cannot explain in words how much she went above and beyond. Stuck w me thru over hour to address my problem, from calling my dentist, trying to communicate thru many avenues to solve my difficult claim issues. Just outstanding. I have now been on hold for over almost 2 hours. I have not been able to use this insurance because no dentist in my area accepts it. They lie about which dentist accept their insurance. There is no help yet they have taken my money. I want my money back, they are useless! Please save yourself the trouble, this is not a legitimate company that cares about their customers/subscribers. RUN

Needed an emergency extraction of a split tooth. The pain was excruciating!

I was told a few days earlier that surgery couldn't be performed if there was heavy infection with severe swelling so I reduced the swelling using an oral rinse, brushing, disinfectant, cold fluids & gum massage. I was in the chair ready to be sedated when the doctor said DentaQuest wouldn't pay for the tooth removal. I asked why? He stated because the gum looks almost normal so it doesn't meet their criteria for an emergency extraction. I confirmed with him that if I had come in while the gum was massively swollen with bleeding discharge, my insurance would have paid for this procedure? Correct.

What in the world???

I had to wait several more days in excruciating pain, couldn't eat or sleep normally, missed another doctor appointment, lost several pounds, canceled my birthday events, lost work time & had to take so much pain medication my ears were ringing.

DentaQuest should be forced out of business for endangering the lives of their clients.

UPDATE: The tooth was removed a week later but it was too late. The infection spread to my bloodstream & caused an infection in my left armpit area resulting in substantial inflammation, pain, bulging veins, micro clots and temporary loss of the entire arm (thought it was a stroke at first). Took antibiotics for several days & the the arm is back to normal now.

Two takaways from this experience:

1. I changed dental insurance providers.

2. I learned NOT fool around with tooth infections. Get the infected tooth out of your system as soon as possible!

They do not answer their phone lines! In the last week I have twice sat for over 1-1/2 HOURS before giving up!!! They have been like this for YEARS! I am not going to renew - they are WAAAAY too much trouble to get in touch with to get issues addressed. Their website is as bad as their non-existent phone reps! Get your dental insurance from some OTHER company!

I’m writing this as a PROVIDER; EVER SINCE SUNLIFE BOUGHT DENTAQUEST; THEIR PORTAL IS HORRIBLE TO OPERATE, THEY DENY PROCEDURES THAT ARE MEDICALLY NECESSARY FOR PATIENTS, CHANGE THEIR RULES WITHOUT LETTING PROVIDER KNOW (IE YOU CANT PLACE IMPLANT ABUTMENT SAME DAY AS PLACEMENT) THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE LIES TO THE PATIENTS AND BLAMES US, SAYING WE DONT SEND INFO WHEN WE DO. THEY ARE HORRIBLE NOW!!!!! THEY APPROVE WORK THEN DENY IT WHEN MORE INFO IS SENT FOR OTHER WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. UNACCEPTABLE!!! You guys will be losing a lot of in network dentists unless you get it together. Bring back the old portal and rules from the start of this year. That’s all.

I previewed my dentist on their site before I switched to this dental company just to make sure they covered my dentist which their website said they did. It has now taken four months 38 dentist and nine cities and they still cannot find a dentist for me.

I have personally called Dentaquest probably six times I have gone through my insurance company and they have got Dentaquest on the phone so three of us can have a conference call. I have called Medicare twice to file a complaint against them and finally today beginning of month number four they are telling me to go to the original dentist that is denied me on three other occasions. lol what a joke

Horrible customer service. I have been locked out of my online portal twice, called in to see why and was hung up on three times. Called back and finally got a live person. Had to re-sign up and I am locked out of the online portal again! Called back two times and the line disconnects when I get to a certain point!! Horrible!

Horrible customer service, Took over 2 months for them to reactivate my plan after their sub-par website won’t allow you to login, or even reset password after copying and pasting temporary passwords they send through email, get on the phone and the only thing they tell you to do is to send a check to pay for upcoming months in advance to resume coverage, mail them the check, have to personally reach out again for them to credit the check that was pulled from my account a month prior. For them to make you go through the process again. Without any assistance to get online login working, or being able to see SOB and any claims charged to my plan. Worst insurance I’ve ever had. AVOID AT ALL COST, You’re better off paying out of pocket or hopping on the government welfare train before willingly paying for coverage that you won’t receive.

Total SCAM!
In the big print they cover "crowns". In the small print coverage is "0%". Very misleading and an outright "lie"!

Just got charged 50 pounds for being ill and cancelled hygienist for tomorrow because I cancelled the plan a cancellation fee ??
Already paid 75 pounds for yesterday appointment appointment was for 10 am had to wait half a hour for appointment

DentaTrust Dental Insurance collected payments for a year and refused to settle my dental claims. They asked me to send a claim, which I did, but they claimed they never received it. After so many calls to the support number, which never resulted in speaking with anyone, I gave up and changed my insurance for 2024.

Companies should not be allowed to operate like this.
