From flawless booking and incredibly friendly staff to a pristine, reliable vehicle, everything was perfect. Driving through Nova Scotia in their camper was pure joy.

Tiago at the Halifax location checked me in, reviewed the operations of the Unit (sleeps 6), and perfomed a detailed inspection prior to the 3 weeks of travel @ PEI.
The RV was spotless, & included a TV we were able to connect to our Netflix account. (Kiddos enjoyed an evening movie when the down pours finally arrived). Greenwich, Red Point, & Marco Polo Land are Parks that were a big hit, both with the 2 kids & 3 adults.
The RV had lots of power, handled easily, and had lots of storage for camp chairs, Hibachi, extra footwear, etc. Of special note was a smooth operating generator, for remote beaches where we overnighted without any utilities/power for CPAP.

It was my second rental in halifax. The crew was awesome and helped with every question. They offer a brand new RV. Everything was on time, clean amd ready to go.

Very friendly and helpfull staff members at the RV Location Halifax, all was succesfully organized (instructions, contracts, etc.), the RV was very clean and a very nice "home" for us

Everything was great. The RV itself was in top condition and a true pleasure to spend time in. Staff at pick-up and drop-off were nice and efficient

We had an amazing experience with Canadream for our family's August trip from Halifax to tour Cape Breton. Customer service was excellent. The condition of the RV was immaculate.

Very impressed and I would rent for Canadream again.

Handover and return of the vehicle was fast and efficient. The vehicle was in great condition and everything worked flawlessly. The personnel was very helpful and willingly fixed a mistake I made when checking in online.

Unfortunately, our expectations were somewhat disappointed. We specifically booked the more expensive Premium Package, which, according to our documents, was supposed to include everything — only to find out on site that we had to pay extra for several items.

Our confusion began when Canadream presented us with a motorhome that did not have the slide-out feature we had specifically requested. We were told that you can only book a vehicle type, but not a specific motorhome. This was not made clear to us at the time of booking. Since no motorhome with a slide-out was available at that time, we had no choice but to accept the one we were given, even though it did not meet our expectations.

During the exterior walkaround, we noticed that the awning was tied up with zip ties and apparently not usable. We were told that Canadream generally disables their awnings to prevent damage. Again, this was not something we were made aware of during the booking process.

The next surprise came with the equipment. We were told we had to pay extra for basic everyday items such as a coffee maker, toaster, and camping chairs. When I showed the staff member our German-language voucher, which clearly stated "camping equipment included," he explained that this referred only to the hoses and cables for water, waste water, and electricity. In my opinion, those hoses are part of the vehicle itself, while “camping equipment” should include camping chairs, a table, and similar items.

In my view, a vehicle should also come equipped with a first-aid kit, safety vests, warning triangle, and leveling wedges — none of which were included. We ended up buying a toaster and two camping chairs ourselves for a total of 48 CAD.

On the invoice, the toaster was itemized at 16 CAD, while the two chairs were simply listed under “misc order.” When I asked the staff member to specify the chairs clearly on the receipt for possible reimbursement later, he scribbled a note by hand on the back of the receipt. When I pointed out that anyone could assume I wrote it myself, he told me just to say that he had written it.

The camper itself was clean but very old, and already had 80,000 km on the odometer.

Was told to return the RV between 1pm and 4pm. When returning the RV (at 2pm) , was told I was 'late' and should have handed back at 10am... to which they tried to charge me 100 dollars an hour for every hour I was 'late'. As well as this, when I picked the RV up, it was handed over to me with exactly 1/4 tank of gas, and was told to return with 1/4 of gas. I returned the RV with just over a 1/4 tank and they demanded I fill up to nearly a 1/2.

They went as far as using fake photos of the dash they claimed they took, which showed the gas tank bring nearly half when handing over to us... this was 100% not the case, the gas tank was 1/4 and the worker who handed us the RV even said make sure you return the RV with 1/4 tank.

WHY NOT HAND OVER WITH A FULL TANK AND RETURN WITH A FULL TANK ? ... it's so they can do this to people.

To summarise, this company will give you a decent RV, but expect to be scammed on return... completely ruined our experience and will never use this company again.

