Would give a zero if possible. They use a contract service for delivery- after waiting over 1.5 hours for food the driver just cancelled our order. Customer service was absolutely no help.

Just want to order food and need to use…

Just want to order food and need to use ChowNow. Fine. But, I need a verification code to log in. Fine again. I'll wait...and wait...and wait. Nothing! Ugh, I'll request a new code and then request another. Twenty minutes later and cannot place an order. Nothing in my inbox or any spam folders. This is a terrible, bush-league service that has no business being in the online business. If I could leave a worse rating, then I would. Any restaurant partnering with them will lose business.

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service. Put in an order for our team at work, reached out when the order was 15 minutes late to find out that apparently the restaurant was closed as they had never acknowledged the order.....Restaurant being closed not their fault of course but to not follow up with the customer that the order wasn't acknowledged shows a true lack of caring for the customer

Chow now cannot be trusted

Chow now cannot be trusted to provide consistent delivery service. They use random drivers they know nothing about. If a driver decides they don’t feel like making a delivery or just wants the food they are tasked with delivering, they simply keep it. They have already been paid and have your tip. They claim they delivered and it is their word against the customer. I’ll never use them again

I ordered through the restaurant…

I ordered through the restaurant website I was charged an outrageous delivery fee for a delivery less than 2 miles away from my job I left specific notes to have the delivery driver text me when he was at my place of work. I waited 45 minutes for the delivery driver so when I called about not receiving my order they proceeded to tell me my lunch was returned to the restaurant. I never received a text I explained they asked if I wanted it redelivered by a different driver I said no I wasted my whole lunch waiting for my delivery and it never came so I asked them for a refund and now I’m jumping through hoops for that. It should not be my problem when the delivery driver never let me know my food was here just a text from chow now telling me my food was on its way

Their website is broken

Their website is broken. Their website requires you make an account, add your name, and add phone number before you can order food. I tried to order food 5 times from their site. I got gridlocked with them demanding my information. I would input my information and save, but it never went through. Support was useless. They told me to download their app or make a new account. I'm not doing additional work to get around their broken website. Luckily I went around them and used yelp instead.

This app is terrible

This app is terrible. The restaurant couldn’t find my order. This isn’t a seamless process. Lesson learned. Just call the restaurant directly and CUT these guys out.

abysmal

I almost always pick up my food b/c of the terrible service for delivery companies, but I was busy so I decided to have my food delivered through ChowNow. It never arrived. The restaurant said it had been delivered. I called ChowNow who put me on hold for 15 minutes trying to contact the "Uber Driver" who never delivered my food. They never got in touch with the Uber Driver, so they refunded the charges. However it was pain to wait an hour for food that never arrived and then on hold on the phone. And then I had to order food at a different restaurant and pick it up. I cancelled my evening plans because of it. I should have known better.

FAIL. Just call your order in.

Lets you go all the way through, including entering payment info and then will not confirm the order. Every Time. After several tries on different dates... I quit using the online order. I call in. What a pain in the a$$.

This is a garbage app

This is a garbage app. My food was never delivered. I could not talk to a human being. I got multiple automated responses to emails or texts. Stay away they are thieves.

Charged me.

Charged me.. Never got food... Charged me twice... Never got food.. Even tried to pick it up... Could not...this is a Bull**** ap... Thank you, it was my Birthday !!! Deleteing ap now

Incompetent Uber driver

What went wrong I order food Uber driver picks it up confirms through chow now that after my order is canceled that it was due to the Uber drivers mistake by dialing wrong number. I get well we will refund you in 3 to 5 days what what about tonight as I don't have tons of money and my family is sitting here waiting. Mind you were in the middle of moving so everything is packed up. Absolutely horrible then the text cistownr service person just says well have a good night hanging up now bye. What r u kidding me...

Restauranteurs: Stay Away. Absolutely Terrible. Good Luck Trying to Cancel

this may be long. tl;dr: good luck trying to cancel. they require an "exit interview" and it may take months to get that. Record every phone call (legally) you have with them. Video record yourself returning their materials. SAVE the Tracking ID when you do ship their stuff back. They are shady and NOT to be trusted.

So, where do we begin? One of our co-owners recommended them. Said they'd be better than any of the other big three in our area: DoorDash (DD), GrubHub (GH) or UberEats (UE). Fine. After a few weeks, hardly any orders. I looked at the app, and there were hardly any restaurants in our area on the platform. Mainly pizza places. So we ordered UberEats as a delivery service. Boom! from the beginning they slapped. After one month w UE and 3 with ChowNow (CN), UE was pulling in 4x sales what Chownow was. So we call to cancel. . .

Sorry. One year contract on all of our locations with ChowNow. So $1,200 to cancel early (per location). .. we paid $1,600 per location to have this service for a year. We argued, they didn't budge. Fine. . . half our locations just unplugged their tablets and put them away. FINALLY Oct 2020, our one year is up, we call to cancel.

They then say we have to have an exit interview. We have to have a call with someone before they let us go. . . Unbelievable. So, we schedule online call w their person. I will admit, I forgot about it and didn't log in. So I message the guy, he is on vacation for weeks, so nothing til then. Grrrr. . . cannot believe there is only ONE person to do this. Fine, we reschedule. A few days before, he says he can't make the call. . . Whatever, fine, I missed first call. We reschedule for 3rd attempt. . . FINALLY date comes, we finally get to LEAVE CHOWNOW. . .

Nope. I login, he does not. He's a no-show.

So finally I email the gentleman, just begging, please, please, just let us go. . . ? please? . . . maybe? is there a fee to be let go? . . . our one year contract is up . . . maybe they need to report numbers of restaurants signed up??

He finally acquiesces and says he'll let us go w/o an exit interview (holy sweet baby Jesus, what a pain this all is). . . he follows through and mails us a box and shipping label.

But still, we DO NOT TRUST these people, and it turns out rightfully so.

We video record ourselves at the Fedex Office store, putting all of the tablets and printers and cables one-by-one, into a box, taping the box up (all with the help of one of the FedexOffice employees), and place the shipping label on and video record the employee accepting the package. She gives us the tracking number.

FINALLY! DONE!!

Nope. . .

It's Dec 2020 by now, and of course one of our locations is still being billed monthly for ChowNow. . . I call. They said they'll take care of it. Jan 2021. Guess what? Billed AGAIN at that same, one location. We call, they say it's because we didn't cancel that one location.

WE NEED TO HAVE EXIT INTERVIEW BEFORE THEY CAN CANCEL THAT SPECIFIC LOCATION . . .

at this point we have no tablets, printers, cables, NOTHING. No idea why they need that exit interview again. I point all of this out, that we shipped everything. They ask for the tracking number. I provide it and show it arrived at their warehouse in December. I even explain we have video evidence that everything shipped. (Thank god) . . after a long hold woman returns and says, OK, yes, we do have all of your equipment (at this point I'm recording every call with them, fortunately, our state is a single-party phone call recording state). And they'll take care of it. No exit interview required.

finally, Feb 2021, it's first time, no charge from them. . . it only took us 16 months to be rid of this evil.

Just stay away. Record and save all interactions. Save your tracking number, you may need it months later, like we did. And it may be different in other parts of USA, but in our area, no one knows ChowNow compared to the other three, so I'm pretty sure we lost money on the $1,600/year fee compared to the 25% fee we pay to the other delivery platforms.
