This company is incredibly inept. They've started email spamming me about completing a non-existent background check (no recent changes in employment, applications etc.) and after multiple attempts to get them to correct their records, I finally had to block them. Customer service is either non-existent/automation-only, filled with imbeciles, or actively malicious.

It cost too much for a personal check on oneself

i need a job , i have waited very very along time for my background check from you , i have payed $65 for you and nobody care about my case too ! 😢

Thank you to Check for completing my background check so quickly after I raised my complaint.

the training video was very helpful,however there are some minor glitches that slowed me down but I worked it out.

9Because of Checkr my Lyft driver account suspended.No one to talk or communication just Ai.But not working.I lost my wages .I hate both Lyft and Checkr.
I already have my clean background check document for Uber.Still Lyft suspended my account.When you lost your job how do you pay the bills.Who cares right?

One star. Checkr flags people for things completely out of their control. If someone says they don’t want to work anymore, it’s because of false liability fears from companies and people hiding their own pasts instead of reconciling in Jesus. There are no redeemable qualities in companies or people who use lifetime registration as an excuse not to hire. You’re corrupt, you hide your own childhoods and sins behind scapegoats who have already been redeemed, then refuse to change or let people work. Shame on you.

I haven't been able to drive for Lyft all year because these idiots told them to put my account on hold for an invalid license. Only my CDL is invalid because I don't drive trucks, my personal license is valid with no restrictions! I guess these idiots think im picking up people at the airport for Lyft in an 18 wheeler!!!! Getting ahold of somebody from customer service that you can actually understand what they are saying is harder than pulling teeth!!!!

Dealing with Checkr has been a nightmare. They won't talk to you on the phone. Everything must be done by email.

They don't explain how the process works and emails requesting clarification make things worse. They were late in providing the service and I got contradictory information about whether they needed more information from the caretaker I asked them to run a check on.

The biggest problem, of many, is that I got back a report that had a variety of categories/searches that said "complete." There was no additional information. When I asked if that meant the search was finished and no derogatory information was found, they told me "no." Huh? They said "complete" simply means the process is done. I explained that the "check" is of no value if they don't tell me the results.

When I emailed asking to speak with a supervisor, they asked me to explain the problem -- ignoring the email chain that did just that.

Would never use them again.

Update: Note Checkr's reply to me: "Complete" means the process is done but has nothing to do with the background findings. Yes, I get that now. But when I asked for the findings (was any problematic information found on the caretaker who is living with my parents?) I did not get a clear answer like: "No derogatory information was found" or "Some derogatory information was found and we will send that to you." Without that, the background check is worthless.

Also, Checkr said they would send me a private message through Trustpilot to discuss my issue. I've checked, no message from Checkr.

4/15/26: A rep from Checkr did call and essentially acknowledged the Checkr failings that led to my frustrations and review, above. He promised to look into the problems. The long and short of it is that Checkr is not conveniently (or even competently) usable for an individual who wants to run a background check for a caretaker who will work in their home. It may work for large employees, but not individuals.

This is a scam website. It says it takes 3-5 business days. That’s a lie. We’re going on almost a month now and the date just keeps changing. Still no results and customer service is a joke they don’t help out at all. They don’t offer refunds. We still don’t have our background check and still date just keeps changing. So don’t waste your time with them or your money.

Their check was totally inaccurate and listed several states I've never visited, let alone lived and when I tried to get a refund, they used AI to respond. They kept saying they weren't responsible for employer hiring practices when I was talking about their processes. Contacted an attorney.

The estimated they keep changing for remote background check is going to be completed it's taking longer and longer it was only supposed to take three days he's been 10 now and I still have four more days to wait you guys said

Im out of work because I have a paper temporary ID and I had been working the last 2 years. You should be able to verify someone's identity in this situation
