43% policy increase for renewal!! This was for a 18 month old lab with no claims . Call CO OP and given no reason advised if not happy just cancel . We did then started another policy with them at £8 per month less with same cover . Just can’t understand why they work like this such a waste of time

Easy to apply and cheap for all the choices.

I had a genuinely frustrating experience dealing with Co-op Insurance.

After missing a single payment — despite having a history of paying on the account — I was issued with a default. That level of action over one missed payment is, in my view, completely excessive and disproportionate. These things happen for a variety of reasons, and a more balanced approach would be expected.

What made the situation worse was the customer service. The representative I dealt with, Brooke, came across as unhelpful and entirely lacking empathy. There was no attempt to understand the context or offer any reasonable resolution — just a rigid, scripted response with no flexibility.

I made it clear that I had the funds available and that this was simply an oversight, yet there was no willingness to take that into account.

Overall, very disappointing. Poor handling of a straightforward situation and customer service that felt indifferent at best.

This morning I rang CoOp travel insurance to update some health conditions before an upcoming holiday.
The phone was answered promptly and politely.
I was having a professional friendly chat that put me at ease, no hurry. He was able to discuss and explore my options with no pressure to upgrade my policy.
My advisor was Marc from the Cardiff office, he was so calming and supportive I was compelled to leave feedback! Amazing, thank you Marc.

Very helpful, polite and patient customer advisor who was happy to repeat anything or speak slower. Best experience having to discuss/purchase something - which is seldom.

It was easy to navigate the site. The policy covered my needs and the cost of the policy was less than half what I was previously paying with another company.

The Customer Service adviser was extremely thorough and made me feel very confident that my Insurance request was being handled competently.

Contacting Coop Essentials by phone with a simple enquiry is infuriating, time consuming and clunky. The options reject your answers, send you round in circles and test your patience to the max..
On the other hand their prices are competitive. Well, for the first year anyway.
Making a claim ? No idea. I hope I never have to test that out.

Easy no fuss simply explained

Possibly the most unhelpful customer service ever, AI system is a joke, just sends you round and round in circles. This is even before you even get a quote, I wouldn't bother they are rude and unhelpful. One to avoide here I think.

Stay away from this company. I was in Egypt in December and still no one wants to pay for medical services, and in the end they even made me feel guilty. It's terrible. In Egypt, I had a slight allergy to midge bites and I went to a clinic and received help, and now this shitty company says that I am not eligible to get paid because I did not tell them that I sometimes take omeprazole (for heartburn) and co-codamol (sometimes I get leg pain from age and hard work), but they told me that if I take medication even for a headache, they cannot insure me. I think this is just idiotic, AVOID.

I took out Travel Insurance with Co Op Insurance .I was diagnosed with a serious illness and had to cancel my holiday I made a claim on my ravel policy and Co Op refused to pay out, they never do, stay away.

As a side Co Op have done their level best to try and stop me posting this review including putting pressure on me and Trust pilot!

Emma was very helpful and gave options to choose from. She provided clear explanation when the policy wording was using specialist language.
She displayed a very pleasant manner, always looking for the customer's best interest and preferences.
I was happy with the service provided and the consequent outcome.
