I recently purchased my 5th and 6th Cicerone guides to plan a walking holiday in the Balkans. Each trip for the last decade has been guided in some part by one of these excellent little blue volumes. Authoritative, clear maps and concise introductions to the geography, conditions, history and flora and fauna make them a joy to read and use. I wouldn't go anywhere without one.
