Terrible customer service , don’t know what they playing at this time

None existent even , trying to cancel subscription , I’d used a throw away email so I wouldn’t self sabotage, I’ve done this a few times with them without issue before , they did last time by payment method confirmation , but now they are just being annoying , they’ve left me waiting over a week now and turns out took a payment yesterday so will have to speak to the bank and blacklist them which is shame because id know doubt will wish to use them again in the future

But after this ? No chance

And like others have said , the internet is really slow but the main point is their total ignorance and lack of care

They’ve now been blacklisted and being reported to trading standards or where ever I’m able , the last payment they took was the 18th April

I emailed them nearly two weeks ago to have this resolved , the last response I got was Sunday 19th of April saying about email but I’d kindly explained that just as before I’d used a throw away email so that I wouldn’t be able to take canopy off my phone (gambling) , they ironically made that response AFTER taking a payment after a week of waiting

Be great if trust pilot allowed screen shots !

it’s like they being this stupid and arrogant they don’t believe me , all they have to do is find out old emails when they last did this, I still have them !

Worst app ever. Not only did it start acting up yesterday, but now I can't use the internet, other websites, or apps, and there's no way to uninstall it because it makes the process difficult. Stay away from this app.

Destroyed my phone and customer service won't reply, but they will certainly take all your money.

This app is basically a wolf in sheep’s clothing. While I thought it was working the whole time it was not. There were loop holes and then just basic stuff it didn’t block even though I had the settings set correctly. When as a parent you trust an app to do what it says and put that trust in it for your kids and it fails it’s heartbreaking. When you thought there was victory in an area and thought the app was doing what it said then find out your kiddo has been struggling and comes to you crying about messing up, you feel defeated as a parent. This app should NOT be sold or used by any parent who cares about their kid having real victory. If I could give this app 0 starts I would. Horrible l.

This is a great app. I've had it for a few years now, and it's the most effective app for blocking objectionable sites. I've tried most of them, and after trying this one, I signed up for the year-long subscription. And - their tech support is superior - always willing to help.

Didn't do anything the app promised too.

I asked Canopy to block social media apps. It didn't block any. I asked to block suggestive content and it blocked zero images or videos, showing plenty of suggestive and even explicit results. Ironically it blocked other website that I didn't ask to.

I contacted costumer support twice but no one replied.

I was very excited for this product, as I wanted to install it for my kids computer.

I hope costumer service will reply to me soon and fix issues. But after seeing the other reviews I will probably find another solution and cancel my trial.

I really hope they succeed in making their service good, but they need to hire a better tech and support team.

If you download it, it will be impossible to remove and your Internet speed will essentially disappear. Do not do it at any cost. I was looking for software to do this sort of thing and it looks very professional and it would’ve been fine but the Internet speed is just not acceptable and there is no way to get rid of it on your laptop if you have the Uninstall protection.
Edit: If you call support there is no answer or callback, no online instructions for uninstall.

When Canopy is enabled it effectively blocks porn websites.
But the internet gets pretty slow, and some images that have nothing to do with inappropriate contents don't load anymore. To make matters worse, softwares on PC, and applications on mobile phone cease to function properly.

That is too bad, it gave me a very good first impression. But i have no other choice than uninstalling it.

Canopy is the only content filter that has truly worked for me, and I’ve spent a lot of time setting it up to help me stay focused and safe online. However, the app has a serious flaw: it slows down internet performance dramatically.

I contacted support and spent over an hour running speed tests and preparing screenshots across different scenarios, as they asked. After sending everything in, they never responded again. I followed up three times over two weeks and still got no reponse.

I really want to keep using Canopy, but if the developers can’t even reply to a paying customer who did everything they asked, that’s unacceptable. I’m writing this review not out of spite, but because I believe others should be aware of this. If you rely on this app and something breaks, you might be on your own.

