Excellent experience at Cinch Derby

We recently bought our first EV from Cinch Derby and had a fantastic experience from start to finish.

George Mitchell was brilliant. His no-pressure approach made the whole process really easy and relaxed, and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout. The fact that they were able to get the car prepared and ready for us the same day was also fantastic.

Ian Neal was equally excellent. He was the first person to greet us when we arrived and was very welcoming and helpful. He even stayed after his shift had finished to complete the handover, taking the time to explain everything we needed to know to get us on the road with our first EV.

Both George and Ian were incredibly accommodating, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. They made what could have been a daunting experience switching to an electric car feel straightforward and enjoyable.

A big thank you to both of them — they are a real credit to Cinch Derby. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my first time buying a car on the internet without viewing.

The first car I saw on Cinch Derby, a was a similar spec and year and £2k cheaper than my purchased car.. bargain .. and the ladies at Cinch Derby, Sophie & Paige were upfront about the previous car having chips etc etc

The car I bought came up on my search .. Fiat 500e Cabrio .. it was £2k more .. Sophie checked the car, low mileage, perfect paintwork and interior perfect, so I bought it.

And it is perfect. Jay, who delivered it from Bristol was 10/10 too.

I have 14 days to decide whether to keep it but I told Jay straight away I was keeping it. It looks brand new

And .. there is a conversation that cars are more expensive in Cornwall but the Derby price was the same price for me.. just the addition of delivery

I also added extra paintwork protection & interior plus car scratch & dent plus extended warranty for the car.

I originally gave Cinch a glowing review because the sales experience was excellent — everything was smooth, clear and well organised. However, once the car was paid for, things have unfortunately deteriorated.

Cinch told me they would contact DVLA to correct the colour on the logbook, as the car is grey but DVLA still showed it as orange. This never happened, and I ended up having to send the logbook away myself to get it sorted.

I also still haven’t received any proof of service, even though the Cinch website shows the car was serviced at 6,381 miles (Arnold Clark) and again at 10,652 miles. Nothing has been provided to back this up.

On top of that, I emailed about a stain on the front seat which the delivery driver said she had noted, but I’ve had no response at all.

The buying process was great, but the after‑sales support has been disappointing. I’m now waiting for Cinch to provide the service documentation and respond to the issue with the seat.
Well cinch replied 😞 Thanks for the reply, but it’s disappointing to get a generic pasted message instead of an actual update. It really shows how poor the after‑care is once the car is paid for. I’ve raised several issues — the colour not being corrected, no proof of service, and no response about the stain on the front seat — and none of them have been dealt with. I’d appreciate a proper response to the points I’ve raised, not a template message.

The staff here are amazing! Ian Neal & Tilly Miller in particular made us feel so welcome and felt no pressure to buy anything but walked away with a car and was more than satisfied.
The process of paying etc is unbelievably easy.

Great communication from Joseph Alldread who answered all my queries prior to purchasing the car. Delivery driver was within delivery time frame and went over everything I needed to know. Car seems to be driving well and was immaculate inside and out; overall a very positive experience buying from Cinch.

Bought an Astra EV w/ part ex. Delivered by Kamran who was very professional, he kept us updated on its arrival and explained the exchange process clearly. Upon arrival he explained in detail all of the features of the new car to my partner, in addition to fully answering her questions. Part exchange was straight forward with no hiccups. Positive stress free experience overall.

The sales advisor Rosie Bakewell was fantastic. She helped me choose the right car for me after discussion a few options. Also she explained in detail how Cinch worked, that really put me at ease when buying the car.

The delivery was also seamless.

I had a great experience with Cinch. Customer service was excellent, my car was delivered and my old one taken away - no hassle or quibbles, just a lovely, helpful delivery lady.
I'm very happy with my new car. As someone who would not have traditionally bought a car online I would certainly use Cinch again and have recommended to others.

The lady ( Mia) was very pleasant & extremely helpful. She explained all the extras I could but aswell. I had the body coating protection & a 2 year warranty. It was lovely to deal with someone so nice

We will definitely be using cinch again very good service and kept informed every step of the buying process.

Unfortunately, the car itself let the experience down. It hadn’t been cleaned since we’d viewed it, and the light scratches we’d been told would be polished out hadn’t been touched. On top of that, the car’s app still shows the previous owner’s account, so I can’t use it.

When I raised this afterwards and suggested the PDI (pre-delivery inspection) should catch these things before collection, I was told to “take it up with Jaguar” — which felt like a real brush-off given I bought the car from Cinch, not directly from Jaguar.

Great sales experience, but the prep and after-sales response need work.