I HIGHLY recommend, you avoid this company at all costs.

Yes, in the email it was outlined that the drop off time is 10:00 AM, which we would have had no problem meeting. However, your staff, categorically informed us we can return between 1pm -4pm , which we didn't even request.so we did just that, and you then told us we were late and tried to charge us $100 an hour for every hour we were 'late'. That is a dirty trick in anyone's book.

Regarding the fuel level. At no point on collection was the fuel level 3/8 of a tank. I clearly remember not being able to see the 1/4 tank level marker on collection and even raised this eith your staff member during the handover, who agreed it was only 1/4 tank, and informed me to make sure I return with 1/4 tank, which every member of 'my party' heard. It is difficult to believe your photo is genuine based on the FACT the fuel gage had EXACTLY 1/4 tank and you claim there was more. You either took the photo before using the gas yourselves, or this is an illegitimate photo, it's one or the other.

Another point to raise, the RV waste tank either wasn't emptied, or not emptied properly. It stank....we emptied the tank on the second night and and was full of Sh*t, and nobody used it at this point.

Lastly- as 'the party' is my family- I can assure you we all left extremely dissatisfied with Canadream. Our trip was enjoyable, yes. But the dirty tricks played by your company and staff ruined what would have been a vacation to remember. The photo of the fuel gage was not take in the presence of a 'guest', as I was the person who you handed this over to, and as the only designated driver, I can assure you, this did not happen In my presence.

After fighting this 'late fee' issue, the late fee was not applied.

Despite the prior email to state a 10am pickup, your staff told all of us that we can drop off at 1-4pm no problem. We did just that, and you then try to claim we were late and try to charge us. This is deceitful, and a clear attempt to make more money out of us.

The fuel issues can't be described as anything other than an attempt to get even more money out of us, as it was 1/4 tank on collection, we both know this to be true.

I expect the deposit I paid on pick to be paid into my account in full.

We rented a Super Camper Van (no alkoven but slide out for the bed) for 3 weeks at Halifax. Model was 2 years old and had already accumulated 68000 km.
The unit was clean and technically ok. No issues with the vehicle and interior at all. No broken doors or shelfs. Clean bed and towells in the Package. New Kitchen Utensils were provided. Compared to Cruise America we had rented from 2 years ago in Las Vegas a lot better impression on maintenance and overall impression of vehicle and Company (Customer Service). Many comments in this Forum are about Noise and fuel consumption on the RVs based on the Ford F350/450 Chassis. This is something which First Time Renters should be aware of. Driving this Type of RV is not as smooth as you are used to compared with a car. Driving a Heavy vehicle with a complete household inside can be quite noisy. Esspecially on bumpy and old secondary roads.

Overall a hazle free experience with the RV and Canadream. Not 5 Stars behause of all the Extras that can ad to the Price (Toaster, Coffeemaker, Generator Use, Chairs, etc) and an only 1/4 Filled Gas Tank at the Start. Introduction by staff into the vehicle was Sufficent. Additional Videos available and also a very detailed Guide/Manual for all technical items onboard. Hose/Cable for water and electricity where brandnew and we also got a bucket with cleaning Utensils. A torch and some simple Tools were also provided. We also got a bag with tabs for the toilet (black water Holding Tank). Not sure if this was because of our booked package or if this is standard.

Staff at the Halifax branch was very friendly and helpful, too.

Had different and worse experiences with other RV rental companies in North America.

Would definetely rent again with Canadream.

All in all very good. Just some issues:
An Axe would be good in a RV, because most of the time you have fire pits around you. Especially when you rent as a Tourist from Europe you don't want to bring your own axe.
It's also sad that we can't use the awning as it was very hot.
A Transfer would be nice to or from the Airport, as most other Companies are doing a Transfer. The RVs are not that cheap to rent, a transfer should be included.

Excellent experience from pickup to drop off! Friendly knowledgeable staff. The camper truck unit was as described and perfect for our adventure! Being able to take the dog was an added bonus! We definitely recommend using Canadream! The Halifax crew is top notch! Thank you!