We were excited to assume we found a great parent control app for our family. The functions of this app would be great if they worked consistently and as advertised.
The filter essentially blocked most searches the kids were expected to utilize for school homework (did not allow even youth/kids based sites). The app did not function remotely to update or adjust settings... for some devices, we had to have the control app right next to protected device to pause protection or make setting adjustments.
The latest issue is a problem with an update for Mac, which locked us out of multiple devices that were protected by the app (errors in the apps ability to work with internet). Our work and student devices were out of use for several days with no solutions. We were told to wait for the update. We now also cannot uninstall the app and are forced to wait on additional updates.
The app in itself is slow to respond.
Would NOT recommend.

Canopy has the worst customer service. There is this one guy in particular his name is Calvin or something very rude and will not help. When you email them you never get a response and it is always not working there is always a problem. The only good employee is a guy named Ty he will go above and beyond but you can never get him. And doesn’t seem like there is any manager cause when I asked for one no one e dr called! They r horrible stay away!

went for a trial, did the software; it slowed down my internet from 300 Mb/s to 45 Mb/s. rendered sites on Firefox and Edge inaccessible (no proxy server). Tried to cancel trial. Could not contact support. No phone support. Tried 4 calls. Finally, after asking ChatGPT, found out how to uninstall the software. By the way did not do a complete job of blocking bad searches.

Canopy.us has a difficult job trying to censor the internet for bad imagery across multiple platforms. The product works on all devices and it is difficult to get past their VPN. The product works best on iOS in my experience.

Good performance on the mac requires blocking several major browsers and like windows it requires customised blocking rules. It seems no family safety product is able to consistently block youtube.

Removing canopy isn't possible on iOS and mac without parental permissions so if you're looking for a good solution for iOS I'd recommend it. I haven't tried it on Android so cannot comment on its performance there.

Canopy could greatly improve their product offering if they had a webform for submitting sites to add to their in-house blocklists and for submitting bug reports. Relying on email for this functionality is person-centred, but doesn't necessarily result in accurate bug-tracking and monitoring of problem resolution.

I am a subscribed user of Canopy and truly appreciate the vision and utility your software offers in promoting safe and responsible internet usage. However, I would like to bring to your attention a significant concern that I have encountered while using the app on my Android device.

While Canopy effectively blocks adult content on the primary user account, I noticed that if someone adds a guest or secondary user account on the same phone, they are able to access pornographic sites and adult content without restriction. This loophole undermines the core purpose of the software and may expose users—especially children or individuals trying to avoid such content—to inappropriate material.

I believe this is a critical issue that deserves attention, and I hope the development team can address this vulnerability in a future update. Ensuring that content restrictions apply across all user accounts on a device would greatly enhance the effectiveness and reliability of Canopy’s protection.

It wouldn't install on my laptop, so asked customer service, who told me I needed to uninstall a VPN and an antivirus if I wanted it to work, even though I didn't need to do that on my smartphone. Spent more than one hour to be told I needed to uninstall programs from my laptop. Very disappointing.

Imagine in 2024 in the age of AI a parental control software that doesn’t have a keyword blocking feature LOL. So embarrassing. Look somewhere else guys.

Best at filtering content you should not watch.

I will not be satisfied until all of my personally identifiable information is deleted from their servers. I don't care that they want me to provide them with more my personally identifiable information so they can do it. The account that was created for your service was done by someone else using my email without my permission. Their support staff fail to understand that this is non-consensual. They also don't care that I have explained the 7 years of stalking and harassment that was followed up with this unauthorized account. This is someone else's privacy and security they are f***ing with, and it is very much not appreciated.

told them to cancel, kept billing me, service never did work. billed me two more months. cost me 20$ for something I never used nor worked. CROOKS

I didn't want to write this review, but canopy are really taking their time to get back to me, I'm really fed up, understandable Canopy is also a VPN with that one should expect slower speeds, one should not however expect speeds reduced by 90% is it just because I'm not situated in the US? I don't know TBH but regardless this needs to be resolved, surely I'm not the only one who's having this problem, the sad part is that this app works, it does for the most part the job it's supposed to, but what's the point if I then can't even use my devices because of the speed I get online, heck even as a gamer this is really disappointing.
