Casa Castagni Anmeldelser 

I stayed at Casa Castagni with my husband last summer and we absolutely loved it. It’s a beautiful renovated old farmhouse that is old-school Umbrian charm personified.
The bedrooms are cool and spacious with comfy beds. I loved the big kitchen for preparing food in and we enjoyed sinking wine in the back garden among the olive trees as the sun set!
The surrounding countryside is stunning and the village of Castiglione del Lago is just lovely - great shops for local fresh produce and very friendly locals - and the nearby Lake Trasimeno is perfect for swimming and lounging all day at.
A car to get about in is essential but other than that you’ll have all you need here. We left feeling completely recharged, relaxed and are definitely going to be staying again.

I visited Casa Castagni in July 2018 and had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and cool inside, and has everything one needs, plus a lovely garden at the back with olive trees. There is a selection of shops nearby including an excellent butcher’s. All the nearby towns are within easy reach, and Florence and Siena are about an hour away by train. Cortona is a wonderful medieval town that has a lot to offer, including outdoor concerts and delicious ice cream! Whether you want to cool off in the lake or tour vineyards, visit places of interest or simply go for a drive across Tuscany, Casa Castagni is the place to stay.

This roomy, attractive house is perfect for a family or group of friends. The house has ancient charm but all modern features and comforts. The nearby town of Castiglione del Lago offers plenty of attractive shops, cafes and restaurants. Boat trips on the spectacular lake take you to fascinating islands. Many lovely towns such as Cortona, Montepulciano, Assisi, and the city of Perugia are within easy reach.

A lovely house within easy reach of Perugia, Cortona, Montepulciano and the whole of southern Tuscany. The neighbours are really friendly, but you can equally just stock up at the excellent supermarket in town and spend your time chilling in the private garden.

This charming home located in the Umbrian countryside is a real gem. The accommodation is just perfect. So tranquil, you will start to relax from the moment you arrive.
The beautiful hillside town of Castiglione Del Lago, ringed within medieval walls, looking out over Lake Trasimeno is only a 10 minute drive from the house. The lake is just lovely for a dip. I would recommend Bar Darsena down by the lake for a sundowner.
The stunning Tuscan hillside towns of Montepulciano & Cortona are only 30 minutes away by car. Both are just too beautiful for words. Grab a wine or a cocktail and just sit in the square and soak up the atmosphere. The wonderfully elegant belle epoque Cafe Poliziano in Montepulciano has a panoramic terrace looking out over the Tuscan countryside. Not to be missed!
Along with the fine wines, delicious food and scrummy gelatos - you will not want to leave this most beautiful part of Italy.

I’ve visited Casa Castagni twice. This little village is the very place to go to experience total Umbrian quietness. You can hardly come closer to the local rural atmosphere than this. The carefully restored house provides what you need for a splendid vacancy surrounded by old culture. Nice neighbours are still working in the agriculture locally. Within a short radius you will find not one, but many of Italy´s most famous hill towns. It’s a short distance even to Lago Trasimeno for a swim. I will certainly try to go there again for a third visit.

A lovely place to stay in a wonderful part of the world. The village of Piana is very peaceful but the nearby town of Castiglione del Lago is much more lively. There are loads of places to visit nearby and in the evenings in summer we particularly enjoyed the local Festas. My favourite place to visit is Montepulciano, about 30 minutes away.
